How we verified this directory — Milad Ghobadibeygvand, BScN

Candidates came from nine makers' dealer maps, the Utah Division of Air Quality's 2026 e-bike voucher store list, OpenStreetMap, AI answers and Google Maps searches in all 29 counties and all 121 cities of 2,000 or more. Candidates were read on their own sites, where one opened, and on Google Maps.

A store is listed when its own site, or a maker's dealer map at its address, shows e-bike sales and Google Maps shows it open. Rentals, repair-only shops, motorcycle and powersports dealers and closed storefronts stay off. Unconfirmed candidates stay open leads.

Verified November 2 and 3, 2026; next check due by May 5, 2027, when Utah's age rules change.

Quick Answer

Utah has 107 verified e-bike shops as of November 3, 2026, in 47 communities across 15 of its 29 counties. Salt Lake County has the most, 35.

A Utah e-bike has "fully operable pedals" and an electric motor that "has a power output of not more than 750 watts", in Class 1, 2 or 3 (§ 41-6a-102(21); the Utah law guide).

Utah's $400 e-bike voucher ($800 on income) is closed for 2026 (Utah E-Bike Program); Empire Electric Association pays its members 25% of an e-bike's price, up to $150, through 2026.

If no Utah counter has the bike you want, every e-bike we sell ships free in the contiguous US (shipping policy).

Two of Utah's seven associations of governments hold most of them: Wasatch Front (Salt Lake City) with 53 and Mountainland (Provo) with 28, 81 of the 107 stores listed here, 75.7%, less than their 79.8% share of Utahns (Census Bureau 2025 estimates). Of the other five, Five County (St. George) has 15, Bear River (Logan) 5, Southeastern Utah (Price) 4 and Uintah Basin (Vernal) 2, and Six County (Richfield) has none.

Each listing gives you the store's street, a phone number when the sources agree on one, and the check that showed it sells e-bikes.

Utah's eBike Map, County by County

Find your county in the table: it lists Utah's nine counties of 50,000 or more people, home to 91.0% of the state (Census Bureau 2025 estimates). Each store counts in the county where it stands, and an open lead is a bike business there that no check has yet shown selling e-bikes, worth a call from you before you rule it out. The other nineteen stores stand in smaller counties and appear under their region below.

Locality Pop (2025) Verified stores Open leads
Salt Lake County 1,220,916 35 24

Counted by city limits, fifteen of Utah's nineteen cities of 50,000 or more hold verified stores: Salt Lake City 14, St. George 8, Orem 5, Lehi 4, Sandy 4, Provo 3, Ogden 3, West Jordan 2, South Jordan 2, Layton 2, Millcreek 2, Murray 2, Draper 2, Taylorsville 1 and Logan 1 (Census Bureau 2025 estimates).

West Valley City, Eagle Mountain, Herriman and Saratoga Springs have none inside their limits; if you live in one, the nearest-store table gives you the closest counter to each.

Wasatch Front (Salt Lake City) has the most stores, 53 of the 107, and 56.0% of Utahns live there (Census Bureau 2025 estimates). Per resident, Southeastern Utah (Price) has the most, 7.2 stores per 100,000 people, against 3.0 across the state.

Six County (Richfield) has the fewest per resident, with no store for its 2.4% of Utahns.

In Six County (Richfield), the nearest listed counters mean a drive: from Nephi, Hangar 15 Bicycles in Spanish Fork is 30.5 miles away, and from Richfield, Gear Up Bike & RC Cars & Indoor Track in Parowan is 75.7 miles away, each a straight line from the Census Bureau's point for that town.

Horizontal bar chart of the 107 verified e-bike storefronts on this page by region (Utah's seven associations of governments), with stores per 100,000 residents: Wasatch Front (Salt Lake City) 53 (2.7 per 100,000); Mountainland (Provo) 28 (3.3 per 100,000); Five County (St. George) 15 (5.0 per 100,000); Bear River (Logan) 5 (2.3 per 100,000); Southeastern Utah (Price) 4 (7.2 per 100,000); Uintah Basin (Vernal) 2 (3.3 per 100,000); Six County (Richfield) 0 (0.0 per 100,000).

Bottom line Every one of the nine counties in the table has at least one verified store. The listings by region below give every store's street, and if no counter is close to you, every e-bike we sell ships free.

Read the class before the price. Utah sorts e-bikes into three classes by the speed the motor stops helping at and by whether a throttle can drive the bike alone. The buying guide works through seven specs in order, the motor first and weight and payload last, and gives a full section to picking Class 1, 2 or 3.

