Welcome to Redtail eBikes: a red-tailed hawk on a weathered fence post over open grassland at dawn, with the headline every number is checked

Quick Answer. Who is Redtail eBikes? A US online electric bike store with 188 bikes from 12 brands on the shelf, counted on September 10, 2026, and a journal of 215 pages where every number is checked against a primary source before it is printed. Every e-bike ships free to the lower 48.

This page tells you what you are looking at, who writes about it, and where to start.

Know what you want? The whole shelf is one page. Still deciding? Start with the electric bike buying guide, which names the single specification that decides each kind of riding.

How we verified this page. Each document cited was opened on September 10, 2026: our own policies and store pages, the domain registry record, the Cornell Lab and Audubon species accounts, the federal recall index and the FTC's guidance. The catalog, price and journal counts come from the store's record the same day. The page answers 21 of the 27 questions readers were observed asking. Reviewer: the author named above.

Each bike arrives with a tracking number and a manufacturer warranty that you claim through a US support desk, and the shipping is on us.

Who is Redtail eBikes

You have landed on a store whose domain was registered on June 21, 2026. The bikes here run from $509.99 to $4,699, at a median of $1,699, counted across all 188 on September 10, 2026.

Decide wrong on one of those and a 15% restocking fee is the best case, because the change-of-mind window closes the moment the box is open. This page hands you the documents that exist, and everything below is either a count you can re-run on the store itself or a policy you can read before you pay.

Redtail eBikes is a US company that sells electric bikes online only and ships them free to every address in the lower 48 states, in its own words on the contact page. Every bike on the shelf is built by one of twelve makers and none by us.

The journal you are reading has one named writer with a byline you can check. And the bird on the logo is a real bird with a real record, which is why it is there.

The About page holds the corporate record, the checks worth running before you pay, and the third-party review ledger. This page is the front door: what is on the shelf, who writes about it, how the checking works, and which journal page you should open next.

You do not need to take any of this on trust. The counts on this page come from the store's own record on a stated date, the shipping and return terms are quoted from the policies linked beside them, and the writer has a public author record. Read the ledger and the limitations before you decide, and then decide.

What we sell, counted on September 10, 2026

188 electric bikes and trikes from 12 brands, inside a published catalog of 534 items that also includes parts and accessories. Twenty of the 188 are trikes. Those counts were read from the store's own record on that date, and they move as stock moves.

Twelve brands, one shelf. Eunorau and Addmotor between them supply nearly a third of what you can buy here today.

A bike counts as a bike when its product type is a rideable one and the store does not tag it as a scooter, and a brand is the maker named on the listing. Three published scooters sit outside the 188 for that reason. A scooter is a different machine, and the state law table covers electric bicycles only.

Browse by the way you actually ride: commuter and city, fat tire, mountain and off-road, folding, cargo, trikes, kids, or everything at once. Seven of the twelve brands have a profile or a single-bike review in the journal, the brands page lists all twelve, and the best e-bike brands guide compares them on the same terms.

Fifteen minutes with the buying guide names the one specification that decides each kind of riding, and it will tell you plainly when what you want sits outside our shelf.

Who writes this journal, and who reviews the bikes

Milad Ghobadibeygvand, BScN (Western University, 2014) writes the journal and reviews the bikes. The byline on every one of the 215 pages is his. His author record sets out the credential, the method behind every page, and how to reach him.

What that means for you is that one standard runs through the whole site. The 39 single-bike reviews, the 8 brand profiles, the 45 buying guides and the 34 law pages were all built the same way: read the primary document, quote the operative words, print the date, link the source. When you find a figure on a review page you can open the manufacturer's page it came from, because the link is in the sentence.

A rider on an electric bike heading up an overgrown grass two-track, seen from behind, with the handlebars of a second e-bike in the foreground

Late summer on an overgrown two-track, from our own short film. The handlebars in the foreground belong to a bike we sell; the grass is doing what grass does in September.

