Who the M20-III is for
Buy it if
- Riders who want all-wheel-drive traction: a motor in each wheel keeps pulling when loose sand or a wet climb breaks one wheel free
- Long private-land days — with both packs switched on, Samebike claims up to 240 km (149 mi) of pedal-assist range, double what most single-battery bikes carry
- Heavier riders and gear haulers: the 180 kg (396 lb) payload rating is the joint highest in Samebike's line
- Anyone who wants moto-bench comfort — the seat is a genuine bench saddle, not a bicycle perch
Look elsewhere if
- You need something light. At a published 58 kg (128 lb), this is a two-person lift onto a rack
- Your riding is bike paths and bike lanes — a 50 km/h (31 mph) machine at 3,000W peak sits outside the three e-bike classes most US states recognize, so check your state's rules before street use
- You want to pedal seriously: the 20×4-inch moto geometry and bench seat favor throttle riding over cadence

Two motors, all-wheel drive
A 1000W hub motor in each wheel gives the M20-III what single-motor bikes physically cannot: drive at both contact patches. Samebike rates the pair at 3,000W combined peak with 160+ N·m of total torque — enough to spin both wheels from a stop and keep traction on surfaces that defeat one-wheel drive.

Each 48V 18Ah battery switches on independently: ride the first down, press the button on the second, ride home. Samebike claims 140 km (87 mi) on throttle alone and up to 240 km (149 mi) with pedal assist — manufacturer figures, measured in its lowest assist mode.
Center-mounted 4-inch color display
Speed, gear, battery state and mode sit in a moto-style center console rather than on the bar end, with brighter waterproof internals than the model it replaces. Five assist levels and a thumb throttle cover everything from gentle help to full power.
Suspension at both ends, plus the seat
An adjustable fork, rear suspension, and a sprung bench saddle work together on washboard and rock. The bench also means a passenger-style riding position: upright, feet forward, weight off your wrists.

- An owner review on Samebike's own store reports 700 miles in four months with strong acceleration and braking — the kind of specific mileage report marketing copy can't fake (his honest caveat: range at full assist means charging every other day)
Red flags
- Samebike's own copy disagrees with itself on two numbers: peak power appears as both 3,000W (title, stat strip, spec table) and 2,600W (one marketing line), and max range as both 240 km and 280 km. We publish the spec-table figures — 3,000W and 240 km — and treat the larger range claim as unconfirmed
- The frame material is listed as "Iron" — Samebike's wording for its steel frame. Strong, but a major reason for the 128 lb curb weight
- No UL 2849 or UL 2271 certification is published for the battery or drive system — if your building, campus, or insurer requires one, this is not the bike
- At 31 mph and 3,000W peak it exceeds every state's e-bike class definitions, which limits where you can legally ride it — budget for private land or check local off-road access

How to read this spec sheet
Manufacturer spec pages contain marketing, and marketing sometimes disagrees with the spec table an inch below it. Rather than quietly pick numbers, here is every place Samebike's own page disagrees with itself for this model, and which figure we print:
- Samebike's spec table lists max speed as "5KM/H" — a data-entry error contradicted by its own stat strip (50 km/h) and the bike's published gearing; we print 50 km/h.
- Peak power appears as 3,000W in the product title, stat strip and spec table, and as 2,600W in one marketing paragraph. We print 3,000W (three sources to one) and flag the discrepancy.
- Max range appears as 240 km in the spec table and 280 km in the stat strip. We print the more conservative 240 km.
What we counted
We pulled Samebike US's entire live catalog on 2026-08-23 and counted what was actually buyable: 29 of 32 bike variants across 10 models. The three unbuyable variants are all one model's colorways (M20: Black, LightSteelBlue, DarkGreen); every other bike was buyable in every published colorway on the pull date. This listing mirrors that feed — we only sell configurations Samebike can actually supply, and we re-sync price and availability against their store rather than guessing.

Manufacturing defects under normal use for the original owner, on the frame, battery, motor and the components above. Second-hand bikes stay covered only inside the original first year and only with the first owner's name and order number.

Shipping, returns & support
Shipping
Free shipping on every electric bike within the contiguous United States (lower 48).
Orders are prepared and dispatched within 1–3 business days. Most e-bikes arrive within 5–10 business days after dispatch, depending on location.
Ships via trusted parcel and freight carriers — UPS, FedEx, and LTL freight for larger items — with tracking emailed at dispatch.
On delivery
Inspect your shipment at delivery. Damage, defects, or incorrect items must be reported with photos within 48 hours; claims submitted after this window are not accepted.
Bikes with power, charging, or component issues are covered under the manufacturer warranty; Redtail coordinates repair or replacement remotely at no cost to the customer.
Returns
Change-of-mind returns accepted only on unopened, factory-sealed items requested within 72 hours (3 days) of delivery, with a 15% restocking fee plus return shipping. Once a box is opened or a bike is ridden, it is no longer eligible.
Order cancellations carry a 3% transaction fee, because card-processing fees are non-recoverable.
Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. territories, P.O. boxes, and remote areas may incur extra charges or be excluded — contact us before ordering. How fast does the Samebike M20-III go?
Samebike lists a 50 km/h (31 mph) top speed. That is faster than any of the three e-bike classes most US states define, which typically cap at 28 mph — so treat the M20-III as an off-road or private-land machine unless your state says otherwise. How do the dual batteries actually work?
Each 48V 18Ah pack has its own switch. Samebike's own FAQ describes it plainly: install the second battery, press the button beside it to bring it online, and once both are on the bike draws from them collectively. You can also carry the second pack as a dead-weight reserve and switch it on only when needed.
What range will I really get?
Samebike claims 140 km (87 mi) on throttle only and up to 240 km (149 mi) on pedal assist — figures measured in the lowest assist level under controlled conditions. Real-world range at higher speeds will be substantially less; an owner review on Samebike's store reports charging every other day riding exclusively at assist level 5. Two packs of 4–6 hours each is the recharge budget.
Is the M20-III too heavy to manage?
It is the heaviest bike Samebike sells: 58 kg (128 lb) published. Plan on ground-level storage, a ramp instead of a lift, and a hitch rack rated well above standard e-bike weights. What the mass buys you is the dual drivetrain, the second battery, and a steel frame rated to 396 lb of payload.
Does it have a warranty and who handles it?
Samebike covers the frame for 3 years and the battery, motors and other components for 1 year (battery prorated after the first year). Buy it from Redtail and we file and manage any claim with Samebike for you — email support@redtailebikes.com with photos and your order number, and inspect the box on arrival since shipping damage must be documented within days.
Is the battery UL-certified?
Samebike does not publish a UL 2849 or UL 2271 certification for the M20-III, and we won't imply one. Its parent factory lists ISO 9001 and FCC among its certifications, which are quality and electromagnetic standards rather than battery-safety listings. If your building or insurer requires UL-listed batteries, choose a bike that publishes one.