Utah eBike Law — 2026 Quick Reference

Check two things before you ride out of the shop: the class on the bike's label and the rider's age. A Utah electric assisted bicycle has an electric motor that "has a power output of not more than 750 watts" and "fully operable pedals" (§ 41-6a-102(21)), and since May 6, 2026, a rider under 21 must wear a helmet on a Utah highway (§ 41-6a-1505(1)).

The state sections quoted here were read at the Utah Legislature on November 2, 2026, including the versions that take effect on May 5, 2027. Park City's trail ordinance and Wasatch County's e-bike rules were read on their own pages the same day. Our Utah e-bike law guide goes further into the trails, the federal lands and every city code it checked.

  • 750 watts or less, with working pedals. Your bike must have a motor "of not more than 750 watts", "permanently affixed cranks that were installed at the time of the original manufacture", and be "fully operable as a bicycle without the use of the electric motor" (§ 41-6a-102(21)(a)). A machine sold or modifiable to "attain the speed of 20 miles per hour or greater on motor power alone", or with "a continuous rated motor power of more than 750 watts", is not one (§ 41-6a-102(21)(b)).
  • Three classes, and bikes that switch between them. A Class 1 motor "provides assistance only when the rider is pedaling" and stops at 20 miles per hour. A Class 2 motor "may be used exclusively to propel the bicycle" and gives no assistance from 20 miles per hour. A Class 3 assists only while you pedal, stops at 28 miles per hour and "is equipped with a speedometer" (§ 41-6a-102(11)-(13)). A programmable bike may switch classes if it "fully conforms" to each class in that mode (§ 41-6a-102(67)).
  • In law you ride a bicycle. An e-bike "is subject to the provisions under this chapter for a bicycle", and you "may operate an electric assisted bicycle on a path or trail designated for the use of a bicycle" (§ 41-6a-1115.5(1)-(2)).
  • The helmet rule has a fine. It covers every rider under 21 on a highway, except on a Class 1 e-bike "rented from a business or corporate entity" (§ 41-6a-1505(3)). Breaking it is an infraction, and the fine for an e-bike rider may not exceed "$25" (§ 41-6a-1505(8)). A rider 21 or older who wears a compliant helmet gets "$8" waived from a moving-violation fine (§ 41-6a-1505(5)).
  • No drinking, no open container. You "may not drink an alcoholic beverage while operating" an e-bike, or carry an opened container on one on a highway, and either is "a class C misdemeanor" (§ 41-6a-526(2), (3), (6)).
  • An officer may hold a minor's bike. Since May 6, 2026, an officer who sees a rider under 18 commit a violation on a "personal electric vehicle" may hold it and "release the personal electric vehicle to only the individual's parent or guardian" (§ 41-6a-1115.6). The section takes that term from § 41-6a-1512, which names "an electric assisted bicycle" and whose own text is dated effective May 5, 2027.
  • Look for the label on your bike. A Utah-based maker or distributor must fix "a label in a prominent location" giving the class number, the "top assisted speed" and the "wattage of the motor" (§ 41-6a-1115.5(8)(a)-(b)). A seller of an electric vehicle with fewer than four wheels that is not an e-bike must say so in capitals, and selling one as an e-bike without that notice is "prima facie evidence of a deceptive trade practice" (§ 41-6a-1115.5(8)(d), (f)).
  • Breaking the e-bike section is an infraction. "An individual who violates this section is guilty of an infraction", and if you own the bike, you "may not authorize or knowingly permit" anyone to ride in violation of it (§ 41-6a-1115.5(7), (9)).

Read the label, then the trail sign. If your bike meets the definition above (§ 41-6a-102(21)), Utah's bicycle rules apply to it (§ 41-6a-1115.5(1)), and within the age rules below you may ride it on any path or trail designated for bicycles unless a "local authority or state agency" has restricted e-bikes there (§ 41-6a-1115.5(2)-(3)(a)).

The age rules change on May 5, 2027. Until then the 2024 text governs; from that day the rewritten section does (§ 41-6a-1115.5, version effective May 5, 2027).

