Quick Answer — The Ridstar H20 is a folding 20 × 4.0 fat-tire e-bike with a 48V 15Ah pack and a 1,000 W rear hub motor, by Ridstar's rating. Our listing is sold out. At 15 mph on flat pavement on the throttle alone, a 180 lb rider computes to 43 miles, against Ridstar's "35 miles in pure electric mode".

Ridstar still lists it: on October 20, 2026 ridstar.com's H20 listing showed its US variant in stock, while ridstar.net's 1000W listing read unavailable for US delivery and its H20 Folding listing read available at $600.00. All five of Ridstar's H20 listings sit side by side in the identity section; if you want a folding fat bike from us this week, start with the verdict's three routes.

With the H20 sold out, the folding fat bike we put first is Samebike's RS-A02 Pro: 20 × 4.0 tires, a fork, a rear shock and a "48V 15Ah" pack, the H20's size. Samebike showed all four colors in stock on October 20, 2026, and $939 here is its $999 less the $60 its code S60 takes off. This opens your checkout in Black; White, DarkGreen and Navy are a tap away.

Buy the RS-A02 Pro, $939

Start with the maker's record. In 2026 the Consumer Product Safety Commission twice told owners of specific Ridstar models to stop using them, in 26-337 over Q20 and Q20 Pro batteries and wires that can ignite and in 26-584 over a Q20 or Q20 Lite front wheel that can detach.

The H20 appears in neither, Ridstar had no entry on the CPSC's recall list on October 20, 2026, and the record section counts for you the parts listings the H20 shares with the warned Q20.

How we verified this Ridstar H20 review

The H20's figures here are Ridstar's own, from ridstar.net's H20 1000W listing and ridstar.com's, both read with the US market selected on October 20, 2026, with every photograph opened at full size the same day.

On the same day we read Ridstar's three other H20 listings, the CPSC record, the federal and California statutes quoted below, two Ridstar dealers (ridstar-ebike.com and ridstar.eu), our stock and our checkout, including what it charges to ship. Wherever a figure depends on arithmetic, the section that uses it shows the working, and the green flags face the same check as the red ones. Part of our e-bike reviews.

The H20's figures, as Ridstar printed them

Across its two H20 1000W listings, Ridstar prints five top speeds, two motor ratings, two pack sizes, range in four forms, two charge times and two weights for one bike, and no torque at all. Read across a row and you get our planning figure first, then ridstar.net's words and images, then ridstar.com's.

ridstar.net's text and "Technical Details" tab, and ridstar.com's text, slider and table, as each printed them for US delivery on October 20, 2026; the images are ridstar.net's motor image, its battery image and its banner, read at full size.

The top-speed row is the one to slow down on. ridstar.net's text says "28+++mph" three times, its motor image "31MPH", its banner "25MPH", and ridstar.com prints "Max Speed 20 MPH" in its slider and "35km/h-45km/h", about 22 to 28 mph, in its table. Which of those speeds your state's rules care about is the subject of the class section.

Ridstar's motor image for the H20: a dark close-up of a rear hub and a seven-speed cassette under the words Maximum Speed, Shimano 7 Speed, 1000W, with a stat bar reading 1000W Brushless Motor, 31MPH Top Speed and 7-Speed Shimano Gears

Ridstar's motor image, the fifth photograph on ridstar.net's H20 1000W listing and the seventh on ours. Its "31MPH" is the highest top speed Ridstar prints for the bike.

Where two of Ridstar's figures disagree, the table prints both, and this review leaves the choice to the paperwork that comes with the bike you buy; where arithmetic needs one number, the section names the one it uses.

Five listings, one name: what the H20 is

The H20 is a 20-inch folding fat-tire e-bike, hinged at its main tube, and Ridstar sells it under five listings: three on ridstar.net named "1000W" and "1200W", one there named "Folding", and one on ridstar.com. Our own listing was sold out on October 20, 2026.

Read October 20, 2026 with the US market selected on both Ridstar stores; each date is the listing's creation date in that store's own record. Ridstar's dealers ridstar.eu and ridstar-ebike.com ($999.00) also listed an H20 that day.

Our listing shows the machine on ridstar.net's first H20 1000W listing. Its Ridstar photographs are that listing's seven, photograph for photograph, and five of the seven also run on ridstar.com's listing, whose own studio photographs show the same black frame, wordmark, rack and fenders from four more angles.

The "Folding" and "1200W" listings carry other photographs and other words. The Folding listing promises "dual hydraulic disc brake system" where the 1000W text names "Dual Mechanical Disc Brake", and the 1200W listing says its bike "weighs only 63 pounds" and folds to "39*39*28.7" inches. This review describes the 1000W bike, and prints the other two listings' figures where they differ.

Seven more photographs on our listing, a size chart among them, are seven of ridstar-ebike.com's eight, pixel for pixel. Ridstar's official statement treats every similar website other than ridstar.net as a dealer's, which makes that size chart dealer material, and the fit section labels it that way.

Ridstar's banner for the H20: a rider in a full-face helmet and body armor sitting on a moto-style fat-tire bike with a round headlight, on a rocky trail, beside the lines 1000W Brushless Motor, 48V 15Ah Detachable Battery, 25MPH Max Speed, 35 Miles Throttle and 50 Miles PAS Range, and Faster Charge

The second image on ridstar.net's H20 1000W listing and the fourth on ours. The bike in it is a moto-style machine with a long seat, not the folding H20, under the H20's figures.

The H20 Pro is another machine. Ridstar's H20 Pro listing prints "2000W" and "85NM×2" on its motor image, two motors, and shares no photograph with our H20 listing.

If you own an H20, ridstar.net still sells spares for it on 26 parts listings, its spare battery among them, and the record section counts how many of those also sell parts for the warned Q20.

Who the H20 fits: Ridstar's 5'3" to 6'3" window

Whether both feet touch the floor from the H20's 31.4-inch seat comes down to your height: in ANSUR II, the US Army's body survey, 61 of every 100 riders at 5'6" would sit flat-footed, and 19 of 100 at 5'4". Pedaling asks for a higher saddle: at 109% of inseam, a median rider of 5'8" wants its top 35.6 inches above the pedal axle.

The window comes from two pages. ridstar.com's slider reads "Recommended Height 5'3" -6'3"", and ridstar.net's FAQ says "5.3 to 6.3 feet". A window is a blunt tool, because at a single height the middle 90% of ANSUR II inseams spread over about three inches, and your tape measure settles which end you sit at.

Your fit, in three steps:

  1. Take your inseam in socks: a hardcover book held level and pressed up between your legs stands in for the saddle, and the floor-to-top-edge distance is the number.
  2. Find your height twice, in the seat-reach table for your feet at a stop and in the saddle table for the height your leg wants to pedal.
  3. On delivery day, raise the post until the heel check passes, then ride and look for a knee angle between 25 and 35 degrees when the pedal is at its lowest.

The 31.4 inches is one setting of a post that moves. ridstar.com's table lists an "Adjustable Seat", the manual Ridstar links from its H20 Folding listing says "Adjust seat post according to your height", and no Ridstar page gives the post's travel or the position its figure was taken at.

A dealer's size chart for the H20: a side drawing of the black folding bike with a rear rack and fenders, eight lettered dimensions from A, 170 centimeters or 66.9 inches long, to H, 91 centimeters or 35.8 inches, a folded drawing beside it, and the figures 75 LBS Product Weight, MAX 330 LBS Load Capacity and 5.3 to 6.3 FT Recommended Height

From ridstar-ebike.com's H20 listing, which ridstar.net's statement counts as a dealer; our listing carries it as photograph twelve. Its 170 cm length is 8 cm under the 178 cm on ridstar.com's table, and the dealer's text gives the folded size as "170*102*57cm", that length again, so no dimension in this review is scaled off the chart.

What the model leaves out: ridstar.net's and ridstar.com's H20 listings print no crank length, bottom-bracket height, seat-tube angle or grip position, and the only side drawing is a dealer's. The seat figure goes in as printed, and the lean, the load on your hands and a verdict on the saddle are not computed.

Give us two numbers, your height and your inseam in inches, and the written reply tells you how far your feet sit from the floor on the 31.4-inch seat and where your saddle belongs for pedaling. Unsure about the reach to the bars? Put your arm length in the same email.

Email your inseam to us

Will the H20's saddle go high enough for me?

Every row gives three saddle heights, each measured from the pedal axle up to the saddle top. The center figure is 109% of inseam, which Peveler et al. (2005) compared with the heel method; flanking it are 106%, the low end of the range Ferrer-Roca et al. (2012) call recommended, and 110.4%, the high end of the range their own equation proposes; the band between the two is ours.

The inseams behind each row are the middle 90% of the bodies the Army's ANSUR II survey measured at that height, 6,068 people in all. With no seat range from Ridstar, the table can tell you the height your leg asks for, though whether the H20's post extends that far is a question for the seller.

Your height Typical inseam Saddle top to pedal axle At 106% At 110.4%
5'0" 27.1–29.7 in 31.0 in 30.2 in 31.4 in
5'2" 28.0–31.1 in 32.2 in 31.3 in 32.6 in
5'4" 29.1–32.2 in 33.3 in 32.3 in 33.7 in
5'6" 30.2–33.5 in 34.5 in 33.6 in 34.9 in
5'8" 31.1–34.3 in 35.6 in 34.6 in 36.0 in
5'10" 32.2–35.5 in 36.8 in 35.8 in 37.3 in
6'0" 33.2–36.7 in 38.1 in 37.0 in 38.6 in
6'2" 34.3–37.5 in 39.3 in 38.2 in 39.8 in
6'4" 36.3–39.1 in 41.0 in 39.9 in 41.6 in

Saddle top above the pedal axle, worked from the middle 90% of ANSUR II inseams at each height: 109% in the center column, the band's 106% and 110.4% ends to either side; heights with fewer than 30 bodies get no row. A crank-axle formula such as LeMond's 88.3% would need a crank length, and Ridstar prints none for the H20.

