How we verified this brand profile. Every figure was read on September 26, 2026 from Tesway's US product pages, records, dimension drawings and manuals, and our prices from our own store that afternoon. Range and fit are computed with published physics and the US Army's 6,068-body survey; each of our five Tesway reviews sets out the arithmetic for its bike. The recall search ran in the CPSC's database under four names.

You are choosing among five machines that share a family look on Tesway's product pages: fat 20-inch or 26-inch tires, a color display unlocked by an NFC card, hydraulic disc brakes and a rear rack, and we sell all five. What separates them is the drive, the pack and the frame, and each card below leads with the one that decides it.
Frame before motor: Tesway's drawings give all five the same 5'3" to 6'5" rider window, yet their seat posts top out between 38 and 40 inches (the X9 Ultra's at 38, the C5 AWD's at 40), and the post decides whether a tall rider sits where a bike fitter would put the saddle.
The fit section puts a number on each model for your height, and the C5 AWD Cargo reaches the formula height for more riders at 5'10" and 6'0" than any other Tesway we sell.

Choose it when the climbing or the ground is the question: on a 6% grade at 12 to 16 mph, our X7 AWD review computes the two motors drawing 17 to 19% less per mile than one, and 155 miles at 16 mph on level pavement. $1,799 · maker's list $2,699The X5 AWD carries the X7 AWD's two motors and pack on a frame you step through. Tesway's FAQ says the two differ in "the exterior design of the frame" and that "Other functions are the same." Its drawing lists a 22.8-inch standing height against the X7's 24.4.

Its 60 V 30 Ah pack holds 1,800 Wh, which Tesway rates at 70 to 100 miles on one motor and 50 to 70 on two.

Tesway's drawing gives it the same 5'3" to 6'5" window as the others and a 32 to 38-inch seat, the lowest post of the five, so the model favors riders under about 5'6": the post reaches the formula saddle height for 98 of 100 riders at 5'2" and 49 at 5'6" (the fit table).

Its drawing gives a 16-inch standing height and a 33 to 40-inch seat on a 55-inch wheelbase.

The top speed is Tesway's published figure and "as delivered" each page's "Default Speed" row. Range and charge time are Tesway's own words; the computed range for a named rider and speed is in the next section.
Every one of the five is a fat-tire machine: 20 × 4.0 Kenda tires on the four 52 V models and 26 × 4.0 Kendas on the X9 Ultra. Every one has a color display that the included NFC cards unlock, a Shimano 7-speed drivetrain and four-piston hydraulic brakes. The AWD models add a key that switches between one motor and two; the C5 AWD adds turn signals and a dual-leg kickstand.
The pack is the family trait. Tesway's About Us page states the brand's vision as "Become a globally recognized brand for ultra-long-range high-performance e-bikes!", and four of the five carry the same 52 V 60 Ah battery, which our parts collection sells as a spare. The X9 Ultra's 60 V pack is its own.

For a 180 lb rider on level pavement at each bike's delivered speed, on the throttle, the four 52 V Tesways compute to 152 to 162 miles and the X9 Ultra to 91. Easy pedaling at 75 W lifts each figure by roughly two-fifths, and an 8% climb at 10 mph cuts it to 16 to 32 miles.

Full-pack miles for a 180 lb rider plus load on level pavement unless a grade is named, 77 °F air, no wind, one steady speed. "Motor only" is the throttle and "Pedal 75 W" easy pedaling, both at each bike's delivered speed, 16 mph and the X9 Ultra's 15; the last two columns are on the throttle. The X7 PRO rides its one motor; the others ride both.
The X9 Ultra row is its 60 V 30 Ah pack; the 60 V 25 Ah Orange build holds five-sixths of that energy. Each figure comes from that bike's saved range model, printed in full in its own review.
Why does the X7 PRO go farthest on the flat? In the motor model behind these rows, built on Bafang's published hub-motor figures, one motor at light load wastes less than two sharing the same work, so on level ground the single hub computes a few percent ahead of the AWD models.
The picture turns on a hill: the X7 PRO spends 217 Wh per 1,000 feet on an 8% grade at 10 mph against 197 Wh for the X7 AWD, and past a 10% grade the X7 PRO's rider pedals.
The X9 Ultra's lower row comes from its pack: 1,800 Wh against 3,120 Wh.
Tesway's own figures for it read as steady rides in the model: 70 to 100 miles on one motor is the throttle at about 14 to 19 mph, and 50 to 70 miles on two is about 19 to 25 mph, for a 180 lb rider on level pavement. For planning, keep a fifth of the pack in hand: Tesway's manuals suggest charging "when the power is less than 20 percent". On the 16 mph throttle ride that keeps 130 miles on the X7 PRO, 124 on the X7 AWD and X5 AWD, 122 on the C5 AWD Cargo and 73 on the X9 Ultra at 15 mph.
Range, in one line Four Tesways carry 3,120 Wh and compute to 152 to 162 miles at 16 mph on the throttle for a 180 lb rider on level pavement; the X9 Ultra's 1,800 Wh computes to 91 at 15 mph. Plan on four-fifths of your row, and add the climbing.