Rider Until May 5, 2027 From May 5, 2027
Under 8 No riding with the motor engaged on "any public property, highway, path, or sidewalk" (§ 41-6a-1115.5(6)) No riding with the motor engaged "on a highway" (§ 41-6a-1115.5(6))
8 to 13 Motor on only "under the direct supervision of the individual's parent or guardian", and no Class 3 (§ 41-6a-1115.5(4)-(5)) On a highway with a parent or another responsible adult supervising, or with a personal electric vehicle safety certificate (§ 41-6a-1115.5(4))
14 and 15 Any class but Class 3 (§ 41-6a-1115.5(4)) Same as 8 to 13
16 to 20 Any class, helmet on a highway (§ 41-6a-1505(1)) Any class "without supervision" (§ 41-6a-1115.5(5)), helmet on a highway
21 and over Any class, no state helmet rule No change

If you are buying for a rider under 16, check the date: until May 5, 2027, "An individual under 16 years old may not operate a class 3 electric assisted bicycle" (§ 41-6a-1115.5(4)); the version that takes effect that day prints no class rule for riders under 16. The safety certificate is the § 41-6a-1512 program, which also starts on May 5, 2027.

Where a city or county sets its own rules

Utah lets a local authority or state agency regulate or restrict e-bikes, or one class of them, "on a sidewalk, path, or trail within the jurisdiction" (§ 41-6a-1115.5(3)(a)). Three such rules reach riders in Park City, Wasatch County and Draper:

  • Park City. "It is unlawful to operate" a motor vehicle, an electric assisted bicycle or several other vehicles "on a natural surface trail", with exceptions that include a Class 1 bike ridden by someone "age 65 or older", Class 1 and Class 2 bikes on natural surface trails "greater than five (5) feet wide" that serve as official transportation corridors, and riders with mobility disabilities. A violation is "an infraction" (Park City Municipal Code § 10-1-4.5).
  • Wasatch County. "Class II or III electric assisted bicycles may not be operated on soft-surface trails", "Riders under 18 are required to wear a helmet", and violations "are punishable as an infraction" (Wasatch County e-bike regulations).
  • Draper. The city's notice of May 11, 2026, says that "In Draper City, motor-assisted scooters, Class 2 and 3 e-bikes, and e-motorcycles are not allowed on trails, paths, in parks, or on other public property" (Draper City notice). It names Class 2 and Class 3, not Class 1.

The Utah e-bike law guide swept the codes of the 73 Utah cities and towns and 9 counties published on Municode, the cities it checked, and found few e-bike rules in them. The other 182 of Utah's 255 municipalities, Draper among them, were outside that sweep, so read your own city's code before you ride its paths.

Rebates and vouchers

Utah's Utah E-Bike Program, run by the Division of Air Quality, gave residents of Davis, Salt Lake, Tooele, Utah and Weber counties $400 toward an e-bike from an approved store, or $800 if their income qualified. Its 2026 applications opened June 1 and are now closed, with every slot full. If you hold a voucher, it pays only at one of the program's approved stores, so a bike you buy online, ours included, cannot use one.

If Empire Electric Association supplies your power, as it does for 1,308 customers in San Juan County (EIA-861), its 2026 outdoor-equipment rebate pays members 25% of an electric bicycle's price, up to $150. Its form says the rebate ends December 31, 2026; its program page says it will end on January 1, 2027.

The Department of Energy's Utah register lists 33 incentives and laws, none mentioning a bicycle. The other 46 utility websites read live on November 2, 2026, list no e-bike rebate, and two more listed none in archived copies; ask the utility on your bill.

Commuting in Salt Lake City or Provo? Utah's Code subjects an e-bike to its bicycle rules, and a Class 3 adds a speedometer and help up to 28 miles per hour. The commuter guide arranges its 18 picks by the trip, from the everyday commuter and the torque-sensor bikes through to long range and cargo, with a section on the 750-watt line for every pick.

eBike Stores in Utah, Region by Region

The listings follow Utah's seven associations of governments (Utah Legislature), the regional councils whose member counties appear on their own pages: Bear River, Wasatch Front, Mountainland, Six County, Five County, Southeastern Utah and Uintah Basin. Every one of the 29 counties belongs to exactly one, so each store appears once, under its county's region.

Within each region, you will find a store under the town on its mailing address. A mailing town is a post office's name, so a store filed under your town can stand in the next county.

Each store below is placed by its own point with the Census geocoder:

  • Four of the eighteen listed stores mailed to Salt Lake City stand outside its city limits, in Millcreek (2) and South Salt Lake (2).
  • All eight listed stores mailed to St. George stand inside its city limits.
  • One of the four listed stores mailed to Moab stands outside its city limits, in unincorporated Grand County.