Can I put a foot down at a stop?

At 5'6" and taller, the median rider sits on the H20's 31.4-inch seat with both feet flat, and at 5'4" or shorter fewer than one rider in five does. The arithmetic is a subtraction run body by body: barefoot inseam minus the seat height, with a rider counted as flat-footed when the result is zero or more.

Your height Typical inseam Inseam minus the 31.4 in seat, median rider Riders flat-footed astride it, of 100
5'0" 27.1–29.7 in −3.0 in 0
5'2" 28.0–31.1 in −1.9 in 3
5'4" 29.1–32.2 in −0.9 in 19
5'6" 30.2–33.5 in 0.3 in 61
5'8" 31.1–34.3 in 1.2 in 91
5'10" 32.2–35.5 in 2.4 in 100
6'0" 33.2–36.7 in 3.5 in 100
6'2" 34.3–37.5 in 4.6 in 100
6'4" 36.3–39.1 in 6.2 in 100

The median ANSUR II inseam at each height minus ridstar.com's 31.4-inch seat height, with the number of 100 riders at that height whose inseam is at least the seat height. Below zero, the figure is the gap between the median rider's feet and the floor; shoe soles close part of it.

Lowering the post helps a shorter rider at a stop, and raising it for pedaling takes a taller rider's feet off the floor. How much room the folding main tube leaves when you stand astride the bike cannot be computed, because Ridstar prints no standover height for the H20.

From the 31.4-inch seat, the median 5'4" rider's feet stop 0.9 inches short of the floor, and the median 5'6" rider touches down with 0.3 inches in hand.

Will you sit stretched or cramped on the H20?

How far you lean to the bars is not computed, because the H20's grip reach, stem length and seat-tube angle are not published. Two cockpit numbers do appear on ridstar.com's table, a "Whole Height" of "100cm/39.3 inch" and a "Handlebars Length" of "73cm/28.7 inch", the bar's width, and without the grips' position neither becomes a reach. If the bars worry you, email us your arm length with your inseam.

How much weight goes through your wrists?

No hand-load figure appears here, since no grip position is published for the H20. For scale only: Carahalios (2015) measured about 15% of body weight through the stem on ten road racers riding on the hoods, a stretched racing posture.

An upright folding fat bike is a different shape of machine, so read that 15% as a landmark from another kind of riding and never as a figure for you on the H20.

How do you set the saddle when it arrives?

One frame covers every rider from 5'3" to 6'3", so your adjustments are the seat post and the folding stem. The manual linked from Ridstar's H20 Folding listing includes "Seat post quick release adjustment" in its checks before a ride.

Set the height with the heel check: rest a heel on the pedal at its lowest point, crank pointing down the line of the seat tube, and the leg should just straighten. Hips that rock mean the saddle is too high.

Afterwards, pedal normally and check that the knee keeps 25 to 35 degrees of bend at the bottom, the range Peveler, Pounders and Bishop (2007) attribute to the cycling literature, where Ferrer-Roca et al. (2012) aim for 30 to 40 degrees.

The fit arithmetic, step by step

For each of the 6,068 people in ANSUR II, the model works out three saddle heights, 109%, 106% and 110.4% of inseam measured up from the pedal axle, and one more figure: inseam less 31.4 inches, the leg left over between the H20's seat and the floor.

A worked case, 5'8" (68 inches): the median inseam there is 32.6 inches, the saddle top goes 35.6 inches above the pedal axle at 109%, and seated at 31.4 inches the rider has 1.2 inches of leg to spare above the floor.

Input Value Source
Bodies 6,068 ANSUR II bodies US Army ANSUR II survey
Saddle formula 109% of inseam, from the pedal axle Peveler et al. (2005)
Saddle band 106% and 110.4% of inseam, the ends of the paper's two ranges Ferrer-Roca et al. (2012)
Seat height 31.4 in, ground to seat, one setting ridstar.com's H20 table
Rider window 5'3" to 6'3" the same listing's slider
Crank, seat travel, standover, reach not printed for the H20 ridstar.net's H20 listing and ridstar.com's

A cross-check on the 109%: in the same 2005 study, Greg LeMond's method put the saddle at 109.2 ± 0.9% of inseam, measured from the pedal. No measurement is taken from the dealer's drawing, and Limitations lists what the missing figures leave unanswered.

One rear hub motor, rated 1000W

ridstar.net's H20 page names the motor two ways: a "1000W" with "1500W" set beside it in bold type, and further down "Equipped with a 1200W (PEAK 1500W)brushless motor". The motor image, the banner and the spec rows on both stores all say 1000W, and neither 1000W listing gives a torque figure.

ridstar.com's table calls it a "DC brushless high-speed motor" without naming whoever builds it. Ridstar's "1200W" listing contradicts itself: its motor image claims "PEAK 2000W", "36MPH", "85NM" and "40° SLOPE" over text reading "1000w (PEAK 1500W)", and this review uses none of the image's numbers.

Speed comes from a twist grip. In ridstar.net's words, "Twisting the throttle releases your thumb for effortless speed control and enhanced safety", and Ridstar's parts store lists a "Turning Handle Throttle (two keys included)" at $59 in its "US / H20" option.

Pedal assist gives you five steps in the manual Ridstar links from the H20 Folding listing, "PAS 1: Low speed level,5-10KM/H" up to "PAS 5:Maximum speed level,25-30KM/H", roughly 16 to 19 mph at the top. The manual calls those speeds "only for reference" and names no model.

In the range model, Ridstar's 31 mph becomes the speed the motor spins up to with no load, and a 180 lb rider on level ground settles at 27.0 mph. Because the H20 has a twist grip, a ride where you let the motor do all the work is a throttle ride, and the tables below call it "throttle" or "motor only".

The top speed Ridstar prints for the H20, 31 mph, sits over every e-bike speed limit written by 48 states and DC, while Alaska and Kentucky write no e-bike definition, so read your state's wording before you ride on a public road. Our atlas quotes every definition from its statute, and the class section puts all five of Ridstar's speeds through them.

Check your state's e-bike rule

One 48V pack, 15Ah or 14Ah

The H20's pack is a single removable 48V battery, 15Ah in Ridstar's text and on both stores' spec rows, or 720 Wh once Ridstar's own volts and amp-hours are multiplied, while ridstar.net's battery image prints "48V 14AH", which comes to 672 Wh. Ridstar names no cell maker, cell format or watt-hour figure anywhere.

Ridstar's battery image for the H20: a hand lifting a black pack out of the frame behind the seat tube, under the words 48V 14AH Removable Lithium Bettery, with Fully chgarged about 5 hours and 50+ Miles below

The battery image is photograph six on ridstar.net's H20 1000W listing and eight on ours, spelling as printed; the listing's text beside it describes "a 48V 15Ah removable battery".

A third figure is a unit slip. ridstar.com's table gives the "Lithium Battery Energy Content" as "14 Milliamp Hours (mAh)", ridstar.net's Technical Details tab repeats "14 Milliamp Hours (mAh)", and 14 mAh at 48 V holds less than one watt-hour. Ridstar's dealers split along the same line: ridstar.eu sells "a 14AH 18650 lithium battery", ridstar-ebike.com "48V 15AH Dual Battery" for a single pack.

A full charge takes "4-6 hours" in ridstar.net's text and ridstar.com's table, "about 5 hours" on the image, and "within 3 to 7hours" in the manual, on a charger ridstar.com lists as "DC2.5 3A/48V". In the range section you can read the two pack sizes side by side, between two and four miles apart at each speed.

Electricity is the small cost. July 2026's US residential average was 18.31 cents per kWh by the Energy Information Administration's count, so you refill an empty pack for about 13 cents at 720 Wh or 12 cents at 672 Wh, plus whatever the charger itself loses.

At 15 mph on the throttle the model burns 16.8 Wh per mile, so if you ride 1,000 miles that way, charging costs about $3.07 with either pack, charger losses again extra.

A spare pack costs $379 as the "US / H20" option on ridstar.net's battery listing titled "Ridstar Q20/DC26/H20 48V 20AH 15AH Removable Electric E-Bike Battery", $20 under its "US / Q20" option, and the matching charger is $69. What sharing a listing with the warned Q20 means for you as an H20 owner is set out in the record section.

Range: 43 miles at 15 mph on the throttle, for a 180 lb rider

Run the H20 on the throttle alone over level pavement and the model gives a 180 lb rider 43 miles at a steady 15 mph from the 720 Wh pack, or 21 at 25 mph. At Ridstar's 330 lb limit, the same 15 mph ride on the flat shrinks to 34 miles.

Climbing is billed by the height you gain: on the throttle at 10 mph, each 1,000 feet of rise costs the pack about 145 Wh on a 4% grade and 197 Wh on a 10% grade.

To turn these tables into your ride's number:

  1. Start in the speed tables with the speed you hold and the effort your legs put in.
  2. Correct for what you carry in the weight rows and for the hills on your route in the climbing rows.
  3. Make the cold correction if you ride in winter, then plan on the reserve column, which leaves a quarter of the charge unused.

A single steady-state model produces every figure below. Its inputs are Ridstar's H20 numbers, the published curve of a comparable hub motor, fat-tire rolling resistance from drum tests, and a cycling-power equation its authors validated against measured power. The formula subsection walks you through one ride.

Write down four things, your weight in riding gear, the speed you usually hold, how much climbing your route has and the coldest morning you ride, and email them to us. The model's answer comes back in writing: full-pack miles and a planning figure, for the H20 or for the folding bike we would ship in its place.

Send us your ride

Plan on 32 miles from the 15 Ah pack, or 30 from the 14 Ah figure, for a 180 lb rider holding 15 mph on the throttle over flat ground; that keeps 25% in the pack for your trip home.