Riders are the US Army's 6,068 surveyed bodies at each height; the saddle formula is 109% of inseam from the pedal axle (Peveler et al., 2005), and each bike's crank, crank height and seat-post angle are read from its drawing or Tesway's studio photograph. Tesway's window is printed on every drawing; the table sits beside it.
The difference is where each saddle sits at full height above the pedal axle, set against the 109% formula.
At the top of its post, the C5 AWD puts the formula saddle height within reach of a 34.6-inch inseam, against 34.0 inches on the X5 AWD, 33.5 on the two X7s and 31.6 on the X9 Ultra, so a 6'0" rider fits the C5 best, and a taller rider on the X9 Ultra rides with the saddle below the formula height.
Standover runs the other way. The drawings give a 16-inch standing height on the C5 AWD, 22.8 on the X5 AWD, 24.4 on the two X7s and 28 on the X9 Ultra, so the C5 and X5 are the two to step through. Buy the C5 AWD in SageOne motor or two, and no mid-drive
Every Tesway we sell drives its wheels with hub motors, and four of the five put one in each wheel. The X7 PRO's manual describes a bike "driven by a motor embedded in the hub of the rear wheel"; the AWD manuals add a front hub and the key that chooses between them.
On the X7 AWD, X5 AWD and X9 Ultra, the manual says to "Press the Info key to switch between Single and Dual Drive modes"; the C5 AWD's manual names the Operate key. A hub motor turns with its wheel, so the chain and gears set your cadence and the hub's load stays with the road.
What do two motors buy? Run on Bafang's figures for a comparable hub, the X7 AWD's model puts one motor within 4% of two on level pavement, and the X7 PRO's single hub computes the longest flat range of the five. On a 6% grade at 12 to 16 mph the pair draws 17 to 19% less per mile than one, because each motor works nearer its efficient load.