The reviews are where that standard is easiest to test. Every one of the 39 carries a specification table read at the maker, a recomputed watt-hour figure, a recall search by brand and model with its date, and a family-fit module that says who the bike suits and who should read another of ours instead. The reviews hub lists all of them with the method that binds them.

One writer, one method, every page. If you want to know how much to trust a Redtail review before you read one, open the author record first. It is short, it names the credential and the method, and it gives you an email address that reaches the person who wrote what you are reading.

How every number is checked

Every figure in this journal is one of three things: the manufacturer's own published specification, a primary record, or arithmetic over those. A weight is read at the maker's page and linked, a recall is read in the federal recall database by brand and model on the date the page prints, and a statute is opened at the legislature and quoted with its section number.

Nothing is copied from another retailer, a news story or a summary, and the author record sets the method out in full. Numbers that can be recomputed are recomputed. Watt-hours come from the maker's own voltage and amp-hour figures multiplied out, and where a page prints a percentage of the shelf, the shelf was counted on the date beside it. The counts on this page came from the store's own record through the same route.

Each page carries the same apparatus, and you can use it against us: a dated verified line under the title and a numbered list of primary sources with the day each was read, and most carry a source register that grades each document by who published it.

Each page also carries a limitations section that says what it could not establish and when it expires. When you find an error, the correction is made on the page and dated.

Handlebars, display mount, suspension fork and saddle of an electric bike parked in long grass

Bars, display, fork, saddle: the four contact points that decide whether a commute is pleasant, photographed where they get used.

The test you can run in one minute. Open any review, pick a number, and click the link in the same sentence. If it lands you on the manufacturer's page, the statute, or the recall record, the method held. If it ever does not, email support@redtailebikes.com with the page and the sentence, and the correction is published and dated.

Why the red-tailed hawk

The bird was chosen because it is everywhere, and the shelf is built the same way. The Cornell Lab of Ornithology calls the red-tailed hawk "probably the most common hawk in North America" and says that with sharp eyes "you'll see several individuals on almost any long car ride, anywhere" (Cornell Lab, overview, read September 10, 2026).

The National Audubon Society's field guide agrees, calling it "the most widespread and familiar large hawk in North America" (Audubon field guide).

Red-tailed Hawks occupy just about every type of open habitat on the continent. This includes desert, scrublands, grasslands, roadsides, fields and pastures, parks, broken woodland, and (in Mexico) tropical rainforest.

That sentence is from Cornell's life history account, and it is the range you will find on the shelf: commuter, fat tire, trail, cargo, folding, trike. No single terrain owns the bird, and no single terrain owns the catalog.

Two more facts from the same record explain the temperament. The bird is big for what it weighs: Cornell calls it "one of the largest birds you'll see in North America, yet even the biggest females weigh in at only about 3 pounds."

And it holds its ground against larger birds. The life history account says red-tails "frequently chase off other hawks, eagles, and Great Horned Owls." A small store selling against companies with far larger advertising budgets could pick a worse emblem.

The call you know from the movies is this bird too. Cornell's own line is that whenever a hawk or eagle appears on screen, "the shrill cry on the soundtrack is almost always a Red-tailed Hawk," and the sounds page describes it as "a hoarse, screaming kee-eeeee-arr" lasting two to three seconds, usually given while soaring.

The eagle got the credit and the hawk did the work. The shelf it stands for is one page long, and every bike on it is checked the same way.

What you get when you buy here

Free shipping to the lower 48 on every e-bike, a written return window, a damage claim we file for you, instalments at checkout, and a US number that takes voicemail. Each of those is a line from a policy you can open before you pay, which beats a stranger's promise about what happens after. Below is your first week, in the order it happens, with the policy each step comes from.

