How we verified this directory — Milad Ghobadibeygvand, BScN
The candidates came from OpenStreetMap, eight makers' dealer maps, a Google Maps search of every county, every Baltimore ZIP area and every Maryland community of 5,000 or more, and the shops AI search engines named. We read each one on its own website and on its Google Maps listing.
A store is listed when its own site offers e-bikes for sale or a maker's dealer map carries its address, and Maps shows it open. Rentals, repair-only counters, mobile services, vehicle dealers and closed stores stay off the list.
Verified October 16, 2026; due again April 2027.
Quick Answer
There are 65 verified e-bike shops in Maryland as of October 16, 2026, in 46 communities across 18 of Maryland's 24 local jurisdictions, its 23 counties and Baltimore City. Montgomery County holds the most, 17, and 13 of Maryland's 19 places of 50,000 or more have a store standing inside their boundaries.
Maryland counts an e-bike as a bicycle when its motor is rated at 750 watts or less (§ 11-117.1), and the state offers no e-bike rebate (rebates).
No counter near you? Every e-bike we sell ships free within the contiguous United States, and our Maryland e-bike law page covers where you may ride.
Maryland's biggest communities are mostly not cities. Of the eighteen places of 50,000 or more after Baltimore, fourteen are census-designated places, communities such as Columbia, Germantown and Waldorf that the Census Bureau draws a boundary around but no city government runs (the Census Bureau's definition), so a list of Maryland's cities alone would leave most of its big communities out.
This page measures both: every county and Baltimore City in the table below, and every place of 50,000 or more, city or census-designated place, by whether a verified store stands inside its boundary.
A mailing address does not settle that. Twenty of the 65 listed stores with a mailing town stand outside the place that town names, each placed by its own point with the Census geocoder: Best Buy Frederick is mailed from Frederick and stands in Ballenger Creek CDP; The Cycle Mill is mailed from Ellicott City and stands in Catonsville CDP.
Each listing gives you the street, a phone number where a source confirms one, and the check that verified the store, so you know what you are driving to before you leave. The listings follow the Maryland Department of Planning's six regions, which hold all 23 counties and Baltimore City between them (MDP population table), and then the mailing town.
The cover shows Thomas Point Shoal Light in the Chesapeake Bay south of Annapolis, a white hexagonal wooden cottage on iron legs that the National Park Service's landmark nomination records in detail: "All seven piles are 10-inch-diameter wrought-iron screwpiles" (NPS nomination, read October 16, 2026).
Maryland's eBike Map, County by County
The table gives every county and Baltimore City with its residents in the Census Bureau's 2024 estimates. "Verified stores" counts the stores standing inside each one; "Open leads" counts the bicycle businesses that turned up as candidates and could not be confirmed as e-bike sellers.

Thirteen of Maryland's 19 places of 50,000 or more have at least one verified store inside their boundaries (Census Bureau 2024 estimates for the cities, the 2020 Census for the census-designated places): Bethesda (CDP) 4, Rockville 3, Columbia (CDP) 2, Frederick 2, Silver Spring (CDP) 2, North Bethesda (CDP) 2, Baltimore 1, Waldorf (CDP) 1, Ellicott City (CDP) 1, Gaithersburg 1, Towson (CDP) 1, Bel Air South (CDP) 1 and Severn (CDP) 1.
Six have none: Germantown (CDP), Glen Burnie (CDP), Dundalk (CDP), Bowie, Wheaton (CDP) and Aspen Hill (CDP); the nearest-store table below gives the closest counter to each.
By region, Suburban Washington lists the most stores, 28 of the 65, in a region home to 37.5% of the state's residents (Census Bureau 2024 estimates). Per resident, Western Maryland leads with 2.0 stores for every 100,000 people against 1.0 statewide, and Southern Maryland is thinnest at 0.5, 2 stores where 6.2% of Marylanders live. If you live there, read the nearest-store table before you plan a test ride.

Bottom line Suburban Washington has the most counters, but count by your own county: six of the 24 show a dash in the table. If yours does, the region listings below give the next county's stores by street, and every e-bike we sell ships free if none suits.
Pick the class before you pick the counter. In Maryland the class you buy decides whether you can take a state-park trail or Ocean City's Boardwalk at all, and how you ride the C&O towpath. The buying guide sets the three classes side by side, so you walk in knowing which one your rides call for.
