How we verified this directory — Milad Ghobadibeygvand, BScN
This directory rests on seven e-bike makers' dealer maps, OpenStreetMap, Yelp, Superpages, Google Maps, eight answer-engine questions and each business's own website. The Census geocoder placed every address inside or outside Vacaville.
A business is counted when its own website sells e-bikes or a maker's map lists it as a dealer. Closed shops, warehouses, repair-only listings and online stores that name no e-bike are listed by name and not counted. Last verified October 5, 2026; next check April 2027.
Quick Answer
One store inside Vacaville sells e-bikes on a page of its own, as read on October 4, 2026: MotoXotica Annex at 360 Merchant Street, 1.2 miles from the city's center point. The next e-bike floor is Fisk's Cyclery in Dixon, 10.0 miles out, and Google Maps marks Ray's Cycles, also on Merchant Street, temporarily closed.
Settle the class and the battery with the buying guide before you visit, and read the state rules on the California law page.
Vacaville counted 103,994 residents in the Census Bureau's 2024 estimate, and the Yolo-Solano air district places it in "the northeastern portion of Solano County." The carousel on the cover turns at Nut Tree Plaza, where, in Visit Vacaville's words, the shopping center keeps "a breathtaking carousel and the original Nut Tree Railroad Train."

City Coach, FAST and Capitol Corridor — Taking Your eBike Along
Vacaville's buses carry racks, Fairfield's FAST buses bar e-bikes from theirs, and the Capitol Corridor trains take your e-bike aboard.
City Coach. Vacaville City Coach says on its route page that "All buses are equipped for wheelchair access and bike racks," and an adult single ride costs $1.50. Its route, fare and rider-tools pages state no e-bike rule, so call 707-449-6000 before you rack a heavy battery bike.
FAST. The bicycle rules of FAST, the City of Fairfield's transportation division, say "Each bicycle cannot exceed 50 pounds" and "E-bikes and gas-powered bikes are not allowed." Ride your e-bike into Fairfield; it cannot go on a FAST rack.
SolanoExpress. City Coach's Beyond Vacaville page lists the SolanoExpress B Line to Dixon, Davis, Fairfield, Benicia and Pleasant Hill, with customer service at 707.422.2877. No e-bike rule for those buses could be found on October 5, 2026, so ask that number before you board.
Capitol Corridor and Amtrak. Capitol Corridor's bike page lists "Electric bikes" among what is allowed on board, and BikeLink eLockers "costing 5 cents an hour" stand at its Fairfield-Vacaville station. Amtrak's bike FAQ allows "Electric bicycles under 50 lbs." in checked baggage and on trains with walk-on bike service.
Where riders get caught out: Capitol Corridor's page sets no weight for e-bikes, while Amtrak's FAQ sets 50 pounds. If yours weighs more, ask Capitol Corridor before you ride to the platform.
Taking the train from Fairfield-Vacaville? The folding guide has a section for the rider who takes a train, then rides again at the other end, and its picks ship free to Vacaville.
Compare folding e-bikesVacaville's Bike Paths — Alamo Creek and Lagoon Valley
The City's bike-path page describes three kinds of bikeway: Class I paths, Class II lanes and Class III routes. It asks riders to take care "particularly on a Class I Bike Path or a Class III Bike Route, where the route is shared with pedestrians and vehicles."
Alamo Creek and the Lagoon Valley loop
According to the same page, the Alamo Creek bike trail and the Lagoon Valley loop made the Solano Transportation Authority's list of "Top Ten Bike Rides" for Solano County. The page links maps of the City's bike paths and the 2016 Solano-Yolo bike links map.
What a Class I path means for your e-bike
A Class I path, in the City's words, is a "dedicated exclusive bike path meant for bike and pedestrian traffic." Vacaville's § 10.36.048 adds that "No pedestrian shall proceed along a bicycle path or lane where there is an adjacent adequate pedestrian facility," so expect to meet walkers wherever no sidewalk runs beside your path.
Ride the paths at bicycle speed. Class I paths here are shared with walkers by design, and the City asks for care wherever a route is shared.
Commuting on Alamo Creek? The commuter guide's long-range section plans for a 30-mile round trip with the groceries aboard, and free shipping covers every pick to Vacaville.