  • The day you order. Shipping is free to any address in the contiguous United States, and the shipping policy is specific that Alaska, Hawaii, US territories, PO boxes and remote areas may carry a charge or be excluded. If that is you, ask before you order and get it in writing. Shop Pay Installments are live at checkout, with terms that depend on the price band (how buying works).
  • Days one to three. Your order is prepared and dispatched, and a tracking number lands in your inbox when it ships (shipping policy).
  • Days four to thirteen. Transit runs five to ten business days. On a freight shipment the carrier may call to book a window, and a signature may be asked for, so plan to be there.
  • Delivery day. Photograph the carton before you open it. If anything is damaged, defective or wrong, the refund policy gives you 48 hours to send the pictures, and from there the carrier claim is ours to file and the replacement or repair ours to arrange.
  • The first 72 hours. A change of mind is honored on a bike that is still unopened and factory-sealed, at a 15% restocking fee plus return shipping (refund policy). Settle the fit before the box is opened: 121 of the 210 listings publish a rider height range for their own model (counted September 23, 2026), and where yours does not, the frame and fit guide and a call to (213) 444-4020 settle it before you order.
  • Any day after that. A bike that will not power on, will not charge or throws an error code is a warranty matter, and the same policy says we coordinate the repair or replacement remotely. Military, veterans and people in recovery can take up to $1,000 off, on the terms set out on how buying works.
  • Whenever you need a person. (213) 444-4020 for the phone, sales@redtailebikes.com before you buy and support@redtailebikes.com after, with email answered "typically" within one business day and every voicemail returned (contact page).

Why buy here rather than from the maker directly? The bikes are the same machines at the maker's own specification. What changes is who you deal with when a carton arrives dented or a controller throws an error code: a US desk that files the carrier claim and coordinates the warranty repair or replacement. The refund policy puts both of those in writing, and every one of the 188 bikes is sold on those terms.

Shipping, the 48-hour damage window, returns, warranty, instalments and the military and recovery discounts, all on one page with the policy each figure came from.

Read how buying works, start to finish

Where riders get caught out

Three of the terms that catch people out, and each one is avoidable if you read it before the carton arrives. None is hidden; each is quoted below from the policy that sets it, with the habit that keeps you on the right side of it.

The 48-hour window closes. Transit damage reported more than 48 hours after delivery is not eligible for a claim, refund or replacement, in the words of the refund policy. Leaving the box in the garage for a week is how people lose that claim. Open it the day it lands, photograph anything wrong, and email the pictures the same day.

An opened box is a kept bike. The change-of-mind window is for bikes that are unopened and in factory-sealed packaging. Once a box has been opened, or a bike assembled or ridden, that window has closed (refund policy). The trap is treating a home delivery like a test ride, so settle the fit first with the rider height range where the listing publishes one, the frame and fit guide, or a phone call.

Free shipping means the lower 48. The shipping policy is specific: Alaska, Hawaii, US territories, PO boxes and remote areas may incur additional charges or be excluded. Assuming a US store ships free to every US address is the mistake that costs a freight bill. If you are outside the contiguous states, email before you order and get the answer in writing.

Three habits, one per trap. Photograph the carton the day it arrives. Settle the fit before you order rather than after. And if you are outside the contiguous states, ask what shipping costs and get the answer in writing before you pay. Do those three and the warranty is the only term you are likely to need, which is the one we work for you.

Who are e-bikes for? The rows above are the honest answer: commuters replacing a car trip, parents hauling children, riders whose knees or weight or height have been ignored by ordinary bikes, and people who want to go further than their legs alone will take them. The guides are written for each of those readers by name.

Where can you ride one? Your state decides, and the answer changes at the state line. The law table covers all 50 states in one table with every row linked to the statute, and 33 states have a full page of their own. The trail atlas covers where the rules let you off the road.

Thirty-nine single-bike reviews and eight brand profiles, built on the same method. Every single-bike review ends with the family-fit module that says who the machine is wrong for and which of ours to read instead.

The honest ledger

Five things this store is, each paired with the thing it is not and what you do about that. The right-hand column is written for the buyer the left-hand column does not fit, and each route on it is a page of ours or a policy you can read.