Read the buying guideMaryland eBike Law — 2026 Quick Reference
You can buy and ride an e-bike in Maryland with no driver's license, title, registration or insurance, because the Vehicle Law counts an electric bicycle as a bicycle (§ 11-104) and leaves it out of "motor vehicle" (§ 11-135(b)(3)). Every section below was read in the code on October 16, 2026. Where you may ride on a trail is set by whoever runs that trail.
- What qualifies. A vehicle with "fully operable pedals", two or three wheels and "a motor with a rating of 750 watts or less", built as one of three classes (§ 11-117.1(a)). A motor rated at exactly 750 watts qualifies, and so does a three-wheeled e-trike.
| Class | How the motor helps | Assistance stops at | Youngest rider on a public road |
|---|---|---|---|
| Class 1 | Only while you pedal | 20 mph | No age set |
| Class 2 | With or without pedaling | 20 mph | No age set |
| Class 3 | Only while you pedal | 28 mph | 16 (§ 21-1205.2(b)) |
- Roads and bike lanes. The code's opening rule is that "electric bicycles may be operated where bicycles are allowed to travel, including bike lanes", subject to the bike-path limits below (§ 21-1205.2(a)(1)). Where a bike lane is paved smooth you must use it, and no bicycle may ride on a road posted above 50 mph (§ 21-1205.1).
- Bike paths. A Class 1 or 2 may use a bike path unless the town or agency that runs it says no. A Class 3 may use one only when the path runs beside a road or its manager allows it (§ 21-1205.2(a)(2)).
- Sidewalks. "Unless prohibited by local ordinance, a person may ride a bicycle, play vehicle, or unicycle on a sidewalk or sidewalk area" (§ 21-1103(b)(2)), the default Jay's Law set from October 1, 2025 (HB 375, Chapter 558 of 2025). On a sidewalk you yield to people walking (§ 21-1202(b)(3)). Check your town's code before you ride one: Baltimore's and Ocean City's are below.
- Age. "A person under the age of 16 years may not operate a Class 3 electric bicycle on a public highway", though a younger rider may sit on one built for a passenger (§ 21-1205.2(b)). The section sets no age for a Class 1 or 2.
- Helmets. Every rider and passenger under 16 must wear one (§ 21-1207.1(c)); the section sets no rule for adults, and Baltimore's e-bike rule below repeats the under-16 line.
- What the shop hands you. Every Maryland bicycle dealer must give each buyer a copy of the state's bicycle laws, which the Motor Vehicle Administration publishes free (§ 21-1212). An e-bike is a bicycle under § 11-104, so ask for it at the counter.
Where each class may ride, in short; the bullets above and below give each rule in full.
| Where | Class 1 | Class 2 | Class 3 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Roads and bike lanes | Yes | Yes | Yes, from 16 |
| Bike paths | Yes, unless the manager bars it | Yes, unless the manager bars it | Only beside a road, or where the manager allows it |
| Sidewalks, the state's default | Yes, unless barred locally | Yes, unless barred locally | Yes, unless barred locally |
| State-park designated trails | Yes | Not listed | Not listed |
| C&O Canal towpath | Yes, 15 mph at most | Yes, 15 mph at most, pedaling only | Yes, 15 mph at most |
| Montgomery Parks natural-surface trails | Yes, if rated 500 watts or less | No | No |
| Ocean City Boardwalk | In the hours the town sets | No | No |
- State parks and forests. On Department of Natural Resources land any e-bike may use public roads, parking lots and ORV trails, and "a bicycle, adaptive bicycle, or Class 1 electric bicycle" may use designated trails only (COMAR 08.01.10.03). The department's own park-policy page, read October 16, 2026, names only the Torrey C. Brown and Western Maryland rail trails as open to Class 1. Ride a Class 1 and check the trail's posted designation: that satisfies both texts.
- The C&O Canal towpath. E-bikes may ride where bicycles can, at 15 mph at most, and "using the electric motor to move an e-bike without pedaling is prohibited" (Superintendent's Compendium 2026, § 4.30). On a Class 2 the throttle stays off for the whole towpath.
- Montgomery Parks trails. The code lets the agency that runs a natural-surface trail regulate e-bikes "of any class" on it (§ 21-1205.2(a)(2)(iii)), and since June 18, 2026 the county's park system has allowed Class 1 e-bikes and adaptive mountain bikes on designated natural-surface trails (announcement).