How far does a 48V 15Ah pack take the H20?

Throttle only, flat pavement, 180 lb rider: the 15 Ah pack computes to 61 miles at 10 mph, 43 at 15, 30 at 20 and 21 at 25, and the 14 Ah figure to between two and four miles less at each speed. Below, you will find the planning figures in the first table's last column, and a second table lines up the 15 Ah and 14 Ah packs.

Speed, flat Per mile Full charge With 25% kept
10 mph 11.9 Wh 61 mi 45 mi
12 mph 13.6 Wh 53 mi 40 mi
15 mph 16.8 Wh 43 mi 32 mi
18 mph 20.8 Wh 35 mi 26 mi
20 mph 24.1 Wh 30 mi 22 mi
25 mph 34.9 Wh 21 mi 15 mi

Miles on a full 720 Wh pack (48 V × 15 Ah) over flat pavement at 77 °F, 180 lb rider, 64 lb bike, tires rolling at the median of ten fat-tire drum tests. The planning column keeps 25% in the pack: in the full-system bench test of Schmitt, Decker and Doppelbauer (2019), a pedelec delivered 75% of its nominal capacity and left the rest, and Ridstar's H20 listings give no reserve.

Speed, flat 14 Ah 14 Ah, 25% kept 15 Ah 15 Ah, 25% kept
10 mph 57 mi 42 mi 61 mi 45 mi
12 mph 50 mi 37 mi 53 mi 40 mi
15 mph 40 mi 30 mi 43 mi 32 mi

20 mph 28 mi 21 mi 30 mi 22 mi
25 mph 19 mi 14 mi 21 mi 15 mi

The same rider, bike and road on each pack size, throttle only. 672 Wh is 48 V × 14 Ah, the capacity on Ridstar's battery image; the bold figures repeat the 15 Ah column above.

Speed, flat Throttle only Easy pedaling (75 W) Steady pedaling (150 W)
15 mph 43 mi 68 mi 144 mi
18 mph 35 mi 46 mi 68 mi
20 mph 30 mi 37 mi 49 mi
25 mph 21 mi 24 mi 27 mi

Pedal along and the pack lasts longer: miles on the 15 Ah pack at 75 W (easy) and 150 W (steady) of pedaling, flat pavement, 180 lb rider, 64 lb bike, beside the throttle-only figure from the speed table.

Ridstar's motor image prints the highest top speed, 31 mph, and the model treats it as the motor's no-load spin; carrying a 180 lb rider over level pavement, the bike settles at 27.0 mph. So the tables end at 25 mph, the last round speed it holds, where on the flat on the throttle the 15 Ah pack covers 21 miles and the 14 Ah figure 19.

Switch the motor off and pedal: the model moves a 180 lb rider on this 64 lb bike at about 9.2 mph over flat ground at 75 W, and 13.3 mph at 150 W. The effort table starts at 15 mph because below about 13 mph steady pedaling moves the bike with no help from the motor.

What gears does the Ridstar H20 have?

Seven: ridstar.net's text sells a "Shamano 7-Speed" (sic) system that "provides a wide shifting range", and ridstar.com's table lists "Shimano 7" for the "Number of Speeds". In the model, what the pack spends depends on speed, load, grade and how many watts your legs add; the gear you pick decides the cadence those watts come at.

The shifter is a $35 spare, the "US / H20" option on ridstar.net's "Gear shift" listing. Read the table as a price list for effort, three pedaling levels on four rides, and never as a gear chart.

Your ride Throttle only Easy pedaling (75 W) Steady pedaling (150 W)
15 mph, flat 16.8 Wh 10.6 Wh 5.0 Wh
20 mph, flat 24.1 Wh 19.2 Wh 14.6 Wh
12 mph, 4% grade 43.5 Wh 32.9 Wh 23.5 Wh
12 mph, 8% grade 86.1 Wh 70.8 Wh 57.2 Wh

Watt-hours per mile from the 15 Ah pack at three pedaling efforts, 180 lb rider, 64 lb bike, on two flat rides and two climbs at 12 mph, a 4% grade and an 8% grade.

What a climb costs the pack

On the throttle at a steady 10 mph, the 15 Ah pack spends 26 Wh climbing a mile of 2% grade and 231 Wh on a mile of 15%, which works out to 28 miles of the gentle grade per charge and 3 of the steep one. Pedal easily and each 1,000 feet you climb costs between 126 and 171 Wh across grades of 4% to 10%.

Grade Per mile, throttle Full charge, throttle Full charge, easy pedaling
2% 26 Wh 28 mi 48 mi
4% 43 Wh 17 mi 24 mi
6% 62 Wh 12 mi 15 mi
8% 86 Wh 8 mi 11 mi
10% 116 Wh 6 mi 8 mi
12% 152 Wh 5 mi 6 mi
15% 231 Wh 3 mi 4 mi

Miles from a full 15 Ah pack, grade by grade from 2% to 15%, at a steady 10 mph with a 180 lb rider on the 64 lb bike, throttle only and with 75 W of easy pedaling.

Neither H20 1000W listing gives a climbing figure. The dealers do: ridstar-ebike.com says "effortless 30° hill climbing" and ridstar.eu "Slope Capability : <25°". Converted, 30° is a 58% grade and 25° a 47% grade, far beyond the table, and neither claim comes with a speed, a load or a length of hill.

No torque figure is printed for the H20 1000W, so the model takes its comparable motor's 90 N·m as the ceiling, and no hill row reaches it. Climbing 10% at 10 mph, the motor puts 36.8 N·m and 568 W into the wheel and pulls 1,017 W from the pack, about 21 A at 48 V.

On 15%, the arithmetic outruns Ridstar's paperwork: 52.1 N·m and 804 W at the wheel, 1,675 W and about 35 A from the pack, above the 1,500 W peak Ridstar prints, and no controller limit appears on any Ridstar page. If the controller caps power at that peak or lower, a long 15% climb happens under 10 mph, so take the row as the most the bike could do.

How much range does extra weight cost?

At Ridstar's 330 lb limit, printed as "a high load capacity of 330 lbs" on ridstar.net and "330lbs" as the "Load Weight" on ridstar.com, a full pack covers 34 miles at 15 mph on the flat on the throttle, against 43 for a 180 lb rider, and an 8% climb at 10 mph shrinks from 8 miles to 4. The limit counts you, your bag and everything on the rack.

You plus your load 15 mph flat, throttle 20 mph flat, throttle 8% climb, 10 mph
100 lb 49 mi 33 mi 14 mi
130 lb 47 mi 32 mi 11 mi
180 lb 43 mi 30 mi 8 mi
220 lb 40 mi 28 mi 7 mi
260 lb 38 mi 27 mi 5 mi
330 lb 34 mi 25 mi 4 mi

Total weight aboard, rider and cargo, against miles on the 15 Ah pack with the 64 lb bike, throttle only, on flat pavement except in the climb column; the last row sits at Ridstar's 330 lb.

Every table assumes 64 lb, the "Item Weight" in ridstar.net's Technical Details and on ridstar.com's table. Other figures float around it: the same ridstar.com table says "About 63lbs", the dealers' tables say 30 kg (66.1 lb), and ridstar-ebike.com's size chart says "75LBS".

For a heavier case the model also carries 77.16 lb, which ridstar.com's MN20 listing prints for Ridstar's other 20 × 4.0 folding bike on a 48V 15Ah pack; the extra 13.16 lb costs about a mile at 15 mph on the throttle.

Bike weight 15 mph flat, throttle 20 mph flat, throttle 8% climb, 10 mph
77.2 lb 42 mi 29 mi 8 mi
64.0 lb 43 mi 30 mi 8 mi

The 64 lb bike against the 77.16 lb check, with a 180 lb rider on the 15 Ah pack, throttle only; the other tables all use 64 lb.

Under the name Bills-bike, one owner posted on ridstar.net's H20 page: "I'm 5'8" 270lbs and it goes 26-30mph. I've gotten 38miles w/help and 20miles just riding." For a 270 lb rider the model gives a fastest steady speed of 26.8 mph on the flat, 19 miles at 25 mph on the throttle, and 33 miles at 20 mph with easy pedaling.

The post names no riding speed, grade or temperature for its miles, so read it as one owner's account set next to arithmetic.

Range in the cold

The 43 miles a 180 lb rider computes to at 15 mph on the throttle at 77 °F drop to 34 at 32 °F, bracketed 30 to 36, and to 31 at 14 °F, bracketed 15 to 31. With no cell maker named for the H20's pack, the energy column uses published temperature tests of LG's HG2 lithium-ion cell.

Air Pack energy vs 77 °F 15 mph flat, throttle
95 °F 99% 45 mi
77 °F 100% 43 mi
68 °F 98% 41 mi
50 °F 93% 37 mi
41 °F 91% 35 mi
32 °F 89% (80–93) 34 mi (30–36)
14 °F 82% (40–83) 31 mi (15–31)

Usable pack energy against its 77 °F value, and miles at 15 mph on the flat on the throttle, by air temperature, 180 lb rider, 64 lb bike, 15 Ah pack; from 32 °F down, each bracket carries the spread across the cell tests.

Warmth helps the tires more than it hurts the cells: at 95 °F the pack loses 1% of its energy, yet the range beats the 77 °F row because the tires roll more freely. Each degree Celsius of warmth takes about 0.9% off the model's rolling resistance, a figure between the 0.88% Bicycle Rolling Resistance measured and the 0.97% Rothhämel (2023) reports; below 41 °F the correction stops.

If you store the H20 in a camper or a car trunk over winter, bring the pack indoors to charge and to sit: the table assumes cells at air temperature, and a pack that starts the ride warm beats its row.

