Buy this bike if you want two driven wheels at the cheapest price Eahora sells them, you ride surfaces where grip runs out before power does, and you have read what a published 1,000W combined rating means for your state.
The case for a second motor is traction, and it is a narrow case. On dry tarmac one driven wheel is enough. On wet leaves, loose gravel, packed snow and a steep unpaved driveway, the front wheel pulling while the rear pushes is the difference between climbing and spinning — and a 20-inch fat tire at 4.0 inches wide is already chosen for the same surfaces.
The case against is the charger and the code. Ten hours to fill from empty is an overnight habit and an evening one will fall short, and 1,000 watts puts this machine outside every US state's own definition of a bicycle. Neither is a surprise at this price; both are things to plan around before you order.

What the AI engines tell buyers, and what the manufacturer's own page says
Asked for a review of this bike on September 10, 2026, a web-search-grounded answer returned four figures that Eahora's own current product page does not publish: 90 N·m of torque (Eahora: 2 × 50 N·m), 40° of hill-climbing gradeability (Eahora: 25°–30°), a $1,099 price (Eahora and this store: $999), and a 30–70 mile pedal-assist range (Eahora: 45–62 miles).
Seven of the nine sources that answer leaned on were resellers and spec-aggregator pages instead of Eahora's own listing, which is the mechanism behind every one of those four numbers. The figures in the table above come from the maker's own block, quoted, and they are the ones to compare against another bike.

Read the middle row first, because it is the one that tells you something the US listing does not. Eahora's Canadian page states in its own specification table that the motor output is "factory-limited" and the top speed "factory-set" to meet the road rules of the market it is sold into. The European listing goes further and publishes the motor rating itself at 2 × 250 W, the figure the EU's own pedelec rules are built around.
Three things follow, and only the first is about this bike.
The platform is configurable, and the maker configures it. The battery, the frame, the brakes, the fork, the shock, the drivetrain and the published 91 lb weight are identical across all three listings. What changes between markets is the number the controller is set to.
The number you are buying in the United States is the unlimited one. Eahora's US page publishes 2 × 500 W and 28–33 mph with no limiting language of any kind, and that is the configuration this page screens against every US statute below.
A limit that exists in another market is a question you can ask, in writing, before you order. We do not publish a claim that a US Luna II can be delivered limited, because Eahora does not publish one. What is published is that the same controller is set to 500 W and 32 km/h for Canadian buyers. What the second motor actually buys
The Luna and the Luna II sit $200 apart in the same catalog, on the same frame, at the same published 91 lb weight. Read both specification blocks side by side and the trade is precise.

The headline number does not move. Both bikes publish 1,000 watts nominal. The Luna puts all of it through the back wheel; the Luna II splits it 500 a wheel. Top speed is identical on both pages, and so is the published weight.
So the $200 buys two things and neither of them is speed. It buys a driven front wheel, which is a traction change and only shows up where traction runs out. And it buys 240 more watt-hours, a third more energy, which is the difference between a 58-mile pedal-assist claim and a 62-mile one on the maker's own numbers.
The torque figures are the one place the arithmetic can mislead. Combined, the Luna II publishes 100 N·m against the Luna's 90.
But 50 N·m at each wheel is not 100 N·m at one. A rider who wants a single big shove from a standstill on dry pavement will feel the Luna's undivided 90 more than the Luna II's split 100. Where two wheels beat one is grip, hill starts on loose ground and wet climbs.
Which means the sound way to choose is by surface. If your worst regular surface is a wet road, the Luna at $799 does the same job for less. If it is a gravel driveway, a snowy alley or a fire road, the second motor is what the extra $200 is for.

Both Luna generations publish 1,000 W nominal, 28–33 mph and 91 lb. - $200 buys traction and a third more battery — a driven front wheel, and 960 Wh against 720 Wh. - Pick by your worst surface. That count is a reading rather than a regex result. Fifteen of the fifty listings contain the words dual motor, two motors, AWD or 2 × somewhere in their text.
Thirteen of those fifteen are talking about something else: a comparison row for a sibling model, a negation ("without a dual-motor price", "no dual-motor ambitions"), or an unrelated part ("dual shocks", "hydraulic dual brakes"). Every matched sentence was opened and read before a verdict was recorded, and every one is committed alongside its verdict.

The comparison the number is worth making is against what a buyer is told elsewhere. Asked for the best dual-motor electric bike under $1,000 on the same day, a web-search-grounded answer named two brands neither we nor Eahora sell, cited nine listicles and no manufacturer page, and did not name the Luna II at all. The shelf under $1,000 is being answered by aggregators, which is why this count was measured here.