What we are What we are not, and what to do about it
A US online store with a curated shelf, free shipping to the lower 48, and a written return window Not a showroom. There is nowhere to swing a leg over a bike first. 121 of 210 listings publish a rider height range (counted September 23, 2026), and the frame and fit guide or a phone call settles fit before you order.
A retailer whose bikes carry the maker's own warranty, with the claim run by our US desk Not a manufacturer. We build nothing, and every specification we print is the maker's own, read at the maker. The brands guide says who builds what.
A journal where every number is checked and dated, written by one named person Not a testing lab. Every figure is the maker's own, read at the maker and recomputed, and where a review reports a ride it says who rode and where. The method is in the author record.
A store with a US phone number and voicemail Not a local mechanic. Warranty work is diagnosed remotely and the repair or replacement coordinated from here; the store directory lists shops near you if you would rather hand the wrench to someone.
A shop open since 2026 Not a company with a long American track record yet. Judge it on the documents on the About page, and pay by credit card: the Fair Credit Billing Act gives you a dispute process we do not control, if your letter reaches the issuer "within 60 days after the first bill with the error was sent to you" (FTC guidance, read September 10, 2026).

Limitations and when this page expires

Six things this page cannot promise, numbered so you can cite them back at us. They are limits on the data and the sources, and the last one says when the whole page should be re-checked.

  1. The catalog figures move. The 188 bikes, 12 brands, 20 trikes and 534 published items were counted from the store's own record on September 10, 2026 and change as stock does. A bike counts when its product type is rideable and it is not tagged as a scooter; a brand is the vendor named on the listing.
  2. The journal count includes this page. The 215 published journal pages were counted on the same day, by category tag, and this page is one of the 8 tagged as a resource. A page published later the same day moves the count, which is why the figure carries its date.
  3. The bird facts are the Cornell Lab's and Audubon's, not ours. They are quoted from species accounts read on September 10, 2026, and nothing here about the hawk was measured by us.
  4. Seven of the sources are our own publications. The shipping, refund, terms, contact, buying and author pages are ours, and so is the short film the two trail photographs come from; where a claim is about us, our policy is the only publisher of it, and the source register says so.
  5. No place is claimed for the cover photograph. The hawk on the cover is a generated illustration of the species on unnamed open grassland; it is not a photograph of a wild bird and it names no location.
  6. This page expires when the shelf count moves by more than a handful of bikes, when a policy linked here changes its terms, or when the journal's category counts change materially. Re-verify at that point; the date on each figure tells you what to re-check.

Frequently asked questions

Who is Redtail eBikes?

A US electric bike store that sells online only and ships free to every address in the lower 48, with a curated shelf of e-bikes and trikes from twelve makers. The store's own contact page describes it in one sentence, and the corporate record behind it is set out on the About page, where you can check it yourself.

Who writes the Redtail journal and reviews the bikes?

Milad Ghobadibeygvand, BScN (Western University, 2014), whose byline is on every one of the 215 published pages. His author record sets out the credential, the method, and the email address for corrections.

How are the bikes rated and reviewed?

On data and math. Every specification in a review is read at the manufacturer's own page and linked; watt-hours are recomputed from the maker's voltage and amp-hour figures; recalls are searched in the federal database by brand and model on a printed date. Reviews carry no star ratings. They end with a family-fit module that names who the bike suits and who should read another of ours instead.

Why is it called Redtail?

For the red-tailed hawk, which the Cornell Lab of Ornithology calls "probably the most common hawk in North America" and which occupies "just about every type of open habitat on the continent" (Cornell Lab, read September 10, 2026). A shelf that runs from commuters to cargo trikes wanted a bird that is at home everywhere. The scream you hear from eagles in films is this bird's too.

Is there a Redtail store I can visit?

No. Redtail sells online only, in the words of its own contact page, and there is no showroom. If you want to sit on a bike before buying, the store directory lists verified shops by city and state. Most listings here publish a rider height range (121 of 210 on September 23, 2026), and the frame and fit guide covers the rest, so the fit is settled before a box is opened.