Fat tires and how you sit

Put the best-rolling of ten drum-measured fat tires on the model in place of the median, and a 180 lb rider's 43 miles at 15 mph on the flat on the throttle becomes 50; the worst-rolling makes it 40. Ridstar's text says only "The 20*4 inch fat tire electric bike provides stability and comfort on any terrain", naming no tire maker, tread or pressure.

ridstar.com's side photograph shows "CHAO YANG" on the sidewalls, a tire none of the drum tests measured, so the model rolls on their median coefficient, 0.0105, with the lowest, 0.0070, and the highest, 0.0126, as the bracket.

Your posture is the other big loss. The model's drag area, 0.640 m², is what Tengattini and Bigazzi (2018) measured for upright cruiser riders; crouch to the 0.603 m² of their everyday mountain-bike riders and 15 mph on the flat on the throttle stretches to 44 miles.

Rolling resistance 15 mph flat, throttle 20 mph flat, throttle
0.0070 · the lowest of ten fat tires 50 mi 33 mi
0.0105 · the median of ten fat tires (used) 43 mi 30 mi
0.0126 · the highest of ten fat tires 40 mi 28 mi

Each tire's drum-measured rolling resistance, with flat-pavement miles at 15 and 20 mph on the 15 Ah pack, throttle only, 180 lb rider, 64 lb bike. All rows assume paved road, and the sand and snow on Ridstar's tire image are outside the model.

How many miles does Ridstar say the H20 goes?

Ridstar gives the H20's range four ways: "a range of 35 miles in pure electric mode and up to 50 miles in pedal-assist mode" and "35-56 miles in pure electric mode" in its text, "50+ Miles" on its battery image, and on ridstar.com "35 Miles(Throttle)/50 Miles(Assist Mode)" over a table row reading "35-50 km". Not one of them names a speed, a rider's weight or a road surface.

Working backwards, the model finds the steady speed on flat pavement that would empty a full 720 Wh pack at each distance. For a 180 lb rider, 35 miles on the throttle means holding 17.9 mph; 56 miles means 11.3 mph on the throttle, or 16.4 mph with easy pedaling.

Ridstar's figure Per mile Motor only Easy (75 W) Steady (150 W)
56 mi, pure electric 12.9 Wh 11.3 mph 16.4 mph 19.2 mph
50 mi, assist 14.4 Wh 12.9 mph 17.4 mph 19.9 mph
35 mi, pure electric 20.6 Wh 17.9 mph 20.7 mph 22.8 mph
31 mi, mode not printed (ridstar.com) 23.2 Wh 19.5 mph 22 mph 23.9 mph
22 mi, mode not printed (ridstar.com) 33.1 Wh 24.3 mph 26 mph 27.4 mph

For each Ridstar figure, the steady flat-pavement speed at which a full 720 Wh pack (15 Ah) runs out at that distance, 180 lb rider, 64 lb bike, at three efforts: throttle, Easy (75 W of pedaling) and Steady (150 W). From ridstar.net's H20 1000W text and ridstar.com's slider and table, read October 20, 2026; 50 km is 31 miles, 35 km is 22.

On ridstar.com the "35-50 km" row repeats the slider's 35 and 50 in kilometers, one pair of numbers in two units on one page. Which unit Ridstar meant matters less once you read the speed tables at your own speed, throttle or pedaling, and plan on the reserve column.

How the range figures are computed

For every speed and grade, the model totals the forces the wheel must overcome, rolling resistance, air drag and, uphill, gravity, turns that force into power at the given speed, then divides by the efficiency of the drivetrain, the motor and the battery, one after another. The equation comes from Martin and colleagues (1998), and no input enters the model without a source.

Input Value used, with its bracket Source
Rider plus bike 180 lb plus 64 lb (110.7 kg); load rows 100 to 330 lb Central rider; the bike from ridstar.com's table, bracket 77.16 lb from the MN20's printed weight
Pack energy 48 V × 15 Ah = 720 Wh; 48 V × 14 Ah = 672 Wh ridstar.net's H20 text and its battery image
Rolling resistance 0.0105; bracket 0.0070 to 0.0126 Ten fat-tire tests on a drum, median
Frontal area × drag 0.640 m²; bracket 0.603 m² Tengattini & Bigazzi (2018), upright cruiser

Torque ceiling 90 N·m, the comparable's; Ridstar prints none for the H20 1000W Bafang OEM workbook 2021

Battery efficiency Measured curve at the same C-rate; bracket: cell data at 0.5 C Arango, Lopez & Ceren (2021)
Temperature Air density, rolling resistance and cell energy by temperature; brackets in the cold table NOAA and NASA (1976); BRR temperature test; LG HG2 cell data
Planning reserve 25% left in the pack; Ridstar's H20 listings state no reserve Schmitt, Decker & Doppelbauer (2019)

Values are copied from the model's provenance block: Ridstar's figures, study figures, comparables with their brackets, and physical constants. The references list every source again.

Worked ride, 15 mph on flat pavement, throttle only, 180 lb rider, 64 lb bike: rolling resistance costs 76.7 W and drag 114.2 W, 190.9 W at the wheel in all. At that speed the motor converts at about 79%, drawing 242.9 W at the battery's terminals, and with the pack's internal losses the cells give 251.4 W.

Divide by the speed and you get 16.8 Wh per mile, 43.0 miles from 720 Wh, or 32.2 miles with a quarter held back.

Two checks run with it: fed the example in Martin and colleagues' Appendix I, the model reproduces the paper's 45.7 W for the rolling and potential terms and 158.8 W for the aerodynamic one, and at its rated point the comparable motor runs at 80% efficiency, the floor in Bafang's workbook.

The motor is a borrowed curve, so the model runs it four ways: across the cases below, the 15 mph flat figure on the throttle stays between 42 and 46 miles. At 750 W the model returns 43 miles at 15 mph and 7 on the 8% climb at 10 mph; treat Ridstar's 1,500 W peak as the rating and it returns 42 and 9; at 82% motor efficiency, 46 and 9.

Apart from the motor the cases are identical, no case is a measurement, and every table on this page runs on the 1,000 W one.

Brakes, lights and the display

Three H20 pages, three brake descriptions: a "Dual Mechanical Disc Brake" in ridstar.net's 1000W text, "Disc" under "Brake Style" on ridstar.com's table, and a "dual hydraulic disc brake system" on Ridstar's separate H20 Folding listing. No brake maker or rotor size appears on any of them.

At the dealer ridstar-ebike.com, the comparison chart's H20 column reads "Dual Disc Brakes", and its rotor listing is titled "Ridstar Q20/Q20 Pro/H20Pro/H26Pro Hydraulic Brake Rotor and Ridstar Q20 Lite/H20 Mechanical brake Rotor". On ridstar.net's brake-set listing the H20's options are a "Left front brake" and a "Right rear brake" at $90 apiece.

Ridstar's lights and display image for the H20: a close-up of the round headlight on the fork labeled LED Headlight with the line Keep your safe during the night riding, and below it the bar-mounted LCD screen labeled LCD Display

Photograph three on ridstar.net's H20 1000W listing and five on ours, wording as printed. The display in it shows a reading, and no figure in this review is taken from it.

Ridstar's text promises "waterproof headlights and brake lights", and ridstar.com's feature list includes "Taillight", "Headlight" and a "USB Charging Port". The screen, says ridstar.net, gives you "clear visibility of speed, mileage, battery level" among other readings.

If you ride wet descents, or loaded to the limit, most weeks, look at our shelf: the RS-A02 Plus folds too, and Samebike's page lists "Hydraulic disc brakes" for it.

Frame, suspension, tires and the fold

Ridstar describes a "6061 aluminum alloy" frame, "sturdy, durable, and foldable", with "lockable and adjustable front and rear dual shock absorbers", yet ridstar.com's table gives the "Suspension Type" as "Front". Ridstar's own photographs show a fork up front and a coil shock behind the seat tube; neither store gives fork travel or a shock size, and the 1000W listings print no folded size.

Ridstar's suspension image for the H20: a close-up of a coil shock labeled BAODELI with a red open and lock dial, under the words Long Fork Suspension and Lightweight material stronger shock absorber for all kinds of terrain

Photograph seven on ridstar.net's H20 1000W listing and nine on ours; the panel is headed for the fork, while the part in it is a coil shock with a lockout dial.

One dealer disagrees on the metal: ridstar-ebike.com's table lists a "Chromoly Steel" frame against Ridstar's aluminum, so if weight matters to you, get the material in writing from whoever sells you the bike.

Ridstar sells the H20 on its fold. ridstar.net describes "a simple folding mechanism, allowing easy storage in your vehicle's trunk" for "RV, camper, or van adventures", and only the 1200W listing gives a folded size, "39*39*28.7" inches, with an "easy two-step folding design".

From ridstar.com it ships in a box whose "Package Size" reads "148 x 29 x 81cm/58.2 x 11.4 x 31.8 inch", and ridstar-ebike.com claims it "quickly folds in 10 seconds". Before you buy, hold a tape to your trunk or RV bay against 39 × 39 × 28.7 inches, and remember the lift is the 64 lb Ridstar prints.

The tire panel: fourth on ridstar.net's H20 1000W listing, sixth in our gallery.

Dennis, an owner posting on ridstar.net's page, wrote: "The tires and tubes that come with it seem pretty cheap and thin. I got flats pretty quick, but there's a lot of thorns here." Spares are listed by model: the "20 inch folding outer tire" at $79 and an inner tube at $59, each in its "US / H20" option.

More stopping power and a bigger pack, still folding: Samebike lists "Hydraulic disc brakes" and a "48V 17Ah" pack for the RS-A02 Plus, 816 Wh by its own figure. On October 20, 2026 Samebike showed all five colors in stock, and our $1,139 equals its $1,199 price less the S60 code. The Mercer fit test

Seven people, the Mercer family, stand in for the riders who read our reviews, and each row tests one of them against the H20: Ridstar's 5'3" to 6'3" window, the saddle height the formula gives that body, the share of riders that tall who sit flat-footed on the 31.4-inch seat, and the law from the class section.