- Montgomery Parks' 500-watt line. The directive authorizes e-bikes "as defined in the Park Rules" (MC-26-001), and the Park Rules define one with "a motor with a rating of 500 watts or less" (Park Rules, Ch. II § 1(G)). If those trails are why you are buying, buy a Class 1 rated 500 watts or less, which fits both texts.
Bottom line Buy the class for the riding you will do. A Class 1 opens the most ground in Maryland, from state-park trails to the towpath and Ocean City's Boardwalk; a Class 2 or 3 is at home on roads and bike lanes; and a Montgomery Parks trail rider should also check that the motor is rated 500 watts or less.
- Baltimore City. The city's e-bike rule bars riding on a sidewalk "unless the posted speed on the abutting public right-of-way is 30 miles per hour or greater" and you hold 6 mph or less, and it requires a helmet under 16 and a headlight after dusk (Art. 31 § 38-18).
- Baltimore's two rules. Its definition of an e-bike names wheels over 20 inches and "a locking device" (§ 38-1), so whether it reaches a privately owned bike is not settled; the older bicycle rule bans every sidewalk to a bike "propelled by human power" (§ 18-8, § 18-1). Treat Baltimore's sidewalks as closed and you are inside both.
- Ocean City. The town bars bicycles and e-bikes from every sidewalk "within the corporate limits of Ocean City at any time" (§ 90-194(a)), the local exception Jay's Law leaves room for.
- The Ocean City Boardwalk. A Class 1 may ride "during the periods and times established by resolution of the Mayor and City Council", and a Class 2 or 3 is barred there "at any time" (§ 90-193(a) and (d)). The town's page sets them at 2:00 AM to 2:00 PM from the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day, and any time otherwise (Town of Ocean City, read October 16, 2026).
What breaking a rule costs
| The rule you break | What the law says it costs |
|---|---|
| A rule of the Maryland Vehicle Law, the e-bike rules included (age, roads, paths, sidewalks) | A misdemeanor, with a fine of up to $500 (§ 27-101) |
| Riding without a helmet under 16 | A warning and safety material, not a fine: the section "shall be enforced by the issuance of a warning" (§ 21-1207.1(d)) |
| An e-bike where the state's trail rule bars it, first offense | A misdemeanor, with a fine of up to $500 (Natural Resources § 5-1301(a) and (c), as COMAR 08.01.10.06 provides) |
| A second offense within two years | A fine of up to $1,000, up to one year in jail, or both (§ 5-1301(b)) |
| A Class 2 or 3 on a Montgomery Parks trail | Warnings, citations, removal from park property or impoundment of the e-bike, as the park system announced |
| Breaking Baltimore's e-bike operating rule | An environmental or civil citation, and "Each day that a violation continues is separate offense" (§ 38-27) |
| An e-bike on an Ocean City sidewalk, or a Class 2 or 3 on its Boardwalk | A municipal infraction (§ 90-196) |
Rebates and tax credits
Maryland has no state e-bike rebate or tax credit: every bill that would have created one died. House Bill 1008 of 2023, an Electric Bicycle Rebate Program, drew an unfavorable committee report (HB 1008).
A 2023 income tax credit (HB 1268), a 2024 rebate and voucher program (HB 156) and a 2024 sales tax exemption (HB 1075) never passed, and the General Assembly's full bill lists for 2025 and 2026 hold no such bill.
The federal Alternative Fuels Data Center lists Maryland's vehicle incentives and laws, and none of its entries mentions a bicycle (read October 16, 2026).
Baltimore City ran a one-time $75,000 e-bike voucher pilot in 2024, worth up to $2,000 toward an e-bike from approved vendors for city residents who applied between September 24 and October 10, 2024 (archived city release). The Department of Transportation's Bike Baltimore page, read October 16, 2026, lists no voucher among its programs.
No e-bike rebate appears on the websites of the 13 electric utilities that EIA Form 861 and the Public Service Commission list for Maryland, read on October 16, 2026: five in full and eight in part, where a site refused some of its pages. A program can start at any time, so ask your power company before you buy.
E-Bike Shops in Maryland, Region by Region
Each region lists its stores under the mailing town each one prints, the post office's name. The coverage table above counts each store in the county where it stands, so a store under a town heading can count toward the county next door, and nine of the 65 stand in no Census place at all.