How far does it really go?
Plan on the lower pair. Eahora's specification block publishes 45–62 miles on pedal assist and 38–46 miles on throttle alone, and the marketing panel higher up the same page publishes a second, lower pair — 44–58 and 35–45. Where a maker publishes two figures for one thing, the conservative one is the one to budget against, and this page uses 38 miles as the number a throttle-heavy rider should plan a route around.
Divide the pack by the miles and you get the energy consumption each claim assumes, which is a figure that can be compared across a whole shelf:

Against our own catalog that is a middling assumption on the optimistic end and a conservative one everywhere else. Across the 87 bikes on our shelf that publish both a base pack and a range belonging to it, the median implied consumption is 12.7 Wh per mile, the 75th percentile is 19.2 and the range runs from 5.8 to 38.4.
The Luna II's most optimistic claim, 15.5, sits between the median and the 75th percentile. Its throttle-only claim of 25.3 sits above the 75th percentile, which is to say it is one of the more conservative throttle numbers on the shelf.
A 91-pound bike moving a rider at a published 28–33 mph on a 20-inch wheel will spend energy faster than a lighter machine at 20 mph, and the fat tire's rolling resistance is real. Treat 38 miles as the planning figure, 62 as the tailwind-and-pedaling figure, and everything between as a function of how much of the work you do yourself.
Charging it, and what a charge costs
Charge it overnight. Eahora publishes a 48V 2A charger for this bike, which delivers 96 watts, and a 960 Wh pack divided by 96 watts is 10.0 hours from empty. The charging question on the Luna II product page's own FAQ answers "approximately 6 to 8 hours to fully charge... from empty." Plan the longer number and the bike is always ready when you need it.
The same charger ships with the 720 Wh Luna, where the same arithmetic gives 7.5 hours. A third more battery on an unchanged charger is two and a half more hours, which is the practical cost of the bigger pack and worth knowing before you build a routine around it.
What a fill costs is small and worth stating precisely. At the US residential average of 18.34 cents per kilowatt-hour for June 2026, a full 0.96 kWh charge costs 17.6 cents. On the 62-mile pedal-assist claim that is 0.28 cents a mile; on the 38-mile throttle figure it is 0.46 cents a mile. A 15-mile commute each way, five days a week, costs under a dollar a week in electricity.

How much does the Luna II weigh?
Eahora publishes 91 lb with the battery installed. That is the figure to plan lifting, racking and storing around, and it is the same figure Eahora publishes for the single-motor Luna — a second hub motor and 5 amp-hours of extra cells at no published weight change.
The payload arithmetic
The published limit is "≤ 330 lbs to ensure the performance and safety." Eahora states it as a max load rather than as a rider weight, so read it as everything the frame carries: you, your clothing, a backpack, whatever is strapped to the rack. A 220 lb rider with a 20 lb pack and 15 lb of groceries is at 255 and inside it with room.
Ninety-one pounds is a two-person lift onto a hitch rack, or a lighter one-person lift with the battery removed first — Eahora publishes no battery-only weight for this pack. Most trunk-mounted racks are rated well below it. If the bike will live up a flight of stairs, this is the number that decides against it, and the Luna will not help — it weighs the same.
Does it fit? The geometry, read in full
Eahora publishes a full lettered geometry table for this frame, which is more than most makers at this price do. Read the seat height first: it decides comfortable fit more precisely than the height range.

Two numbers do the work. The 24.2-inch standover is low for a fat-tire bike and is what makes swinging a leg over manageable for a shorter rider. Eahora publishes no "step-through" wording for this frame on any of its three storefronts, so judge it on that measurement instead of on a category word.
The 32.3-inch seat-height floor is the harder constraint. A rider at the bottom of the published 5'4" range wants an inseam comfortably past the stated 26.8-inch minimum before ordering.
The 48.8-inch wheelbase on 20-inch wheels is short, which makes the bike quick to turn and busier at speed than a 26-inch machine. The 28-inch bar width and 42.5-inch bar height put the rider upright, which suits the commuting and light-trail use Eahora names for it.