Treat them as archetypes: each row's figures come from the model at that height, so start from the member closest to you.

Member Age · Height Verdict The number behind it
Frank Kowalski 63 · 5'10" Inside the window; flat-footed at a stop Saddle top 36.8 in above the pedal axle by the formula; all 100 riders in 100 at his height reach the floor from the 31.4 in seat
Ruth Kowalski 61 · 5'5" Inside the window, two inches above its floor Saddle top 33.8 in; 38 in 100 at her height sit flat-footed, and the median rider's feet hang 0.4 in above the floor
Jack Mercer 48 · 6'1" Inside the window Saddle top 38.8 in; 100 in 100 sit flat-footed; he and all he carries stay under Ridstar's 330 lb
Dana Mercer 45 · 5'7" Inside the window Saddle top 35.1 in; 82 in 100 at her height sit flat-footed
Maya Torres 32 · 5'6" Inside the window Saddle top 34.5 in; 61 in 100 sit flat-footed; read the class section before a commute
Cole Mercer 16 · 5'11" No Ridstar prints a 31 mph top speed, outside all 49 e-bike definitions, and ridstar.net's policy reads "E-Bikes Are Not for Sale to Persons Under the Age of 18"
Ivy Mercer 12 · not in the family's record No The same speed and the same policy line; a bike sized for her age is a different search

Ages and heights belong to the Mercers; each saddle height and flat-foot count is the model's figure for ANSUR II bodies of that height, set against the 31.4-inch seat on ridstar.com's table.

All five adults fall inside Ridstar's window, and the 31.4-inch seat decides how each one stops. Every rider of Frank's or Jack's height puts both feet down, as do 82 of 100 at Dana's height, 61 at Maya's and 38 at Ruth's.

Their pedaling heights are counted from the pedal axle, and with no crank length or bottom-bracket height from Ridstar those cannot be set against the 31.4-inch seat, so ask the seller for the post's range before you order.

The H20 is not a bike for Cole, 16, or Ivy, 12. Its printed 31 mph puts it outside all 49 e-bike definitions US jurisdictions write, so wherever they live, the rules are those of whatever vehicle class the state assigns, and ridstar.net's shipping policy adds "Underage riders MUST be accompanied by parents or adults when riding."

For a younger rider, our kids and teens guide sorts the bikes we sell by age and by each state's age rules.

Is the Ridstar H20 UL certified?

No UL standard, certificate holder or file number appears on ridstar.net's or ridstar.com's H20 1000W listing, and the only UL claim for the H20 we found on a Ridstar-named site is a dealer's. Treat any UL line you read on a web page as a claim until a certificate with a holder and a file number backs it.

On its H20 page, ridstar-ebike.com states that "Ridstar electric bike has passed the UL 2849 electric bicycle electric system safety standard test", and attaches no holder, file number or document. UL 2849 is "the Standard for Electrical Systems for eBikes", which UL Solutions says certifies fire safety "by examining the electrical drive train, battery, and charger system combinations in e-bikes."

Whoever sells you a bike described as UL-certified, get the certificate holder and the file number in writing before you pay. Put the same two questions to our shelf: the SF20H's "UL2271 & UL2849 Safety Certified" is VTUVIA's wording, and its holder and file number are worth asking for.

The "Our Qualifications" files on ridstar.net. Its H20 page footer, read October 20, 2026, links three documents. Two are registrations of the word Ridstar as a trademark, US registration 6,936,242 of December 27, 2022 and EU registration 018609888 of March 16, 2022, each owned by "Huizhoushi Xingqishi Sports Goods Co., Ltd.".

The third, under the label "CE trademark", is an EN 15194:2017 test report, report ATS240329142LR of April 2, 2024, covering a "Cargo electric bicycle", model "FM-002, CDDA20", with a "Maximum power measurement" of "250W". The H20 is named in none of the three, none is a UL document, and UL Solutions itself notes that "EN 15194 does not cover the safety of electrical systems utilizing battery packs in the same manner that UL 2849 covers this subject."

Has the Ridstar H20 been recalled?

No. Neither of the CPSC's two Ridstar warnings names the H20, since they cover the Q20, Q20 Pro and Q20 Lite, and no Ridstar recall was on the Commission's list on October 20, 2026.

Ridstar, its manufacturer and YVY appear nowhere in the 10,053 records the full recall list held that day, the latest dated October 15, 2026. Two carried "H20" as a word, a 2008 recall of steam cleaners and a 2005 recall of an "H20 Classic" kettle, and neither is a bicycle.

The recall feed's 40 items, from September 17 to October 15, include no Ridstar product, and the Commission's warning list of 379 rows holds the two Ridstar warnings and nothing for the H20. Because a warning is not a recall, no refund, repair or replacement comes with it for any Ridstar bike; before you order, search the recall list for Ridstar one more time.

The maker's record

Ridstar's record runs to five entries, two CPSC warnings, a UK report and two lawsuits, and the H20 is in none; yet 25 of the 26 ridstar.net parts listings offering an H20 option also sell Q20-family parts, the front fork, front axles and spare pack included. The record belongs to the company, in the words of regulators, courts and owners, and it reaches the H20 you might buy through its maker and its parts listings.

Warning Models named, as printed Hazard, as printed Incidents the Commission reports
26-337, March 19, 2026 "Ridstar Q20 and Q20 Pro e-bikes" "The e-bikes' batteries and wires can ignite, posing a fire hazard to consumers." "11 reports of fire, including one burn injury, five reports of smoke inhalation, and two reports of property damage totaling over $40,000"
26-584, June 25, 2026 "Ridstar Q20 and Q20 Lite e-bikes" "The front wheel can detach without warning, posing a crash hazard to consumers." "32 reports of the front wheel detaching, including 31 reports of injuries"

Each warning quoted as the Commission printed it, checked against its text again on October 20, 2026.

Huizhou Xingqishi Sporting Goods Co., Ltd., of China, is the manufacturer both releases name. The fire release adds that this manufacturer "has refused to agree to an acceptable recall", and it carries the line "The company objects to this press release". In the crash release, the same company "has been unresponsive to CPSC's requests for information about these products or a recall."

The parts the H20 shares with the Q20. Of the 26 listings offering an H20 option in ridstar.net's catalog feed on October 20, 2026, 25 also offered a Q20, Q20 Pro, Q20 Lite, Q20 MINI or Q20 Luxe option; the seat was the exception.

The overlap reaches the front of the bike. The "Front fork" listing prices "US / H20" at $159, level with "US / Q20MINI", and "US / Q20" at $189; the "Front wheel nut kit" charges $25 for "US / H20" and for "US / Q20"; and the two front-axle listings, through shaft and active axis, each charge $35 for both.

So does the battery: on the listing titled "Ridstar Q20/DC26/H20 48V 20AH 15AH Removable Electric E-Bike Battery", the "US / H20" pack is $379 and the "US / Q20" pack $399.

The two manuals Ridstar links from H20 listings, the manual on the Folding listing and the manual on the 1200W listing, name no model, and both include a front-wheel quick release: "Wheel quick release adjustment" among the checks, "Lock front wheel quick release" among the steps. The Oregon complaint described below alleges that the Q20, "Unlike other designs by Ridstar," lacks a "Wheel quick release adjustment" component.

No Ridstar page says whether an H20 option and a Q20 option on the same listing are one part. Because the crash warning concerns the Q20's "front wheel" and the fire warning its "batteries and wires", get it in writing from any seller which fork, front axle and battery the H20 you would receive has.

To tell whether your bike is a warned one, both releases send you to the purchase receipt for the model number, and their lists of sellers, Amazon.com, Ridstar.net and Walmart.com, plus AliExpress.us on the crash release, do not include redtailebikes.com.

The H20 has no warning, report, suit or recall in its own name, but 25 of its 26 parts listings also sell Q20 parts, the fork, the front axles and the spare pack among them. Get the parts in writing, check the front wheel's fastening before every ride, and keep your receipt.

The UK's Office for Product Safety and Standards keeps a separate file, dated June 19, 2025, on Ridstar's "Q20-Plus, Q20-Mini, E26 Pro and Chargers". Its finding was a serious fire risk: "the charger has poor quality soldering, and the transformer does not meet the minimum requirements for creepage and clearance distances." The report's action reads "The import has been rejected at the border", and the H20 is not one of the products named.

A Ridstar front wheel coming off is the allegation in two product-liability cases now in federal court. One, filed in Oregon against Amazon (case 3:26-cv-00692), concerns a "Ridstar Q20"; the other, which a parent brought against Walmart in Florida for a minor (case 9:26-cv-81045), is about a bike whose complaint gives its title as "Peak 1500W30MPH,48V 15.6Ah".

In both cases the defendant is the retailer and Ridstar is not a named party; the claims are allegations, and neither docket showed a ruling on October 20, 2026.

What H20 owners have written. The structured data on ridstar.net's H20 page gives a rating of "4.8" across "25" ratings, and the page shows three written reviews, all five stars. Clinton's reads: "The right pedal did strip out of the crank arm it bolts into not sure exactly what happened. Love this bike and great vendor as well Got my replacement parts super quick only took about 4 days."

Two Reddit posts name the H20. In June 2024 a rider choosing between folding fat bikes wrote "Ridstar H20- Seems like a steal even with the mechanical brakes"; in January 2026 the owner of a pre-owned bike reported that its "H20 model motor" gears "aren't engaging even after buying a new clutch and gear set", adding "Ive even reached out to ridstar and couldn't find any information".

These are single accounts of single bikes, quoted in their authors' words and never tallied.