California sets the classes, ages and helmet rules for every rider in the state. Vacaville's own code then speaks to sidewalks, skate parks, a four-dollar license and the penalty.
What the state counts as an e-bike
Under Vehicle Code § 312.5(a), an e-bike is "a bicycle equipped with fully operable pedals and an electric motor that does not exceed 750 watts of power."
| Class | How the motor helps | Top assisted speed | Who may ride |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Pedal assist only | 20 mph | Any age; helmet under 18 |
| 2 | Pedal assist or throttle | 20 mph | Any age; helmet under 18 |
| 3 | Pedal assist only, with a speedometer | 28 mph | 16 and older; helmet for everyone (§ 21213) |
Under § 312.5(d), a vehicle "intended by the manufacturer to be modifiable" past 20 mph on motor power alone, or past 750 watts, is not an e-bike.
Under § 24016(b), "an electric bicycle is not a motor vehicle," so it needs no license, registration or plate. On the road, § 21200 gives you the rights and duties of a driver.
Section 21213 says "A person under 16 years of age shall not operate a class 3 electric bicycle." Under § 21212, a rider under 18 without a helmet faces a fine of "not more than twenty-five dollars ($25)."
Vacaville's sidewalk rule, § 10.52.180
Vacaville's code on eCode360 "Includes legislation through 08-25-2026." Its § 10.52.180 says "No person shall ride or operate a bicycle on any sidewalk in front of schools, stores, or buildings used for business purposes."
The same section allows riding on residential sidewalks "only for juveniles under the age of ten years," so an adult rides neither in front of a home nor in front of a store, school or business.
Two readings of the bicycle rule
The chapter "is adopted pursuant to Section 21206 of the Vehicle Code" (§ 10.52.010), and its § 10.52.020 bicycle is "propelled by human power through a belt, chain or gears." Read through the state's § 231, "An electric bicycle is a bicycle," and § 10.52.180 applies to you.
Read through the City's own words, the chapter's § 10.52.030 defines a separate "motorized bicycle," with "a motor which produces less than two gross brake horsepower," and § 10.04.270 treats as a vehicle any device that carries a person or goods on a street, except one "moved by human power" or run on rails.
Then § 10.40.020 says a person "shall not drive a vehicle" in "any parkway or sidewalk." Under either reading, an adult keeps off the sidewalks in front of homes, schools and businesses.
The license, the skate parks and the fine
Section 10.52.050 still says "All bicycles operated in the city shall be licensed," at four dollars. The state's § 39002(a) now says a city with a licensing ordinance "shall not prohibit the operation of an unlicensed bicycle."
At City skate parks, § 10.54.060 says "Use, riding, or operation of any bicycle is strictly prohibited" at any city-owned or city-controlled skateboard park. Under § 10.54.070, that chapter applies where its signs are "conspicuously posted at all entrances to the property or along the boundaries of the property."
Two texts set the penalty. The City's § 1.16.010 makes a violation "a misdemeanor unless the violation is made an infraction or civil fine by ordinance," with a fine under Government Code § 36901 that "shall not exceed one thousand dollars ($1,000)."
The state's § 40000.1 makes breaking "any local ordinance adopted pursuant to this code" an infraction, and § 42001(a) caps a first one at "a fine not exceeding one hundred dollars ($100)."
For a rider under 18, § 10.52.221 lets the chief of police, in place of a fine, keep the bicycle off city streets "for a period not to exceed thirty days" and impound it for that time.
What changes on January 1, 2027
Two bills the Governor approved on September 30, 2026 take effect on January 1, 2027, the date the California Constitution's Article IV, § 8 sets for them. From January 1, 2027, AB 2346, Chapter 842, makes "10 miles per hour" "the prima facie speed limit for a sidewalk" where riding is allowed.
From January 1, 2027, SB 1167, Chapter 846, means a vehicle "with motor power of more than 750 watts" can no longer be sold or labeled as an e-bike.
Vacaville, in one line: ride the street or a bike lane, stay off the sidewalks in front of homes, schools and businesses, leave the bike outside the skate park, and keep Class 3 for riders 16 and up.
Buying a first e-bike for a teenager? The first-bike guide translates Class 1, 2 and 3 into where each may ride, and its picks ship free to Vacaville.

Pedal Forward and the rebates
Pedal Forward. The Yolo-Solano Air Quality Management District's e-bike voucher is open to households in "Yolo County or the northeastern portion of Solano County, which includes Dixon, Vacaville, and Rio Vista," with a standard voucher of up to $750 and up to $1,500 for income-qualified applicants.
On October 5, 2026, its page said "Voucher recipients have been selected and notified" and "Applications are now closed," and that the district hopes to offer the program again. Its vouchers covered Class 1 and Class 2 bikes certified to UL 2271, UL 2849 or European Standard 15194, so check your next bike for those marks before the next round opens.
The state. The Air Resources Board's E-Bike Incentive Project "began in December 2022 and concluded in December 2025."
Why buy from us instead