Across the state, eleven of the 107 stores that print a mailing town stand outside the place that town names (nine inside another city, town or census-designated place and two on unincorporated land outside any of them; Census geocoder), so check a store's street, not only its town, before you drive.

If you live near a state line, the stores across it are in the Colorado and Arizona directories, and the national directory links every state with one. Idaho, Wyoming, Nevada and New Mexico have no directory here yet, so a store across one of those lines is on no page of ours.

Planning to ride dirt as well as pavement? Utah lets a local authority or state agency restrict e-bikes, or one class of them, "on a sidewalk, path, or trail within the jurisdiction" (§ 41-6a-1115.5(3)(a)), so the trail's manager decides. The mountain-bike guide opens with the spec that decides where a bike is allowed, and it has picks built for non-motorized singletrack.

If your city has none: the nearest verified store

Four of Utah's nineteen cities of 50,000 or more have no verified store inside their limits. Each distance below runs in a straight line from the Census Bureau's point for the city to the closest listed store, so expect your drive from your own street to be longer.

City People Nearest verified store Miles
Herriman 63,282 Antelope E-Bikes, Bluffdale 3.2
West Valley City 137,491 Taylor's Bike Shop, Taylorsville 3.3
Saratoga Springs 61,397 Wasatch Ebikes, Lehi 5.1
Eagle Mountain 66,557 Bike Peddler, Lehi 10.2

The shortest of these trips starts in Herriman, 3.2 miles to Antelope E-Bikes, and the longest in Eagle Mountain, 10.2 miles to Bike Peddler (Census Gazetteer). Phone before you go: a store that sells e-bikes may not have your size or model on the floor that day.

Frequently Asked Questions — Utah eBike Shops

Who sells electric bikes in Utah?

The 107 storefronts on this page do, in 47 communities across 15 of Utah's 29 counties, and Salt Lake County has the most (35). Each listing ends with the check that showed the store sells e-bikes, and where that check is a maker's dealer map, the grade names the maker and links to its locator, so you can open the map yourself before you call.

Where are the e-bike shops in Salt Lake City?

Fourteen verified stores are inside Salt Lake City's city limits, Bicycle Center, Bingham Cyclery and Contender Bicycles among them (Census geocoder). Outside the city, Salt Lake County has twenty-one more, in Sandy (4), South Salt Lake (3), Draper (2), Millcreek (2), Murray (2), South Jordan (2), West Jordan (2), Bluffdale, Cottonwood Heights, Riverton and Taylorsville.

The Wasatch Front (Salt Lake City) listing on this page gives you each store's street and verifying check, and its phone where a source prints one.

Where are the e-bike shops in St. George?

Eight verified stores are inside St. George's city limits, Al's Sporting Goods, Antelope E-Bikes and Bicycles Unlimited among them (Census geocoder). Outside the city, Washington County has four more, in Hurricane, Ivins, Springdale and Washington. The Five County (St. George) listing on this page gives you each store's street and verifying check, and its phone where a source prints one.

Where are the e-bike shops in Moab?

Three verified stores are inside Moab's city limits: Bike Fiend on E Center Street, Chile Pepper on S Main Street and Moab Cyclery on S Main Street (Census geocoder). Outside the city, Grand County has one more, in unincorporated Grand County. The Southeastern Utah (Price) listing on this page gives you each store's street and verifying check, and its phone where a source prints one.

Yes, when your bike meets Utah's definition: an electric motor that "has a power output of not more than 750 watts", "fully operable pedals" and a Class 1, 2 or 3 rating (§ 41-6a-102(21)). Such a bike "is subject to the provisions under this chapter for a bicycle" (§ 41-6a-1115.5(1)).

If your machine was sold or modified to "attain the speed of 20 miles per hour or greater on motor power alone", it is not an e-bike in Utah (§ 41-6a-102(21)(b)).

Do you need a license to ride an e-bike in Utah?

No. The Driver License Division says "In Utah, you can drive an electric bike without a driver license", and without an endorsement (Utah Driver License Division). Utah's traffic code leaves "an electric assisted bicycle" out of its definition of a motor vehicle (§ 41-6a-102(51)(b)(iv)). Your age still matters: until May 5, 2027, "An individual under 16 years old may not operate a class 3 electric assisted bicycle" (§ 41-6a-1115.5(4)).

Are e-bikes allowed on trails in Utah?