Who would you be buying from?

ridstar.net's company page gives the seller as "HK RIDSTAR TRADE LIMITED", in Hung Hom, Hong Kong; both Ridstar trademark registrations name a different owner, "Huizhoushi Xingqishi Sports Goods Co., Ltd.". A third name turns up in the H20's spec tables on ridstar.net and ridstar.com, which list the manufacturer as "Rofevo" and the brand as "Generic".

YVY's company page names "HK RIDSTAR TRADE LIMITED" too. On October 20, 2026 YVY's own catalog held no bike called H20, yet 12 of its parts listings offered a "US / H20" option, a front fork, a throttle and a charger among them. The rest of the company story is in our Ridstar profile and our YVY profile.

Which Ridstar store would you be buying from?

On October 20, 2026, ridstar.com sold the H20 1000W for US delivery, and ridstar.net's 1000W listing showed its US variant unavailable while its separate H20 Folding listing, with no region named, showed available at $600.00.

ridstar.net's statement counts the other Ridstar-type sites as dealers ("Except ridstar.net, other similar websites are our dealers"). If you buy from one of them, ridstar.net, by its own account, "will not provide any after-sales service to customers who purchase ridstar products from other places".

On repairs, ridstar.net's warranty page says "Ridstar dealers or Ridstar authorized partners will repair or replace, at no charge," a product that proves defective, while ridstar.com's H20 page limits its own policy: "The Ridstar Warranty Policy is only available to customers ordering from ridstar.com". You can read how those statements sit beside ours in Buying it from us.

For the company as a whole, open the Ridstar profile: its storefronts, both CPSC warnings, the UK report, both suits, and the status of every Ridstar model we list, in one place. Every review in this series sends company questions there and keeps its own pages for the bike.

The H20 in Ridstar's line

The H20 name covers four ridstar.net listings, one ridstar.com listing, and a different machine, the two-motor H20 Pro. The listings disagree on brakes, motor and weight, and the identity section tells you which one this review follows.

The H20 Pro's motor image prints "2000W" and "85NM×2", two motors on a different frame, and ridstar.net sells the two bikes' packs as separate options on one battery listing, $379 for "US / H20" and $459 for "US / H20 Pro".

Of the two, only the Q20 appears in the CPSC's warnings; the H20, sold on its fold, appears in neither, though the 25 parts listings they share put the front end and the battery under the same questions. Our Q20 review reads the Q20 on its own figures.

The MN20 is Ridstar's other folding bike on 20 × 4.0 tires with a 48V 15Ah pack, and ridstar.com prints "Weight 77.16LBS" for it, the heavier weight the range model checks.

You can read a review of each of ten other Ridstar models here, every one built from the maker's figures:

No e-bike class fits the H20's printed speeds

Ridstar gives the H20 five top speeds and no class, and from 25 mph up, the band its banner, text and motor image print, the bike falls outside the e-bike definition in each of the 48 states and DC that write one. Held to ridstar.com's "Max Speed 20 MPH", a 1,000 W bike would fit four of them.

Under 15 U.S.C. § 2085(b), the federal low-speed electric bicycle needs three things, and the H20 as printed has only the first: "fully operable pedals"; a motor "of less than 750 watts (1 h.p.)"; and, ridden on the motor alone by a 170-pound rider, a top speed that "is less than 20 mph."

What each law tests Ridstar's figures for the H20 15 U.S.C. § 2085(b) Cal. Veh. Code § 312.5(a)
Motor "1000W" on both stores; "1200W (PEAK 1500W)" in one paragraph "less than 750 watts (1 h.p.)" "does not exceed 750 watts of power"
Speed on the motor 20, 25, 28+++ and 31 mph, and "35km/h-45km/h" "less than 20 mph" class 2 "is not capable of providing assistance when the bicycle reaches the speed of 20 miles per hour"; class 3 "ceases to provide assistance when the bicycle reaches the speed of 28 miles per hour"
Riding on the motor alone a "Twist Grip Throttle" and a "pure electric mode" powered "solely by such a motor" classes 1 and 3 are "not capable of exclusively propelling the bicycle"
Pedals pedals and a "Shamano 7-Speed" (sic) "fully operable pedals" "fully operable pedals"

Statute text as govinfo and California's legislative site served it on October 20, 2026, beside Ridstar's figures from its two H20 1000W listings and their photographs.

California's § 312.5(a) rules the H20 out of all three classes on its 1,000 W by itself, and again on any of its speeds over 20 mph. The throttle class, class 2, "is not capable of providing assistance when the bicycle reaches the speed of 20 miles per hour", and class 3's 28 mph applies only with pedal assist.

California's moped test is § 406(a). Its power limb wants "a motor that produces less than 4 gross brake horsepower", and 1,000 W, about 1.3 horsepower, meets it.

Its speed limb is "not more than 30 miles per hour on level ground", which Ridstar's printed 31 mph exceeds while its 20, 25 and 28+++ mph, and the model's 27.0 mph, do not. The section also asks for "fully operative pedals for propulsion by human power" and "an automatic transmission".

Two questions stay open for a California rider: whether a "Shimano 7" derailleur can be "an automatic transmission", and which of Ridstar's five speeds an officer would go by. Put both to the California DMV before you ride; our California page walks through the code.

Our screen covers 51 jurisdictions, the 50 states and DC. Of their 49 e-bike definitions, 44 cap the motor at 750 watts, four state no power figure, and Rhode Island's uses horsepower; Alaska and Kentucky have none.

Entered at 1,000 W and Ridstar's 31 mph, the H20 fits none of the 49, and 28 or 25 mph changes nothing; entered at 750 W and 31 mph it still fits none, so speed alone rules it out. At 20 mph, 1,000 W qualifies under four, the District's, Montana's, Oregon's and Rhode Island's, though no Ridstar page tells you how to hold the bike at that speed.

Between 25 and 31 mph, the speeds on Ridstar's banner, text and motor image, the H20 meets no state's e-bike definition: 49 jurisdictions write one and it fits none, and Alaska and Kentucky write none. Look up what your state calls a bike this fast, and ride public roads by that class's rules.

Where you can ride it

A path that admits e-bikes by class has no door for the H20, which carries no class; take yours there only where the posted rule allows a bike outside the classes.

California goes further for a motorized bicycle, and if it reads the H20 that way most bike paths close to it: § 21207.5(a) keeps such a bike off "a bicycle path or trail, bikeway, bicycle lane", allowing only a path "within or adjacent to a roadway" or one a local ordinance opens.

The ride The rulebook that decides Where to read it
Streets and bike lanes the state's vehicle code, then the city's the state's definitions, in our atlas
A campground loop or park road the park agency that runs it the campground's posted rules and the park's own page
A National Forest road or trail the Ranger District its motor vehicle use map, under 36 CFR 261.13
A beach the city, county or state park that manages it that agency's own rules page

An agency's posted rule outranks this table; once it names watts or a speed, set the H20's 1,000 W and printed speeds against it.

On National Forest land your question is whether the H20 is a motor vehicle, and 36 CFR 261.2 answers broadly: "any vehicle which is self-propelled", rail vehicles and wheelchairs or mobility devices aside. Breaking a Part 261 rule carries "imprisonment of not more than six months or a fine in accordance with" federal criminal law, under 36 CFR 261.1b.

Ridstar's tire image shows "Snow Road", "Mountain Road" and "Sand Road", and the H20 is marketed for RVs and vans; the agency that manages a beach, a snowfield or the forest road past your campsite decides whether a bike this fast may go there. For a trip onto federal ground, our public-land guide takes each manager in turn: national forests, BLM land, national parks, wildlife refuges and the Army Corps' lakes.

Green flags / Red flags

Seven reasons to want the H20 and eight things to settle first, each tied to the listing that prints it; the eight end in a step you can take, whether you buy this bike or one of our folding fat bikes.

Green flags

  • It folds for the car, the RV or the van. Ridstar's text describes "a simple folding mechanism", and its 1200W listing prints a folded size of "39*39*28.7" inches.
  • A twist throttle and seven gears. In Ridstar's words, "Twisting the throttle releases your thumb", and the manual it links adds five assist levels to the seven-speed shifter.
  • 720 Wh for $690. On our sold-out listing that is about $0.96 of our price per watt-hour, where the RS-A02 Pro comes to $1.30 and the RS-A02 Plus to $1.40 at today's prices here.
  • Suspension at both ends in Ridstar's photographs. ridstar.com calls the fork "Lockable", and the suspension image shows a coil shock whose dial reads OPEN and LOCK.
  • Sizing numbers on Ridstar's own pages. Both stores give 64 lb, a 330 lb load and a 5'3" to 6'3" window, and ridstar.com adds a 31.4-inch seat.
  • Spares sold by model name. On ridstar.net you can order spares by the H20's name: 26 parts listings carry an H20 option, a $59 throttle, a $69 charger and a $379 battery among them.
  • Freight and damage handled by us. When it returns to stock it ships free within the contiguous United States, and if the box arrives damaged, photos sent within 48 hours start a carrier claim we file and a replacement or repair we arrange.

Red flags

  • We are out of stock. For the same job today, the RS-A02 Pro ships in four colors; to wait for the H20 itself, email us about a restock.
  • From 25 mph up, its printed speeds fit none of the e-bike definitions in 48 states and DC. Check your state's wording, or choose the VTUVIA SF20H, which its maker prints as "Class 2".
  • Mechanical brakes on the 1000W listing, hydraulic ones on another. Get the brake type in writing before you pay; the RS-A02 Plus lists "Hydraulic disc brakes".
  • No UL file number on either Ridstar store. Ask any seller, us included, for the holder and file number our UL section describes; VTUVIA prints "UL2271 & UL2849 Safety Certified" for the SF20H on our shelf.
  • Front-end parts listed alongside the warned Q20's. The maker's record counts the 25 shared listings; make the seller name the fork, axle and battery that ship.
  • 15Ah in the text, 14Ah on the image. The range tables carry both, and if you email us we will ask which pack would ship.
  • No torque and no controller limit published. The hill rows treat 15% as a ceiling; for steep roads, Samebike prints "100+Nm" for the RS-A02 Plus.
  • Each Ridstar store limits its after-sales terms to its own buyers. Buying it from us quotes both stores' terms and ours in one table.

