Why the red-tailed hawk?
We didn't pick a logo. We picked a mascot that earns it.
The red-tailed hawk is the most widespread hawk in North America — thriving everywhere from deserts and mountains to forests, farmland, and the middle of big cities. No single terrain owns it; it owns them all. (Fat-tire, trail, commuter, cargo — one bird, every ride.)
It's the underdog that punches up. Red-tails routinely dive-bomb and chase off birds twice their size — including bald and golden eagles — that drift into their airspace.
And the kicker: that “majestic eagle” scream in the movies? It's a red-tailed hawk. Hollywood dubs the red-tail's cry over bald-eagle footage because the eagle's real call is a thin chirp. So even when you see the eagle, you hear the hawk — the underdog stole the spotlight and never gave it back.
