Why the M23
Pedals and a Shimano 7-speed
The M23 keeps a real drivetrain: pedals turning a Shimano 7-speed, and a magnetic pedal-assist sensor on the crank that brings the motor in as the pedals turn. A full-twist throttle sits on the bar for riding on the motor alone.
Full suspension on 19-inch moto wheels
A KKE rear shock and a front fork Smartravel reinforces with steel, on spoked 19-inch alloy rims and 70/100-19 tires. Hydraulic disc brakes clamp 203 mm rotors front and rear, on an aluminum alloy frame.
3,000W rated, 6,500W peak
A rear brushless hub motor rated 3,000W nominal and 6,500W peak, driven by a Fardriver 80A/260A controller, with 200 N·m of torque. Smartravel publishes 50 mph in Sport mode and 28 mph in Eco mode.

Owning it in your state
The M23 is built as an electric dirt bike. Smartravel rates its motor at 3,000W nominal and 6,500W peak and publishes a 50 mph top speed in Sport mode. Federal law's low-speed electric bicycle has a motor under 750 watts and a top motor-powered speed under 20 mph (15 U.S.C. § 2085(b)), so the M23 sits outside that definition, and state law decides where you can ride it. Smartravel's Eco mode caps speed at 28 mph; a mode setting leaves the motor's rating unchanged, and how a state treats a switchable mode is that state's call. Smartravel’s pages give more than one figure for some specs on this model. Here is each one, with both figures and the one the table above uses:
- Riding range: Smartravel's spec table states 37–56 miles (60–90 km); the stat bar and feature copy on the same page say up to 65 miles. The table above prints the spec-table figure.
- Brakes: Smartravel's spec table lists hydraulic disc brakes with 2-piston calipers and 203 mm rotors; the feature copy on the same page describes a four-piston hydraulic system on 203 mm rotors. The table above prints the spec-table description.
- Warranty: the page's trust block states a 12-month warranty and the M23's own FAQ a 1-year limited warranty on the frame; a help block on the same page mentions a 2-year warranty for each e-bike. Smartravel's warranty policy page states 12 months, and 12 months is the term this page uses.
- Modes: the spec table lists Eco (28 mph) and Sport (50 mph). Smartravel's feature copy also describes a City mode held to 750W and 28 mph, and its model-comparison chart lists a Race mode at 65+ mph.

Why does the M23 have pedals?
Smartravel fits a magnetic pedal-assist sensor on the crank, so turning the pedals brings the motor in the way the throttle does, and the pedals drive a Shimano 7-speed. The full-twist throttle is there when you want the motor alone.
Where can I legally ride the M23?
Smartravel pitches the M23's full-power mode for off-road riding. Its published 3,000W nominal motor and 50 mph Sport-mode speed sit above the federal low-speed electric bicycle line (a motor under 750 watts and under 20 mph, 15 U.S.C. § 2085(b)), so your state's law decides where it can go.