The class question: rated 1,000 W and up
Settle this before ordering: every Tesway we sell carries a motor rating above the 750 W in the federal definition. The federal line is 15 U.S.C. § 2085(b): "fully operable pedals and an electric motor of less than 750 watts (1 h.p.)", with a maximum speed on motor power alone, for a 170-pound operator, "less than 20 mph".
The five are rated at 1,000 W (the X7 PRO), 2,000 W for the pair (the X7 AWD, X5 AWD and C5 AWD) and 2,400 W for the pair (the X9 Ultra). Each is delivered at 15 or 16 mph and publishes a top speed of 32 to 43 mph, and the manuals describe a full power mode that riders "should check against local laws to ensure full power mode is permitted".
A delivered speed moves a Tesway across a speed line and leaves the motor's rating where it is. On the X7 PRO's page Tesway adds that its "Factory-locked mode complies with 250W and 25 km/h limits", which describes how the bike behaves as set.
Federal wording asks about capability. The Bureau of Land Management's class 2 definition, 43 CFR 8340.0-5(j)(2), describes a motor "not capable of providing assistance when the bicycle reaches the speed of 20 miles per hour".
Read one way, a limit set at the factory answers that; read the other, a limit the rider can change does not. The regulation's text does not settle which, and either reading leaves a motor rated at 1,000 W or more above the 750 W the definitions name.
How each state treats a machine rated above 750 W, and what riding one on its roads requires, is the state's decision; California, for one, builds its definition on "an electric motor that does not exceed 750 watts of power" (Cal. The number that starts the class question Each Tesway's motor rating, 1,000 W on the X7 PRO and 2,000 or 2,400 W for the pairs on the others, sits above the 750 W the federal definition names; the delivered 15 or 16 mph does not change the rating, so your state's rule for such a machine is the one to read.
Ask before you order. Tell us your state and the roads you use, and we will answer with the rule for a machine above 750 W on them. All five ship free inside the contiguous United States.
Compare the five TeswaysCarrying a passenger
Tesway's pages and manuals point two ways on a second rider, and both are printed here. The C5 AWD's page describes "room for kids, cargo, and everyday essentials" and a frame that "supports up to 450 lbs, giving you the capacity for passengers, cargo, and everything in between", and our parts collection sells Tesway's passenger seat and child safety rails.
Against that, the C5 AWD's own manual, like the other three, describes a bike "designed for regular country road use for a single person". Before anyone rides behind you, write to us: we will put the question to Tesway and send you its answer in writing, with the load limit once a passenger is counted. Trails and federal land
Off the road, the landowner or the land agency decides. On Bureau of Land Management land, 43 CFR 8340.0-5 confines the e-bike definition to a motor "of not more than 750 watts (1 h.p.)".
Breaking those rules on BLM land can bring "a fine of not more than $1,000" or imprisonment "for not longer than 12 months", or both, under 43 CFR 8340.0-7. In a National Forest, 36 CFR 261.13 ties motor vehicle use to the district's motor vehicle use map.
Each agency's rule is set out in our public-land e-bike guide. Tesway's manuals caution against "extreme maneuvers, such as extreme off-road use, jumping, or carrying an excessive load".
Who is behind Tesway
Tesway describes itself as "a prominent name in the electric bike industry established in 2016", and its European store calls it "a branch of Tesgo". Both statements are Tesway's own, read on its US About Us page and its European About Us page on September 26, 2026.
The US page sets out the mission as "Enhance lives through continuous innovation in high-performance e-bikes!" and describes the engineering in four steps: "advanced 3D design technology", hydroforming that "shapes aluminum tubes by injecting heated oil under high pressure into a 3D mold", special tube geometry and "Robotic welding". Tesway also runs a dealer program and regional stores outside the United States.
On safety certification, Tesway's pages for the X7 PRO, X7 AWD and X5 AWD state that "The entire e-bike system is UL 2849 certified by TÜV, while the battery pack is UL 2271 certified", and the X9 Ultra's page says its system "is UL 2849 certified by TÜV, with a UL 2271 certified battery".
UL 2849 covers "Electrical Systems for eBikes" and UL 2271 "Batteries for Use In Light Electric Vehicle (LEV) Applications". A landlord or insurer who wants the certificates can have them: ask us, and we will request copies from Tesway in writing.
Tesway's customers speak on its own pages too. On September 26, 2026, the US product pages carried 22 owner reviews for the X7 AWD, 17 for the X9 Ultra, 15 for the X7 PRO and 7 for the X5 AWD.
Tesway's record in the CPSC register
On September 26, 2026, no recall in the Consumer Product Safety Commission's database named Tesway. The CPSC's recall data was searched in its recall-title, product-name and manufacturer fields for Tesway, TESWAY, teswaybike and Tesgo, the parent company Tesway's European page names: 0 records in each of the twelve searches.
Before that silence counted, the same CPSC queries were run on makers with known recalls and found them: Ancheer 1, Specialized 54, Trek 24. Every field of a 623-record corpus of bicycle, e-bike, battery and scooter recalls was then read as well, and no record in it names Tesway or Tesgo.
If a recall is ever issued for a Tesway, the CPSC's own notice governs, and the expiry conditions say when this section is re-read.
Warranty, delivery and returns
On an order placed here, the warranty route runs through us: send photos and your order number, and we open the claim with Tesway and follow it to the repair or replacement. Our terms of service put it this way: "We will help facilitate warranty claims with the manufacturer". Tesway's own warranty terms are on its site, and a question about how they apply to your order comes to us first.
Delivery is free on every e-bike inside the contiguous United States. Our shipping policy gives 1 to 3 business days to prepare an order and "most e-bikes arrive within 5–10 business days after dispatch". Note any damage with the carrier and email us photos within 48 hours of delivery, and we file the carrier claim and arrange the repair or replacement.