On a path or trail open to bicycles, yes: you "may operate an electric assisted bicycle on a path or trail designated for the use of a bicycle" (§ 41-6a-1115.5(2)). A local authority or state agency may restrict e-bikes, or one class of them, on its own sidewalks, paths and trails (§ 41-6a-1115.5(3)(a)), as Park City, Wasatch County and Draper do (above).

The Utah e-bike trails guide sets out who decides on each kind of land, from national forests to state parks.

Does Utah have an e-bike helmet law?

Yes, if you are under 21: since May 6, 2026, you must wear a helmet on a Utah highway (§ 41-6a-1505(1)), unless you are riding a Class 1 e-bike "rented from a business or corporate entity" (§ 41-6a-1505(3)). On an e-bike, your fine may not exceed "$25" (§ 41-6a-1505(8)). Wasatch County adds its own rule: "Riders under 18 are required to wear a helmet" (Wasatch County e-bike regulations).

The Bottom Line

Utah's 107 verified counters stand in 15 of its 29 counties, and fifteen of its nineteen cities of 50,000 or more have one inside their limits. Wasatch Front (Salt Lake City) has 53, while Six County (Richfield) has 0. From a county with none, a demo of the bike you want may mean a drive to the Wasatch Front region, so call before you go.

Bottom line Check the motor rating before the stock list. In Utah an e-bike is a bicycle in law, with a motor that "has a power output of not more than 750 watts" (§ 41-6a-102(21)), and every e-bike we sell ships free within the contiguous United States (shipping policy).

Buy from a Utah shop if you want a test ride before you pay, a fitting on the day you collect the bike, and a service counter close to home for the first tune-up.

Order online if nothing within your drive carries the bike you have settled on.

Buying from us when no Utah shop floor has the bike you want. Shipping is free on every e-bike we carry within the contiguous United States, Utah included. A confirmed order leaves us within 1 to 3 business days, and most bikes arrive within 5 to 10 business days of dispatch (shipping policy). On November 3, 2026, our checkout took payment by card or with Apple Pay or Google Pay.

The maker's warranty stays with the bike, and when a bike will not power on, will not charge or throws an error code, we work through the repair or the replacement with you remotely (refund policy).

If the carton arrives damaged, photograph it within 48 hours of delivery; we file the carrier claim and arrange the repair or a replacement at no cost to you (refund policy). Our terms of service name the company that sells to you, and support@redtailebikes.com answers questions about an order, its shipping or its warranty.

Not sure which bike suits the riding you do? Email sales@redtailebikes.com with your Utah town and your plans, a commute into Salt Lake City, a weekend on a paved canyon parkway or a long gravel road between towns, and we usually reply within one business day (contact page). The advice costs nothing.

When the bike comes home, photograph its class label and keep the receipt that names the model. Utah requires a Utah-based maker or distributor to print the class, the "top assisted speed" and the "wattage of the motor" on "a label in a prominent location" (§ 41-6a-1115.5(8)), and those three facts settle most questions a trail sign or an officer can raise.

Sources, limitations and how this page was verified

How the count was reached

Each storefront counts once: 107 verified storefronts, every one listed above.

The candidate pool. OpenStreetMap held 108 entries tagged as bicycle shops inside Utah; dropping the unnamed ones and merging repeats left 104, of which 43 list a website. Nine makers' dealer locators added 135 storefront rows: the dealer maps of Aventon, Giant, Trek, Specialized, Velotric, Pedego, SWFT, Lectric and Bakcou.

  • Lectric. Lectric's map marks eight Utah locations for retail sales, test rides and rentals, and only one of them as a retail store. Downrange Bike Works in West Jordan, Rampage Rental and Repair in St. George, Rampage Repairs in Ivins and Rampage Repairs in St. George are listed above on their own evidence, as three stores (Lectric marks the St. George store twice, as Rampage Rental and Repair and Rampage Repairs); Black Tie Summer Adventure Gear in Park City, Dutch John Resort At Flaming Gorge in Dutch John, Ruby's Inn in Bryce Canyon City and SLC Rental Bikes in Sandy are not, because no check showed them selling e-bikes there under this page's test.
  • Bakcou. Bakcou's dealer locator (its Stockist list, read whole, each location placed by its own map point) puts nineteen locations in Utah, fourteen of them marked as carrying its e-bikes. Six of those fourteen are listed above: Dinoland E-Bike Sales & Rentals in Vernal, Pronghorn Bicycles in Perry, Salt Lake eBikes in Salt Lake City, Scheels in Sandy, St. George Ebikes in St George and Tagged Out Adventures in Tremonton; the other eight are not counted (three businesses in other trades, three vehicle dealers, one motorcycle or powersports business and one that Google Maps does not hold at its point).
  • SWFT. SWFT sells through Best Buy, and four of its Best Buy store pages are for Utah stores, in Ogden, Orem, Salt Lake City and Sandy: all four are counted above among the dealer-map rows.
  • QuietKat and Magnum. The finders of two more makers were each read in full for Utah: QuietKat's store finder shows thirty-six locations in the state and Magnum's dealer list (Stockist, the finder behind Magnum's Utah page) twenty-one more; every one of those leads went through the same checks as the rest.