Heading for the trails? The electric mountain bike guide compares the trail-ready picks. Check each pick's class and motor rating against the trail you ride: the state's regulation lists a Class 1 for the designated trails on its lands and no other class, and for Montgomery Parks' natural-surface trails a Class 1 rated 500 watts or less fits both of the park system's texts.

If your place has none: the nearest verified store
Six of Maryland's 19 places of 50,000 or more have no verified store inside their boundaries. The table gives each one the closest store, measured in a straight line from the Census Bureau's point for the place to the store; the drive is longer.
| Place | People | Nearest verified store | Miles |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wheaton (CDP) | 52,150 | The Bicycle Place, Rockville | 2.3 |
| Aspen Hill (CDP) | 51,063 | Good Vibes Bikes, Rockville | 2.7 |
| Germantown (CDP) | 91,249 | Sun & Ski Sports, Gaithersburg | 4.3 |
| Bowie | 58,421 | Family Bike Shop, Crofton | 4.3 |
| Glen Burnie (CDP) | 72,891 | Sun & Ski Sports, Hanover | 6.4 |
| Dundalk (CDP) | 67,796 | Baltimore Bicycle Works, Baltimore | 7.2 |
Wheaton is the closest call, 2.3 miles from The Bicycle Place, and Dundalk the farthest at 7.2 miles from Baltimore Bicycle Works. Call ahead before you drive: a counter that shows e-bikes online may not have your size on the floor.

Who sells electric bikes in Maryland?
At any of the 65 storefronts listed above, in 46 communities and 18 of the 24 jurisdictions. Start with the county you ride in: Montgomery County has the most, 17. Each listing names the check that verified it, and a dealer-map grade links to the maker's own locator, so you can see which brands a store is authorized to sell before you call.
Where are the electric bike stores in Baltimore?
Inside the city limits, one verified store: Baltimore Bicycle Works on Falls Road. Baltimore County adds ten, by mailing town Catonsville (2), Cockeysville (1), Ellicott City (1), Hereford (1), Monkton (1), Owings Mills (1), Pikesville (1), Timonium (1) and Towson (1).
Baltimore's own code keeps e-bikes off a sidewalk unless the road beside it is posted at 30 mph or more (Art. 31 § 38-18), and its older bicycle rule bars bikes from every sidewalk (§ 18-8), so plan your first ride on its bike lanes.
Where are the e-bike shops in Columbia, Rockville and Gaithersburg?
Counted by the boundary each store stands inside (Census geocoder), Columbia has two, Rockville three and Gaithersburg one. Counted by mailing address, which is how the listings are grouped, Columbia addresses carry two, Rockville four and Gaithersburg two; the listings under Suburban Washington and the Baltimore Region give each store's street.
Where are the e-bike shops in Frederick, Hagerstown and Salisbury?
By mailing address, Frederick has four, Hagerstown two and Salisbury one. Frederick's sit in Suburban Washington's listings, Hagerstown's under Western Maryland and Salisbury's under the Lower Eastern Shore, each with its street, phone and the check that verified it.
Are e-bikes legal in Maryland?
Yes. Maryland treats an electric bicycle as a bicycle when it has working pedals, two or three wheels and a motor rated at 750 watts or less, built as a Class 1, 2 or 3 (§ 11-117.1, § 11-104). You may ride one wherever a bicycle may go, bike lanes included (§ 21-1205.2(a)(1)). A bike that goes past those limits is not an e-bike under the statute.
A Class 3, the 28 mph pedal-assist kind, is legal too once you are 16: the code bars anyone younger from operating one "on a public highway" (§ 21-1205.2(b)), and keeps it off a bike path unless the path runs beside a road or the agency that runs it opens it (§ 21-1205.2(a)(2)).
Do you need to register an e-bike or wear a helmet in Maryland?
You need no registration, title, license plate or insurance: the Vehicle Law leaves an electric bicycle out of "motor vehicle" (§ 11-135(b)(3)). A helmet is required for every rider and passenger under 16, and the first response to a missing one is a warning rather than a fine (§ 21-1207.1(c) and (d)). Adults choose for themselves under state law.
Are e-bikes allowed in Maryland state parks?
On Department of Natural Resources land, any e-bike may use public roads, parking lots and off-road-vehicle trails, while the designated trails are listed for "a bicycle, adaptive bicycle, or Class 1 electric bicycle" and for no other class (COMAR 08.01.10.03).