Is there an e-bike shop in Vacaville?
Yes, one: you can shop e-bikes at MotoXotica Annex, 360 Merchant Street, which sells them on its own page, as read on October 4, 2026, and Bosch lists it as a dealer. It opens Tuesday to Saturday. If you want a second store to compare, Fisk's Cyclery in Dixon is 10.0 miles away.
Is Ray's Cycle in Vacaville open?
Google Maps marked Ray's Cycles at 921 Merchant Street temporarily closed on October 4, 2026, and the shop's own site names no e-bikes. Call before you go; if you want an e-bike, MotoXotica Annex is on the same street.
Where can you get an e-bike repaired in Vacaville?
MotoXotica Annex lists service at its bicycle store and asks you to call for an appointment before you drop your bike off, at (707) 474-5522. If you can drive to Dixon, Fisk's Cyclery says it assembles and repairs electric bikes, Tuesday through Saturday.
What are the e-bike laws in Vacaville?
State law sets three classes up to 750 watts, and you must be 16 or older to ride a Class 3. In Vacaville, § 10.52.180 keeps your bike off sidewalks in front of schools, stores and businesses, allowing residential sidewalks only for children under 10, and § 10.54.060 bars bicycles from City skate parks that post its signs.
Do you need a license to ride an e-bike in Vacaville?
No. Under § 24016(b) your legal e-bike needs no driver's license, registration or plate. Vacaville's § 10.52.050 still calls for a four-dollar bicycle license, but state law says a city with such an ordinance "shall not prohibit the operation of an unlicensed bicycle."
Where are the bike trails in Vacaville?
The City's bike-path page names the Alamo Creek bike trail and the Lagoon Valley loop among the Solano Transportation Authority's top ten rides. You will share both with walkers, so keep your speed to a bicycle's.

The denominator
Vacaville had 103,994 residents in the Census Bureau's 2024 vintage estimate (California file, row "Vacaville city"), against a 2020 estimates base of 102,388.
Seven Vacaville listings, belonging to six businesses, were given a verdict: 1 verified, the same business's motorcycle store across the street, 2 closed, 1 warehouse, 1 online store and 1 repair listing.
Stores that are not bike shops were set aside before verdicts: a sporting-goods chain whose listing names no e-bike, an RV dealer, shoe and apparel outlets, a farm-supply store and motorcycle shops. Every bike shop the directories, map searches and answer engines turned up within 10 miles was read too; one more is an e-bike floor.
The sources, and what each one could and could not do
Seven makers' dealer maps were each read to 10 miles on October 4, 2026, with a control for every one: Velotric, Aventon, Giant, Bosch, Specialized, Trek and Pedego's California directory. Trek's map carries no e-bike mark, so its one row, Ray's Cycles, was a lead.
Directories and AI search. Search results on Yelp and Superpages were read page by page in a browser, and Google Maps listings were read for the leads. Of seven answer engines asked eight questions, five answered all eight; Brave showed no AI answer, and Copilot showed a sign-in wall.
Every lead the engines named was read. Ray's Cycles came up in 26 of the 40 answers and MotoXotica in 22, and three engines still named Velo Wrench.
The city code was read on eCode360. Across all 21 of its titles, the words e-bike and ebike appear nowhere; electric bicycle appears only in the reference table that lists the state statutes, and motorized bicycle only in §§ 10.52.030 and 10.52.203.
SolanoExpress. solanoexpress.com refused the connection on October 5, 2026. The Solano Transportation Authority's page, which says SolanoExpress routes are operated by SolTrans, states no bike rule, and every page on SolTrans's sitemap was read without finding one.
City limits
Every Vacaville address counted or ruled out above returned "Vacaville city" from the Census geocoder, except Precision Bicycles' directory address, which it could not match. Every mileage is a straight line from the Census Gazetteer point, so the drive runs longer.
For the cover, Nut Tree Plaza's address and the reference photograph's camera point both returned "Vacaville city."
Limitations
- Whether the bicycle chapter reaches an e-bike is unsettled; both readings are printed above, and both keep you off sidewalks in front of homes, schools and businesses.
- Which penalty applies is unsettled: the City's § 1.16.010 and the state's § 40000.1 are printed together above.
- SolanoExpress's e-bike rule could not be found on October 5, 2026.
- Whether City Coach racks take e-bikes is not stated on its pages.
- Ray's Cycles' reopening date is not published; Google Maps marked it temporarily closed on October 4, 2026.
- A bike shop that no directory, map search or answer engine returned could be missing from the 10-mile ring.
What would age this page
- Ray's Cycles reopening, or a second store selling e-bikes from a Vacaville page of its own.
- A new Pedal Forward round, or the City amending its bicycle chapter.
- January 1, 2027, the day AB 2346's sidewalk limit and SB 1167's labeling rule begin.