The Division of Air Quality's Utah E-Bike Program names thirty-two approved stores on its page, its store map and its store sheet; each went through the same checks as every other lead, and ten of them are counted above.

Bosch's dealer map could not be read for Utah on November 3, 2026, so you will not find a store here on a Bosch listing alone. Each route tried is in the table.

Route to Bosch's dealer map What it returned
Our script, six requests to Bosch's site, November 3, 2026 HTTP 403 on all six, five of them CloudFront's "Request blocked" page
A headless Chrome browser, the same day HTTP 403

Bosch's answers to the searches run for our Colorado and Las Vegas directories, October 6 to 28, 2026 28 Utah stores: 12 listed above, 1 temporarily closed, 15 not counted, each below

A listing read weeks earlier for another page shows what Bosch said that day, not a check made today, so no store here is counted on a Bosch listing alone. The fifteen not counted, with what the checks here found:

  • Cedar Cycle, Cedar City: could not be read, so call before you go.
  • Euclid Outdoors, Charleston: its own site offers no e-bike for sale.
  • Alley Cat Bike Shop, Ephraim: Google Maps marks it permanently closed.
  • Over the Edge Sports, Hurricane: its own site offers no e-bike for sale.
  • IBB Cyclery, Ivins: its own site offers no e-bike for sale.
  • Double Down Bike Shop, Moab: its own site offers no e-bike for sale.
  • Poison Spider Bicycles, Moab: its own site offers no e-bike for sale.
  • Backcountry.com, Park City: could not be read, so call before you go.
  • Cole Sport, Park City: its own site offers no e-bike for sale.
  • Park City Electric Bikes, Park City: could not be read, so call before you go.
  • Pendry Park City, Park City: it is not a bicycle store but a business in another trade.
  • Switchback Sports, Park City: its own site offers no e-bike for sale.
  • BYU Outdoors Unlimited, Provo: it rents bikes and sells no e-bike.
  • Utah Trikes, Springville: its own site offers no e-bike for sale.
  • Zionic Adventure, St. George: the storefront at its address is Ebikes St George powered by Magnum, which could not be read, so call before you go.

REI's pages for its three Utah stores, in Farmington, Salt Lake City and Sandy, were read only in the Internet Archive's copies (captured May 16 to June 17, 2026): rei.com gave this machine no response on November 3, 2026. None is counted: an archived copy shows what a page said when captured, not what the store sells today.

Trek's own list of its retail stores names four in Utah, Trek Bicycle American Fork, Trek Bicycle Centerville, Trek Bicycle Cottonwood Heights and Trek Bicycle Salt Lake City Downtown, and each page was read (eight of the nine store sitemaps Trek's index names were served; the ninth answered not found).

Where the Google Maps search ran Places searched

Cities and towns of 2,000 or more 121

"Electric bike shop" searches, one per place above 194

The Google Maps search asked for bike shops and then for electric bike shops in each of those places: 388 searches, which with the follow-up reads they led to produced 102 candidates to check.

Every business the AI engines named in answering the 16 questions was checked against the sweep, and the ten it lacked were looked up on Google Maps: one is a store listed here (Ari Bicycles), one is an open lead (Backcountry Outlet - Ogden), five are marked permanently closed and three have no listing (Maps returned other businesses).

The Pedego store the engines named, in Lehi, is marked permanently closed on Google Maps (read November 2, 2026), and Pedego's Utah dealer page lists two Utah stores, in Moab and Park City, both listed here.

Reddit was searched for riders' questions and the shops they name: 24 of 36 searches across twelve Utah subreddits answered, and the other twelve, in r/Lehi, r/LoganUtah, r/SandyUtah and r/WestJordan, could not be read; the 90 replies under the 9 posts found were read for shop names too.