Stand with a hardcover book pulled up snugly where a saddle sits and measure from the floor to its spine; then find your height in the fit table, which sets the saddle by the 109% formula. Your storage, your lift and your car rack
Plan for 106 to 139 lb and about 73 to 78 inches of length on Tesway's drawings, a ground-floor place to keep it, and a car rack rated above the bike's weight. With the pack out, the X7 AWD and X5 AWD weigh about 89 lb on Tesway's figures.
Where you will charge
Tesway gives "About 7 hours" for four models and "About 10 hours" for the X7 PRO, and the manuals ask for a charge "when the power is less than 20 percent". Pick a spot where you can check on the charger.

Tesway sells from its own US store at teswaybike.com and runs regional stores abroad; its About Us page gives 2016 as the year it was established, and its European page calls it "a branch of Tesgo". We sell all five of its US models, priced to match Tesway's own store (who is behind Tesway).
Who makes Tesway e-bikes?
Tesway's European About Us page describes Tesway as "a branch of Tesgo", and the US page describes a brand "established in 2016" that designs its frames with "advanced 3D design technology", hydroforming and robotic welding. For a Tesway bought here, warranty claims come to us and we take them up with Tesway.
How fast do Tesway e-bikes go?
Tesway delivers four models at 16 mph and the X9 Ultra at 15 mph, and publishes top speeds of 32 mph (X7 PRO), 38 mph (X7 AWD, X5 AWD, C5 AWD) and 43 mph (X9 Ultra). Every one of the five is rated above 750 W, so your state's rule decides where and how each may be ridden (the class section).
How far can a Tesway go on one charge?
Computed with a validated cycling-power model for a 180 lb rider holding the delivered speed on the throttle over level pavement: 162 miles on the X7 PRO, 155 on the X7 AWD and X5 AWD, 152 on the C5 AWD Cargo and 91 on the X9 Ultra at 15 mph. Easy pedaling adds roughly two-fifths, and an 8% climb at 10 mph cuts each to 16 to 32 miles (the range table).
Does Tesway make a dual-motor e-bike?
Yes: the X7 AWD, X5 AWD, X9 Ultra and C5 AWD Cargo each put a hub motor in both wheels, with a key on the display that switches between one motor and two. The X7 PRO is the single-motor Tesway, with one rear hub (one motor or two).
Does Tesway make a mid-drive e-bike?
Not among the five we sell: every one drives its wheels with hub motors, one on the X7 PRO and two on the others. Our e-bike motor guide sets hub motors against mid-drives, and we will name a mid-drive we sell for your ride on request.
What is the Tesway warranty if I buy from Redtail?
Warranty claims on an order placed here come to us: send your order number and photos, and we open the claim with Tesway and follow it through. Our terms of service say we "help facilitate warranty claims with the manufacturer", and Tesway's warranty terms govern the coverage itself (warranty, delivery and returns).
What is the return policy on a Tesway from Redtail?
A bike still sealed in its factory packaging can be returned if you ask within 72 hours of delivery, less a 15% restocking fee and the return shipping, and a canceled order carries a 3% transaction fee. Damage in transit is different: photos within 48 hours, and we file the carrier claim (the terms section).
How long does delivery take?
Our shipping policy gives 1 to 3 business days to prepare the order and "most e-bikes arrive within 5–10 business days after dispatch", free inside the contiguous United States (delivery terms).
Can a Tesway carry a passenger or a child seat?
Tesway's C5 AWD page promotes "room for kids, cargo, and everyday essentials", and our parts collection sells Tesway's passenger seat and child safety rails, while the manuals describe a bike for "a single person". Both are printed in the passenger section; write to us before anyone rides behind you, and we will get Tesway's answer in writing.
Is there a Tesway cargo trailer?

What is the NFC card for on a Tesway?
It turns the display on: the X7 PRO's manual says to "Press the power button or use the NFC card to turn on the display", two cards come in the box, and a replacement is $25.99 in our parts collection.

Both are brands we sell, and both build fat-tire machines with dual-motor models. Choose by the same three figures on each: the pack in watt-hours, the rated motor and the seat range against your inseam.