What does Redtail eBikes sell?

Electric bikes and trikes from 12 brands: Eunorau, Addmotor, Eahora, Himiway, Ridstar, Velotric, Hitway, Samebike, Freesky, Riding'times, YVY and Qiolor, plus parts and accessories. On the count date that was 188 bikes, 20 of them trikes, inside 534 published items. Every brand has its own collection page on the store, and all 188 bikes sit on one page.

Who are e-bikes for?

Commuters replacing a car trip, parents carrying children and groceries, riders over 250 lb or over 6'2" whom ordinary bikes have ignored, people over 65 who want the hills back, and anyone who wants to go further than legs alone will take them. Each of those readers has a guide written by name in the journal.

Where can I ride an e-bike?

That depends where you live, and a machine that is a bicycle in one state can be something else across the line. Start at your own row in the 50-state law table, which links each one to the statute behind it; 33 states have a full page, and the trail atlas covers riding off the road. Our terms of service say the same thing more bluntly: operating the bike legally where you live is your responsibility.

Do e-bikes have to be registered?

It depends on the state and on the class of bike, and the answer is in your state's row of the law table, linked to the statute that decides it. Read that row before you buy, because a machine that is a bicycle in one state can need a plate in the next.

How reliable are e-bikes?

Reliability cannot be honestly read off a specification sheet, so no page here ranks brands by it. Here is how to check any brand in two minutes, ours included: search the federal recall database by brand and then by the exact model name, because the two searches return different things. The best e-bike brands guide gives you a four-question test to run on any brand, including the ones we do not sell.

What is in the Redtail journal?

Two hundred and fifteen pages on September 10, 2026: 80 city and state shop directories, 48 reviews and brand profiles, 45 buying guides, 34 e-bike law pages and 8 resources. Every page is written to the same method, carries a dated verified line, and links its sources. The reviews hub, the law table and the store directory are the three doors into it.

The bottom line

If the documents hold, you have two doors: the shelf, or the guide written for your row in the table above. Either way the bike ships free to the lower 48, and a US desk files the claim if the carton arrives dented. If you need to ride before you pay, or want a bike we do not stock, the store directory lists verified shops near you; ask them what is on the floor.

Take none of this on trust. Each claim above comes with the document that makes it, so check before you decide. The phone at (213) 444-4020 takes a voicemail when nobody picks up, and email to support@redtailebikes.com is typically answered within one business day.

Twelve brands on one page, filtered by the way you ride, with free shipping to the lower 48 and a US desk that files the claim if the carton arrives dented.

First-party datasets. The catalog, price and journal counts on this page were produced by querying our own store record on September 10, 2026: 534 published products, of which 188 are rideable electric bikes and trikes (20 trikes) from 12 brands, and 215 published journal pages by category tag: 80 shop directories, 48 reviews and profiles (39 single-bike reviews, 8 brand profiles, 1 hub), 45 buying guides, 34 law pages and 8 resources.

A product counts when a customer can reach it; a brand is the vendor field, excluding our own house entry; a scooter is excluded whether the store records it in the product type or in its own scooter tag. The same 188 bikes are the ones listed at redtailebikes.com/collections/all-ebikes.

Prices were read from the same record on the same day: $509.99 to $4,699 across the 188, at a median of $1,699, with 50 of them under $1,000, and the shelf is browsable in price order. The rider-height figure comes from reading all 210 published bike listings on September 23, 2026: 121 print a numeric rider height range for their own model and 89 do not, with no listing unreadable; the listings themselves are browsable in title order.

Image credit. The cover plate is generated with Playcut (playcut.ai) and its type is composited afterwards; it depicts the species on unnamed grassland and is not a photograph of a wild bird. The two trail photographs are frames from our own short film, Welcome To Redtail Ebikes, published on the Redtail Electric Bikes USA channel. The chart is drawn from the first-party dataset above.