The test a store's own website had to pass. It had to offer e-bikes for sale in its own words: a price, a category that lists an e-bike, or a sentence saying the shop sells them. An e-bike that appears only on a repair menu, a rental price list, a giveaway, a trail notice or a parts page does not qualify, and neither does a car or powersports dealer's e-bike page.

When a site would not load, it was opened again in a real browser and then from an archived copy. A candidate whose first read showed no e-bike for sale was crawled page by page, so a shop that keeps its e-bikes deep in its catalog still counts.

Then the seventy-six leads with no site of their own, or none that would load, were worked again, by a search for the name (fifty-seven of them), a second Google Maps read or a second read of the shop's own pages.

Leads Where they ended
5 Sell e-bikes and are listed above: evo Salt Lake in Salt Lake City, Electrify Bike Co. in West Jordan, Trek Bicycle in Heber City, Scheels in Sandy and Tagged Out Adventures in Tremonton
5 Have closed: four are marked permanently closed on Google Maps, and Infinite Cycles in Riverton closed in 2018, as Cycling West reported
2 Are marked temporarily closed on Google Maps
1 Had moved, and the store at the new address is read as its own listing
7 Have pages of their own, each read on its own site on November 3, 2026, and none of them offers an e-bike for sale
9 Are not bicycle stores (five businesses in other trades, two vehicle dealers, one mobile bike service that comes to the rider and one free public bike repair stand)
5 Rent bikes and sell no e-bike
6 Were second listings of a place already read
3 Have sites of their own that no honest route could read
33 Are still open leads

A maker's dealer map is the other road onto this list: a store counts when the dealer map of Velotric, Aventon, SWFT, Bakcou, Pedego or Specialized places it at its address as an e-bike dealer.

The final check was each store's own Google Maps listing: 104 of the 107 resolved to one business at the listed address that Google shows open; the other three show their hours and no closed notice on Google Maps (all three on a results card). A store Google marks closed, even temporarily, is left off.

How to read the listings

The grade at the end of each listing tells you what confirmed that the store sells e-bikes.

Site checked applies to 52 of the 107: the shop's own website sells e-bikes.

Chain site checked applies to 37: one website serves several storefronts (for example Hangar 15 Bicycles, Antelope E-Bikes and Bountiful Bicycle), so it proves the business sells e-bikes, and the listing tells you which branch you are visiting.

A maker's dealer map applies to 18: the maker lists the store as an authorized e-bike dealer, and the grade links you to that maker's locator. Of those 18, 17 have a website that did not show e-bikes for sale in its own words (or could not be read) and 1 has no website of its own, so the maker's map is the evidence.

Bar chart of how the 107 listings were verified: site checked 52, chain site checked 37, a maker's dealer map 18.

You see a phone number on a listing when its sources agree, or when only one gives a number; where a maker's roster and Google Maps disagree, the store's own site decides, and where the site decides nothing the listing shows no number. Whatever the grade, call before you drive.

Why the map is thin where it is thin

OpenStreetMap carries 53 of the 107 storefronts on this page, so if you searched that map alone, you would miss 54 of them. Counting the stores only one source carried, the makers' dealer maps found 38, the statewide Google Maps search 7 and the Utah Division of Air Quality's list of stores approved for its e-bike program 1.

Google Maps and the shops' own sites settled which stores have closed: 12 storefronts still listed by a maker's roster or another source are closed (10 permanently, 2 temporarily), so you will not find them above.