Buy it if / Buy something else if

Buy it if the H20 returns to stock and what you want is a fat bike that folds into a trunk, with a twist throttle, a 720 Wh pack and a 330 lb load, for $690; you stand 5'3" to 6'3"; and you are ready to ride under whatever vehicle class your state gives a bike printed at 25 to 31 mph.

For a 180 lb rider on the throttle at 15 mph over flat ground, the model's figure is 43 miles a charge, and the bike costs about $0.96 of our price per watt-hour. Ride 1,000 miles a year at that pace and the electricity costs about $3.07 a year at the national residential average.

Buy something else if you need the folding fat bike now. The Samebike RS-A02 Pro costs $939 here, the price Samebike's S60 code gives on its own store, and Samebike's page prints "20*4.0 Inch" tires, a "48V 15Ah" pack, a "1500W" peak, "Fork & Shock" suspension and a "150 KG Payload"; all four colors showed in stock on October 20, 2026.

Like the H20 it stops on a "Mechanical Disc Brake", and its "40KM/H Max Speed", about 25 mph, comes with no class, so our RS-A02 Pro review works through how your state treats it.

Samebike's folder, laid out from its maker's numbers: the miles at each speed, the fit at your height, and where 40 km/h falls under your state's law. We point H20 shoppers there first: it folds, it runs 20 × 4.0 tires under a fork and a rear shock, and its pack matches the H20's 48V 15Ah.

Read our RS-A02 Pro review

Buy something else if hydraulic brakes and a bigger pack matter more to you than price. The RS-A02 Plus, $1,139 here on the same offer, lists "Hydraulic disc brakes", a "48V 17Ah" pack and a "1200W motor" peaking at "1800W" on Samebike's page, with five colors in stock on October 20, 2026; our RS-A02 Plus review works out its range.

Buy something else if staying inside an e-bike class matters to you. The VTUVIA SF20H is $1,299 here, and VTUVIA's page labels the folder "Class 2", gives it a "48V 750W(PEAK 1200W) Rear Brushless Motor", calls it "UL2271 & UL2849 Safety Certified" and says it folds "In just 10 seconds"; White and Red were in stock on October 20, 2026.

VTUVIA also writes that the SF20H has a "factory-limited top speed of 20 mph, but it can reach up to 28 mph under full power", so keep it set to your state's line; range and fit are in our SF20H review.

Before you buy: the checklist

Run these six checks before you order an H20, from us when it returns or from anyone else, and before its first ride on a public road.

  1. Speed class. Look up, in our atlas, what your state calls a bike printed at 25 to 31 mph; if the answer is a moped or a motorcycle, meet that class's requirements before you ride.
  2. The fold. Measure the trunk, bay or closet it will live in against 39 × 39 × 28.7 inches, the one folded size Ridstar prints for an H20.
  3. The load. Weigh yourself in riding gear with your bag and whatever rides on the rack, and stay under 330 lb; the load rows give the miles at each total.
  4. The parts. Read the maker's record on the 25 shared listings, then get the fork, front axle and battery named in writing.
  5. The warranty. Know who repairs the bike before money changes hands; the statements below come from Ridstar's stores and ours.
  6. The first week. Our shipping policy needs damage reported within 48 hours of delivery, so open the box that day. Ridstar ships the bike "90% pre-assembled": go over every bolt you fit, confirm the front wheel is fastened before each ride, charge only with a charger Ridstar specifies, where you can see the pack, and set the saddle by the heel check.

Buying it from us

Our H20 listing was sold out at $690.00 on October 20, 2026; the terms below are what that price buys when it returns, and what the RS-A02 Pro, the RS-A02 Plus and the SF20H buy now. Every row describes something we do, quoted from the policy that says so.

What you get Our terms on October 20, 2026
Who sells it Redtail Ebikes, the trading name of the Florida corporation named in our terms of service; a retailer, with Ridstar as the H20's maker

Quoted from our terms of service, shipping policy, refund policy and contact page as they read on October 20, 2026, and from our checkout that morning. Our cart that day charged $0.00 to ship the RS-A02 Pro to ZIP codes in Alaska, Hawaii, California, Florida, Illinois, New York and Texas; the shipping policy asks Alaska and Hawaii buyers to contact us before ordering, so write first if you live there.

A change of heart has a short window here: the bike must still be unopened in its factory-sealed packaging, you must ask within 72 hours of delivery, and our refund policy deducts a 15% restocking fee plus the return shipping; canceling an order costs a 3% transaction fee.

Three stores, three sets of terms: on October 20, 2026, ridstar.com had the H20 1000W in stock for US delivery, while ridstar.net showed its 1000W listing's US variant unavailable and its separate H20 Folding listing available, both at $600.00.

Term Redtail eBikes ridstar.net ridstar.com
The H20, October 20 $690.00, sold out 1000W listing: US variant $600.00, unavailable; H20 Folding listing: $600.00, available US $1,079.00, in stock
Change of mind 72 hours, unopened only, 15% restocking fee plus return freight "within 15 days of receiving the bike", none "over 10 miles", up to a 15% restocking fee and "$200 per ebike" return shipping "15-Day Money-Back Guarantee"; "Return shipping fees may apply"
Warranty "covered under manufacturer warranty", repair or replacement coordinated by us repair or replacement by "Ridstar dealers or Ridstar authorized partners" "Hassle-Free 2-Years Warranty" over a table reading "12 months manufacturer", "only available to customers ordering from ridstar.com"

Sources, all October 20, 2026: ridstar.net's return policy, which also charges a "5 % transaction fee" to cancel before shipment, and its warranty page; ridstar.com's H20 listing with the US market selected; our own policies for the first column.

Settle repairs before you pay. Two ridstar.net pages pull in different directions: its warranty page promises repair or replacement "at no charge" by "Ridstar dealers or Ridstar authorized partners", and its statement rules out "any after-sales service to customers who purchase ridstar products from other places".

Our refund policy places a bike that arrives defective under the manufacturer's warranty, with the repair or replacement coordinated by us remotely. Bought here, a Ridstar bike sits under both sets of words at once; ask us before you order, and we will tell you in writing how a repair would be handled.

Riding under your state's e-bike rules is the point of the SF20H: VTUVIA prints it as "Class 2", it folds, and this button takes it to checkout in White at $1,299. Shipping is free within the contiguous United States, and Red was VTUVIA's other in-stock color on October 20, 2026.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Ridstar H20 a folding e-bike?

Yes, at a hinge in the main tube, as Ridstar's photographs show. ridstar.net's text promises "a simple folding mechanism, allowing easy storage in your vehicle's trunk", though the one folded size Ridstar prints for any H20, "39*39*28.7" inches, sits on its 1200W listing. Measure your trunk or RV bay against those inches, and plan to lift the 64 lb both Ridstar stores give.

How much does the Ridstar H20 cost?

$690.00 on our listing, which was sold out on October 20, 2026. The same day ridstar.com had it in stock for US delivery at $1,079.00, marked down from $1,399.00; ridstar.net's 1000W listing showed its $600.00 US variant unavailable, and its H20 Folding listing, which promises hydraulic brakes, showed $600.00 available. If you want a folding fat bike from us now, the RS-A02 Pro is $939 here, no code needed.

How fast does the Ridstar H20 go?

Ridstar's pages give five answers: "28+++mph" in ridstar.net's text, "31MPH" on its motor image, "25MPH" on its banner, and on ridstar.com "Max Speed 20 MPH" and "35km/h-45km/h". In our range model the motor spins up to 31 mph unloaded, and a 180 lb rider settles at 27.0 mph on the flat. At 25 mph and above, the bike fits none of the e-bike definitions in 48 states and DC.

Is the Ridstar H20 1000W or 1500W?

Rated at 1,000 W with a 1,500 W peak, on the best reading of Ridstar's pages. The title, the motor image and both stores' spec rows say "1000W"; the text sets "1500W" beside it in bold and, further down, describes "a 1200W (PEAK 1500W)brushless motor". No torque is published for the H20 1000W, so the range model uses its comparable motor's 90 N·m.

How far can the Ridstar H20 go on one charge?

On flat pavement with the throttle alone, the model gives a 180 lb rider 61 miles at 10 mph, 43 at 15 mph and 30 at 20 mph from a full 15 Ah pack; if you keep a quarter in reserve, plan on 32 at 15 mph. Ridstar's text prints "35 miles in pure electric mode and up to 50 miles in pedal-assist mode" with no speed, and the range section matches each of its figures to one.

How heavy is the Ridstar H20?

64 lb by both Ridstar stores: "Item Weight 64 Pounds" in ridstar.net's Technical Details and an "Item Weight" of "64 Pounds" on ridstar.com, whose table also says "About 63lbs". The dealers list 30 kg (66.1 lb), and one dealer chart says "75LBS". The range model runs on 64 lb and checks 77.16 lb, the MN20's printed weight, which would cost you about a mile at 15 mph on the throttle.

What are the Ridstar H20's specs?

From Ridstar's two H20 1000W listings: a 1,000 W rear hub motor with a 1,500 W peak; a removable 48V pack (15Ah, or 14Ah on one image); 20 × 4.0 tires; mechanical discs; a lockable fork; seven Shimano gears; a twist throttle; a 330 lb load; a 31.4-inch seat; a 5'3" to 6'3" rider window; and 64 lb. The figures table quotes each, with all five top speeds.

Does the Ridstar H20 have two motors?