The department's park-policy page names the Torrey C. Brown and Western Maryland rail trails as open to Class 1 (DNR), so read the trailhead sign before you ride a Class 1 anywhere else.
Are e-bikes allowed on the Ocean City boardwalk?
Only a Class 1, and only in the hours the town council sets (§ 90-193(a)): from the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day that window runs 2:00 AM to 2:00 PM, and outside the summer season you may ride at any hour (Town of Ocean City). A Class 2 or 3 is never allowed on the Boardwalk (§ 90-193(d)), and no e-bike may ride an Ocean City sidewalk.
The Bottom Line
Maryland's 65 verified e-bike counters stand in 18 of its 24 local jurisdictions and inside 13 of its 19 places of 50,000 or more. Suburban Washington lists 28 of them; Southern Maryland lists 2. Where your county has none, the listings for the counties next to it are where to start.
Bottom line Settle the class your rides need, then the closest counter that carries it. Maryland asks for no title or registration, and every e-bike we sell ships free to a Maryland address (shipping policy).
Buy at a counter if you want to sit on the frame before you pay, have a mechanic set the brakes and the fit, and know where to wheel the bike when a spoke or a cable needs work.
Buy online if the model you want stands on no floor near you. Read the class and the motor rating off the maker's spec sheet before you order: Maryland's definition stops at "a motor with a rating of 750 watts or less" (§ 11-117.1(a)), and if you plan to ride Montgomery Parks' natural-surface trails, keep to the 500 watts its Park Rules name.
Why buy from us when the nearest counter is a county away. Every e-bike we sell ships free within the contiguous United States, Maryland included (shipping policy), and at checkout on October 16, 2026 you could pay by card or with Google Pay.
The warranty is the maker's, and we file the claim for you: if your bike will not power on, will not charge or shows an error code, our U.S. team arranges the repair or the replacement remotely (refund policy). Order, delivery and warranty questions go to support@redtailebikes.com.
Not sure which class your rides need? Email sales@redtailebikes.com the town you live in and the trails or roads you plan to ride. The team usually replies within one business day (contact page), and the advice costs you nothing.
Living in a rowhouse or an apartment? A folding e-bike stands in a closet and rides in a car trunk. The folding guide weighs the picks by folded size and weight, so you can lift one at the counter before you buy it.
See the folding picksBefore you pay anywhere, ask the counter for the copy of Maryland's bicycle laws every dealer must hand you (§ 21-1212), and check the class printed on the bike against the class on the receipt.
If you know a Maryland shop that sells e-bikes and is missing here, or you find an error, write to sales@redtailebikes.com; verified corrections are published. Last verified October 16, 2026.

How the count was reached
Every storefront appears once: 65 verified storefronts, all of them listed on this page.
Where the candidates came from. OpenStreetMap returned 77 entries tagged as bicycle shops in Maryland; with unnamed entries dropped and repeats merged, 71 remained, 38 of them with a website. Eight makers' dealer locators supplied 77 storefront rows: the dealer maps of Bosch, Aventon, Giant, Trek, Specialized, Velotric, Pedego and SWFT's Best Buy pages. Three more makers' locators were read whole for Maryland: Magnum's and Lectric's added twenty storefront rows, and QuietKat's lists fourteen Maryland locations.
| What the Google Maps search covered | Places searched |
|---|---|
| Counties and Baltimore City | all 24 |
| Incorporated cities and towns of 5,000 or more | 46 |
| Census-designated places of 5,000 or more | 159 |
| ZIP areas of Baltimore City | 27 |
| "Electric bike shop" searches, places of 25,000 or more and Baltimore ZIP areas | 83 |
A Google Maps search asked for bike shops in each of those places: 339 searches, which with their follow-up reads turned up 73 candidates to check.
The answers the AI engines gave to the 16 questions were read for the businesses they named; one that no other source carried was read on Google Maps and on its own site like the rest, and it proved to be Salisbury Cycle & Fitness, already listed.
Reddit was read too: 24 of 27 searches of nine Maryland subreddits were answered (r/howardcounty answered none), for the questions riders ask and the shops they name, and the 532 replies under the 29 posts those searches found were read for shop names too.
What counted. A candidate's own website had to offer e-bikes for sale in its own words, through a price, a shop category that lists an e-bike, or a sentence that says so. An e-bike named only in a repair menu, a rental rate, a raffle, a trail announcement or a parts list does not qualify, and neither does a powersports dealer's e-bike page.