Limitations

  1. 112 candidates remain open leads, named in the research files and not counted: 71 with sites that name no e-bike for sale, 24 that could not be confirmed and 17 with no website of their own. Each deserves a phone call before you rule it out; none is a finding that the business does not sell e-bikes.
  2. Why 24 could not be confirmed: seven whose sites would not load; one whose website's domain does not resolve; nine whose addresses their own sites' lists of stores do not carry; one whose own Facebook page offers e-bikes but which no source places at a street Google Maps confirms; two that makers' dealer maps list at addresses where Google Maps holds no such shop; one whose only page answered every route with a log-in wall; and three whose own store pages were not read, while the chain's online shop, which listed e-bikes when last archived, would not load.
  3. Named and not counted: 35 listings that are not a bicycle store (fifteen businesses in other trades, seven motorcycle and powersports businesses, seven vehicle dealers, three mobile bike services that come to the rider, one bike-share station, one free public bike repair stand and one warehouse), 12 closed storefronts (10 permanently, 2 temporarily), 16 businesses that rent bikes and sell no e-bike, 18 duplicate listings and 1 old address of a shop that has moved, read at its new one.
  4. County and city lines are the Census Bureau's. A store counts toward a county, or toward a city of 50,000 or more, only when its own point stands inside that boundary, so a store with a Salt Lake City, Park City or Orem mailing address can stand outside the city you expect. Of the nineteen Utah cities of 50,000 or more, one crosses a county line: Draper reaches from Salt Lake County into Utah County (Census Bureau 2025 estimates).
  5. City rules come from Park City's municipal code and the published notices of Wasatch County and Draper. Utah lets a "local authority or state agency" regulate or restrict e-bikes on a sidewalk, path or trail in its jurisdiction (§ 41-6a-1115.5(3)(a)), and the state has 255 incorporated municipalities. Our Utah e-bike law guide searched the codes of the 73 Utah cities and towns and 9 counties published on Municode on August 26, 2026; the other 182 of the state's 255 municipalities, Draper among them, were outside that search, and this page did not re-run it, so a city outside it may have a rule of its own.
  6. Where each city rule was read. The local rules quoted above are Park City's, from its municipal code at the section linked beside it, and Wasatch County's and Draper's, each from its own published notice; all three were read on November 2, 2026.
  7. This is a floor, not a census. A shop on no maker's dealer map, absent from OpenStreetMap, the state's voucher list and Trek's store pages, and missing from Google Maps would not be found here. A Maps search by name can also return a shop in a same-named town in another state, such as Park City, Illinois or St. George, Alaska, so every address was checked for Utah before a store was counted.
  8. Bosch's dealer map could not be read. Its site refused every request we sent on November 3, 2026, so a store whose only evidence is a Bosch listing is not counted. The four of its listings that could not be read are worth a call from you, and a Bosch dealer that the Colorado and Las Vegas directories' searches did not reach would be missing here.
  9. Demand evidence. The questions this page answers come from 2,543 Google and Bing completions and related searches and 9 Utah forum posts read on November 2 and 3, 2026, and from AI search engines' answers to 16 questions on November 2 and 3, 2026: Gemini and a web-search tool run in place of the engines that could not be read answered all 16.
  10. What could not be measured. Brave Search, ChatGPT, Copilot Search, Google AI Mode and Perplexity gave no usable answer: each met our headless browser with a bot check or an empty reply, and none was retried in a visible window. No search-volume figure is used: the paid keyword tool's account had no API units left on November 2, 2026, so no volume was measured, and an unmeasured volume is not a zero.
  11. What would age this page. It is due for re-checking by May 5, 2027, when the rewritten age rules of § 41-6a-1115.5 take effect, and sooner if a listed shop closes or moves, if the Legislature amends § 41-6a-102 or § 41-6a-1115.5 again, if a city adopts or changes an e-bike rule, if the Division of Air Quality opens another voucher round or a utility starts or ends an e-bike rebate, or when the Census Bureau publishes new local estimates.
  12. Distances are straight lines. The nearest-store table measures from each city's Census point to each store's coordinates; your road distance is longer.
  13. Electric utility websites read. EIA Form 861 names 51 electric distribution utilities in Utah in its 2025 and 2024 data; the websites of 49 were read on November 2, 2026, 23 in full and 26 in part, where a page cap or a dead page stopped the read. Two of them gave our reader no live page and were read in the Internet Archive's copies, which show each page as it was captured. Ask the utility on your bill before you buy.
  14. Electric utilities not read. One utility, Meadow Town Corporation, has no website any search found, so this page says nothing either way about it. Manti could not be read in any form.

A statute, a city ordinance or a city's own notice is cited to its official publisher; a shop's own website and a maker's own dealer map are cited to themselves, since nobody else publishes them.

The building on the cover is the Utah State Capitol in Salt Lake City. The Capitol's own tour notes say: "The exterior granite was mined in Little Cottonwood Canyon. There are 52 granite Corinthian columns lining the exterior of the building." (Utah State Capitol tour flash cards, 2026).

Image credit: the cover scene was generated with Nano Banana Pro on Playcut from Carol M. Highsmith's public-domain photograph "Capitol building, Salt Lake City, Utah" in the Library of Congress, given to the model as its reference and checked at full size against it. The panel over the portico, which carries the words STATE OF UTAH on the building, is shown plain.