No. Every H20 listing describes a single rear hub motor. Two motors belong to the H20 Pro, whose motor image reads "2000W" and "85NM×2", and ridstar.net sells the two bikes' spare packs as separate options, $379 for the H20 and $459 for "US / H20 Pro".

Does the Ridstar H20 have hydraulic brakes?

Not by its 1000W listings: ridstar.net's text says "Dual Mechanical Disc Brake", and ridstar.com's table "Disc" under "Brake Style". The separate H20 Folding listing claims a "dual hydraulic disc brake system", so get the brake type in writing from whoever sells you one. If you want hydraulic brakes from our shelf, Samebike lists them on the RS-A02 Plus as "Hydraulic disc brakes".

What size rider fits the Ridstar H20?

Ridstar's window is 5'3" to 6'3", with a 31.4-inch seat height on ridstar.com. Take a 5'8" rider: ANSUR II puts the median inseam at that height at 32.6 inches, which leaves 1.2 inches of leg to spare with both feet flat from the saddle, and at 109% of that inseam the saddle top belongs 35.6 inches above the pedal axle. Send us your inseam and we will work out yours.

As an e-bike, not at the speeds Ridstar prints from 25 mph up: those exceed the speed limit in every e-bike definition a US state or DC writes, 49 in all, with Alaska and Kentucky writing none. At ridstar.com's 20 mph, a 1,000 W bike fits four. Ridden faster, it falls under whatever class your state gives such a bike, with that class's registration, license and equipment rules; start with our atlas.

Do you need a license for the Ridstar H20?

That depends on how your state classifies a bike printed at 25 to 31 mph, and at those speeds the H20 fits no state's e-bike definition. Where a state treats it as a moped or a motorcycle, that class's license and registration rules apply. Our atlas quotes every state's definitions from the statute, and the class section puts the H20's figures through them.

Is the Ridstar H20 named in a CPSC warning or recall?

No. On October 20, 2026 the CPSC's recall list held no Ridstar recall, and the H20 is absent from both of its Ridstar stop-use warnings, 26-337 and 26-584, which concern the Q20, Q20 Pro and Q20 Lite. Ridstar does sell the H20's fork, front axles and spare pack on listings shared with Q20 parts, which the maker's record lists.

Is the Ridstar H20 safe?

Neither the CPSC nor the UK's product safety regulator names it. The CPSC's two warnings are about the Q20 family's "batteries and wires" and its "front wheel", and 25 of the 26 listings selling H20 parts sell Q20 parts too. Three habits answer both: get the fork, axle and battery named in writing, check the front wheel's fastening every ride, and watch the pack while it charges. The UL section covers certification.

Is the Ridstar H20 better than the Q20?

The record separates them: both CPSC warnings name the Q20, and neither names the H20, the bike Ridstar sells on its fold. Their spares are less separate, since 25 ridstar.net parts listings sell options for both, front-end hardware included, and so the warnings' questions reach you as an H20 owner. Our Q20 review reads the Q20 on its own figures.

Is there a YVY H20?

No bike by that name: on October 20, 2026, yvyebike.com's catalog of 52 products used H20 in one title only, a battery listing's. Twelve YVY parts listings offered a "US / H20" option that day, a front fork, a throttle and a charger among them. YVY's company page names "HK RIDSTAR TRADE LIMITED", the business on ridstar.net's company page, and our YVY profile covers the brand.

Where can I get Ridstar H20 parts, a battery or a charger?

On ridstar.net, which listed 26 parts with H20 options on October 20, 2026: the battery at $379, a charger at $69, a controller at $89, a display at $69, a throttle at $59 and brakes at $90 per side. Twenty-five of those listings sell Q20 parts as well, and no Ridstar page says whether the H20 and Q20 options are identical, so confirm the part before you order.

Is there a manual for the Ridstar H20?

Two scanned manuals are linked from H20 listings, the H20 Folding listing's manual and the 1200W listing's manual, and neither names a model. They cover folding, the front-wheel quick release, charging in "3 to 7hours" and five assist levels topping out at "25-30KM/H". One owner on ridstar.net's page found the instructions "very vague".

Will the Ridstar H20 fit in an RV or a car trunk?

Ridstar markets it for that, naming "your vehicle's trunk" and "RV, camper, or van adventures". The one folded size it prints for an H20 is "39*39*28.7" inches, on the 1200W listing, and ridstar.com ships the bike in a box of "58.2 x 11.4 x 31.8 inch". Check your space with a tape, and plan the 64 lb lift.

Is the Ridstar H20 worth it?

At $690, the H20 gives you a fold, a twist throttle and 720 Wh, about $0.96 per watt-hour, when it is in stock. Against that: five printed top speeds, none inside a state's e-bike class from 25 mph up; mechanical brakes another listing calls hydraulic; no UL certificate on Ridstar's pages; and front-end spares listed with the warned Q20's. For the same job today, the RS-A02 Pro is in stock here.

Limitations of this review

Where the record runs out, the list below says so, item by item, with what each gap means when you buy.

  1. Ridstar prints conflicting H20 figures, and this review prints all of them. Top speed: 20, 25, 28+++ and 31 mph, plus 35 to 45 km/h. Motor: 1,000 or 1,200 W. Pack: 15 or 14 Ah. Range: four forms. Charge time: 4 to 6 hours, about 5, or 3 to 7 in the manual. Weight: 63 or 64 lb.
  2. In places the five H20 listings describe different bikes. The Folding listing promises hydraulic brakes and the 1200W listing carries a 2,000 W motor image; this review follows the 1000W listing whose photographs our listing carries, and notes the others where they differ.
  3. The model's 31 mph is the highest of five printed speeds, taken from ridstar.net's motor image. It sets the motor's no-load speed and the top table rows, and if your bike's real top speed is lower, you would get more miles at the fast end.
  4. Torque is not printed for the H20 1000W. The model borrows its comparable motor's 90 N·m ceiling, and no hill row reaches it.
  5. Neither is a controller current limit. By arithmetic the 15% row draws about 1,675 W from the pack, above Ridstar's printed 1,500 W peak, so if your controller is set lower, the bike would climb that grade more slowly.
  6. The motor curve is borrowed. With no published curve for the H20's motor, the model scales Bafang's RM G0H0 to 48 V and 1,000 W and takes its no-load speed from the printed 31 mph; the sensitivity cases keep the 15 mph throttle figure between 42 and 46 miles.
  7. The wheel's outer diameter comes from another maker. For lack of a Ridstar figure, the 22.8 inches Samebike prints for a 20 × 4.0 tire stands in; it matters only for the torque a climb needs, and the flat-road figures do not depend on it.
  8. The H20's tire has no published measurement. Its sidewalls read "CHAO YANG" in Ridstar's photographs and no tread or pressure is printed, so the model's bracket comes from ten 26 × 4.00 fat tires measured on a drum.
  9. The cold correction is one cell's. Ridstar names no cell, so the energy column follows published temperature data for LG's HG2, and below 32 °F the bracket spans the spread in that data.
  10. No measured H20 ride checks the model. The nearest thing is one owner's post on ridstar.net, which gives a weight, a top speed and two distances but no riding speed, grade or temperature; it sits beside the model's 270 lb figures as one person's account.
  11. There is one seat figure, with no position named. ridstar.com prints 31.4 inches and an "Adjustable Seat", and no post range, crank length, standover, grip position or reach, so lean, hand load and a saddle verdict are not computed.
  12. The only side drawing is a dealer's. On ridstar-ebike.com's size chart the length is 170 cm, 8 cm under ridstar.com's 178 cm, and the dealer's printed folded size, "170*102*57cm", repeats it; nothing here is measured from the chart.
  13. ANSUR II measured soldiers. Its 4,082 men and 1,986 women were US Army personnel, who differ from the general public, and above 6'4" it has too few bodies for a row, so your own inseam beats any row.
  14. Saddle formulas are averages. The studies' figures span 106% to 110.4% of inseam, about 1.4 inches on the median 5'8" rider's 32.6-inch inseam, and the heel check on your own leg settles where in that span you belong.
  15. Nothing on a Ridstar or dealer page is a UL certificate for the H20. The one UL claim is a dealer's, without holder or file number, and the "CE trademark" document on ridstar.net is a test of a different machine, the 250 W "FM-002" cargo bike.
  16. Shared listings are not proof of shared parts. Ridstar never says whether the H20 and Q20 options on its 25 common parts listings are the same component, and the warnings, the UK report and the suits name other models, so this review leaves that question open.
  17. Three written reviews, a rating, six dealer reviews and two Reddit posts make up the owner record, each quoted in its author's words and none combined into a score.
  18. One of three dealers could not be read. ridstar.eu and ridstar-ebike.com listed an H20 on October 20, 2026, while ridstar.uk's store searches and sitemaps answered HTTP 404 that day.
  19. Every state result comes from one rule table. It holds 51 rows, one for each state and DC, each linked to the statute it reads; the 44 definitions with a 750-watt limb agree with our September 24, 2026 census, and the federal and California provisions quoted on this page were read again on October 20, 2026.

The bottom line

The H20 is the bike to buy when it is back in stock if folding into a car, a twist throttle, 720 Wh and a 330 lb load for $690 is the brief, and you will ride it under whatever class your state gives a 25 to 31 mph machine.

For a 180 lb rider on the throttle at 15 mph on level ground it computes to 43 miles a charge, and 1,000 miles of that riding cost about $3.07 in electricity. First read the maker's record, get the fork, front axle and battery named, and measure where yours will fold.

It was sold out on October 20, 2026. The nearest match you can order here today is the Samebike RS-A02 Pro at $939, equal to Samebike's own price after its S60 code, ready to order in Black; and if you want a bike inside a class, the VTUVIA SF20H, "Class 2" by its maker's label, is $1,299 in White or Red.