When a site would not load, it was tried again in a real browser, through a text reader and in an archived copy. Every candidate whose first read named no e-bike for sale was crawled page by page, so a shop whose e-bikes sit deep in its own catalog is counted too.
A maker's dealer map is the second way in: a store counts when the Bosch, SWFT, Aventon, Pedego, Specialized and Giant map lists its address as an e-bike dealer. Then each store's own Google Maps listing was read: all 65 resolved to one business at the listed address that Google shows as open, and a store Google shows closed, even temporarily, is left out.
How to read the listings
The grade at the end of each listing tells you what confirmed that the store sells e-bikes.
Site checked covers 42 of the 65: the shop's own website offers e-bikes for sale.
Chain site checked covers 8: one website serves several storefronts (for example Bike Doctor Arnold, Patapsco Bicycles Elkridge and Good Vibes Bikes), so it proves the business sells e-bikes, and the listing tells you which branch you are visiting.
A maker's dealer map covers 15: a maker lists the store as an authorized e-bike dealer, and the grade links to that maker's locator. All 15 have a website of their own that did not show e-bikes for sale in its own words or could not be read, so the maker's map is the evidence.

A phone number appears where the sources agree or only one gives one; where a maker's roster and Google Maps disagree, the shop's own site decides, and a listing carries no number when the site settles nothing. Call ahead before you drive, whatever the grade.
Why the map is thin where it is thin
OpenStreetMap carries 34 of the 65 storefronts listed here, so a directory built from that map alone would miss 31 of them. The makers' dealer maps and the statewide Google Maps search each found stores the other sources did not.
Closures were settled on Google Maps and on the shops' own sites: 9 storefronts that a maker's roster or another source still listed are closed (8 permanently, 1 temporarily).
Limitations
- 62 candidates remain open leads, named in the research files and not counted: 31 with sites that name no e-bike for sale, 14 that could not be confirmed and 17 with no website of their own. Each deserves a phone call before you rule it out; none is a finding that the business does not sell e-bikes.
- Why 14 could not be confirmed: ten whose sites would not load, one whose website's domain no longer resolves, one whose only listed site is a social network's front page and two whose store pages name no e-bike while the chain's online shop, which listed e-bikes when last archived, would not load.
- Named and not counted: 10 listings that are not a bicycle store (five motorcycle and powersports businesses, one marina, one online seller's office, one public park, one free public bike repair stand and one vehicle dealer), 8 closed storefronts, 2 businesses that only rent e-bikes, 4 shops that decline e-bike work, 6 duplicate listings and 1 old address of a shop listed at its current one.
- Place boundaries are the Census Bureau's. A store counts toward a place of 50,000 or more only if its own point stands inside that place's boundary, so a store mailed from Rockville or Annapolis can stand in a census-designated place next door. Populations are the 2024 estimates for the cities and the 2020 Census for the census-designated places, which have no newer count.
- Local rules were surveyed for two towns. State law leaves the sidewalk to "local ordinance" (§ 21-1103(b)(2)), so each of Maryland's 157 cities and towns may set its own rule; this page cites Baltimore City's and Ocean City's codes and the Montgomery Parks directive, and no other town's.
- This is a floor, not a census. A shop on no maker's dealer map, not in OpenStreetMap and not in Google Maps would not be found here. A Maps search by name can also return a same-named shop across the state line, so every address was checked for Maryland before a store was counted.
- Demand evidence. The questions this page answers come from 3,201 Google and Bing completions and related searches and 29 Maryland forum posts read on October 16, 2026, and from AI search engines' answers to 16 questions on October 16, 2026: Gemini and a web-search tool run in place of the engines that refused answered all 16.
- What could not be measured. Brave Search, ChatGPT, Copilot Search, Google AI Mode and Perplexity returned no usable answer: each served a bot check or no answer to a headless browser, and was not retried in a visible window. No search-volume figure is used: the paid keyword tool's account had no API units on October 16, 2026, so every volume is unmeasured, never zero.
- What would age this page. It is due for re-checking in April 2027, and sooner if a listed shop closes or moves, if the General Assembly amends the sections cited above, if a county or town restricts e-bikes by ordinance, or when the Census Bureau publishes new local estimates.
- Distances are straight lines. The nearest-store table measures from each place's Census point to each store's coordinates; the road distance is longer.