The contrast that matters is Frank and Jack. Every one of the 48 states with a working e-bike statute excludes these published figures. California, Texas and Florida each cap an "electric bicycle" at 750 watts, and the published 28–33 mph is above the 28 mph ceiling every three-class state sets for its fastest class.
Even Rhode Island, whose 1,492-watt ceiling is the most permissive wattage cap in the country and would clear 1,000 watts on power alone, sets its speed ceiling at 28 mph — which the published 33 mph is above. Oregon dropped its own wattage cap in 2024 — this one turns on speed alone: a throttle is permitted only to 20 mph, and the published 33 mph is above the 28 mph ceiling its fastest class sets.
Alaska and Kentucky publish no e-bike definition at all, so there is nothing for these figures to sit inside or outside. Hawaii could not be re-read at its publisher on the date this screen ran and carries no verdict — neither a pass nor a failure, and named here rather than folded into a count.
Sitting outside a bicycle definition is not the same as being unusable. It means the machine is regulated as whatever else that state's motor-vehicle code covers instead — read your own state's row for what that is before you ride it. This is a category fact before it is a fact about any one bike: most 20-inch fat-tire machines published above 750 watts land in the same place, whoever built them.

It named no statute, no state and no section — and it carried a "3000W peak" figure that traces to two Amazon listings this session opened, both of which are listings for a different Eahora model entirely.

Has the Eahora Luna II been recalled?
No — and this is an absence we checked for, not one we assumed.
- The CPSC's complete Product Safety Warning listing, all 359 rows, downloaded fresh on September 10, 2026, contains no row naming Eahora. The same file returns two rows for Ridstar, a brand carrying live federal warnings, which is what confirms the file and the word-boundary match were both working when Eahora returned nothing.

Suspension, brakes and the parts you can check
The specification block names parts instead of describing them, which means you can look every one of them up and price the spares before you buy.
The brakes are hydraulic at both ends, with a published rotor size you can read off the part. Eahora publishes "Hydraulic disc brakes with motor cutoff" on "180mm (φ) x 2.3mm (t) steel rotors" with "2-Piston calipers with semi-metallic pads." Hydraulic actuation at $999 is above what much of this shelf carries, and the motor cutoff at the levers is the safety feature that matters most on a throttle bike.

The published 180 mm rotor size is stamped into the rotor's own spider, visible in Eahora's photograph — a specification you can confirm on the part itself rather than only on the page.
Suspension is coil at both ends and comfort-tier by travel. The fork is "80mm travel coil suspension" and the rear is a "4-Bar-Link coil suspension, 50mm travel." Fifty millimeters of rear travel on a four-bar linkage is tuned for square-edged city hits and packed dirt rather than for descending, and the linkage is what keeps the rear wheel tracking under a driven hub.

The four-bar-link rocker, mounted above the coil shock it drives. A linkage rear end is unusual at this price, where a simple pivot or a hardtail is the norm.
The drivetrain is entry-level Shimano and universally stocked. A "SHIMANO RD-TY300 7 speed" derailleur, a "SHIMANO MF-TZ500-7 14-28T" freewheel and a 48-tooth chainring on 170 mm cranks are parts any bike shop in the country carries. On a machine doing most of its work on two motors, that is a sensible saving and a cheap wear item to replace.

Shimano's Tourney derailleur, visible on the part; the RD-TY300 and MF-TZ500-7 model numbers come from Eahora's published spec sheet rather than the photograph itself. The rear hub motor sits inboard of the freewheel, which is why the wheel is dished the way it is.
Lighting is specified with an output figure, which is rarer than it should be. Eahora publishes a "1,500 Lumens (15W) LED" headlight with a built-in horn and a tail light with an "integrated brake signal blinker." A published lumen figure is a number you can compare; "bright LED headlight" is not.

Eahora publishes the horn as built into this housing, which is why the bike needs no separate bell.

The fitted rear rack carries the brake-actuated tail light in its tail — the load-carrying and the lighting arriving as one part.

The 4-inch color LCD. Its motor switch is what makes the two-motor drivetrain a choice on the move: front only, rear only, or both together.

The published third-party record for this exact configuration is held by the maker's own review app instead of by an independent outlet, and it is labeled here as such.
Eahora's own Luna II product page displays a 5.0 rating over 10 reviews as read on September 10, 2026. Those are reviews collected and displayed by the seller on its own listing, which is a different thing from independent coverage, and they are reported here as testimony instead of as evidence.
Search for a dedicated editorial review of this model and what comes back is a set of reseller listings and auto-generated spec pages. One of them, an aggregator page indexed under this model's name, headlines "171 Specs" and carries no ride account at all; another headlines a rating over a review count of zero. What ships in the crate, per Eahora's own listing: the bike at "85% assembled", the battery with two keys, the charger, a front tire, the headlight, two pedals, and a screw and toolkit set.
