15 ebike deer carts and trailers rated · 70 to 220 lb towed · 3 picks from 3 brands, $259 to $329 · Ohio's average buck: 129.69 lb field dressed · every rating read at the maker on September 28, 2026
An ebike deer cart is a trailer or game cart that hitches to your e-bike and carries the animal on its own wheels, so the deer rides behind you instead of on the bike.
Quick answer. Yes, if the trailer is rated above the deer. Ohio's average buck weighs 129.69 lb field dressed and its average doe 92.27 lb. Of 15 e-bike trailers and carts read at their makers, the ratings run from 70 lb to 220 lb, and 9 of the 14 that print one carry at least 115 lb.
So the answer splits three ways, by the job:
- A whole buck behind a Tesway: the Tesway Cargo Trailer, $299. Rated 100 kg (220 lb), the top rating in the census, for the six Tesway bikes Tesway lists.
- A whole buck behind most other bikes: the VTUVIA Cargo Bike Trailer, $259. Rated 60 kg (132 lb), a 22 lb steel trailer; we check your axle before it ships.
- Narrow trails behind a Eunorau: the Eunorau Cargo Trailer, 1 Wheel, $329. Rated 100 lb on one 20 × 4 inch fat tire with suspension, with an adapter Eunorau lists for twelve of its models.
Tire tracks on a wet gravel forest road, a scene built from the Forest Service's description of Pennsylvania's Allegheny National Forest. Pennsylvania's Game Commission publishes the deer weight chart this guide uses.
| The job | The pick | Price | Rated load | Fits |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| A whole buck, Tesway bike | Tesway Cargo Trailer | $299 | 100 kg (220 lb) | Six Tesway models |
| A whole buck, most bikes | VTUVIA Cargo Bike Trailer | $259 | 60 kg (132 lb) | We check your axle |
| Narrow trails, a Eunorau | Eunorau Cargo Trailer, 1 Wheel | $329 | 100 lb (45 kg) | Twelve Eunorau models |

How we verified this guide
Every figure on this page comes from a document we read and saved, and the three data files behind it are published with the guide. We consulted 31 sources and retrieved all 31 in full on September 29, 2026; none was unreachable.
- Ratings. The rated load, weight, price and fit of 15 trailers and game carts, read at each maker on September 28, 2026: every one Google showed for this page's searches, plus every trailer sold by a brand we carry. Each figure was checked against the maker's own words (census file).
- Deer. Field-dressed weights from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources' 2017 study of 115 deer and the Pennsylvania Game Commission's weight chart.
- Towing. Power, battery and braking computed with a published road-load model (Martin et al., 1998), every input named (towing file).

Can an e-bike pull a deer?
Yes, when the trailer is rated for the deer and the bike can move the whole rig up your steepest road. Three numbers decide it: the deer's weight, the trailer's rating, and the power the combined load needs on a grade.
The deer comes first. In Ohio's 2017 study, the Division of Wildlife recorded the field-dressed weight of 115 deer during the gun season: "The average deer weighed 107.56 pounds field dressed," with antlered deer averaging 129.69 lb and antlerless deer 92.27 lb (Ohio DNR). The Pennsylvania Game Commission's chart puts a deer with a 37-inch chest at 146 lb live and 115 lb field dressed (PGC chart).
The trailer comes second. A rating is what the maker says the trailer may carry, and it varies about threefold across the market: Rambo rates its R180 cart at "Max 70Lb load when hooked up to a bike", and Tesway rates its cargo trailer at "Maximum load: 100 kg (220 lbs)" (Rambo; Tesway).
The bike comes last. With an average buck in a 30 lb trailer behind a 200 lb rider on an 80 lb bike, holding 8 mph up a 10% dirt road takes 818 W at the wheel, against 527 W with no trailer (towing file). That figure is computed, and the power section shows the model.
The load: field-dressed deer and elk weights
Plan on 130 lb for a whole buck and 92 lb for a whole doe, field dressed, and about 45 to 63 lb of boned meat. Those are Ohio's measured averages. Your deer can run heavier: Wyoming's mule deer bucks dress at 120 to 190 lb, and the Pennsylvania chart runs to 272 lb field dressed at a 48-inch chest.
| The animal | Weight | Kind | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Whitetail doe, Ohio average | 92.27 lb | Field dressed | Ohio DNR |
| Whitetail, Ohio average of 115 | 107.56 lb | Field dressed | Ohio DNR |
| Whitetail, 37-inch chest | 115 lb | Field dressed | PGC chart |
| Whitetail buck, Ohio average | 129.69 lb | Field dressed | Ohio DNR |
| Mule deer buck, Wyoming | 120 to 190 lb | Field dressed | Wyoming Game and Fish |
| Elk bull | 437 lb | Field dressed | University of Wyoming |
| Elk bull | 218 lb | Boneless | University of Wyoming |
| Whitetail buck, Ohio average | 62.51 lb | Boned venison | Ohio DNR |
| Whitetail doe, Ohio average | 45.05 lb | Boned venison | Ohio DNR |
Wyoming Game and Fish says mule deer bucks dressed "will normally range from 120-190 pounds", and "It is not unusual for a forkhorn or doe to yield no more than 50 pounds of boned meat" (Wyoming Game and Fish). The University of Wyoming puts a bull elk at 437 lb field dressed and 218 lb boneless, and a cow at 339 lb and 169 lb (B-594R).
Weigh your own deer against these before you choose. A trailer bought for Ohio's average doe will not take Ohio's average buck, and no trailer in this guide takes a field-dressed bull elk whole (census file; B-594R).
What is the maximum weight limit for e-bike trailers?
The ratings run from 70 lb to 220 lb, with a median of 150 lb. We read the rated load of every e-bike trailer and game cart Google showed for these searches, and every trailer sold by a brand we carry: 15 products from 9 makers, on September 28, 2026. Fourteen print a towed rating; Freesky's pre-order trailer prints none on its listing.
Red bars are sold here. The light band on the Bakcou bars is the top of the range Bakcou prints.

The trailer's own weight, where its maker prints one, from lightest: VTUVIA 22 lb, Bakcou Ultralight 25 lb, the Rambo cart 25 lb, Eunorau two-wheel 27.8 lb, QuietKat one-wheel 34 lb, Eunorau one-wheel 36 lb, QuietKat game trailer 38 lb and Bakcou Folding Cargo 42 lb. The other seven print none (census file).
Seven of the 14 rated products sit between 100 lb and 200 lb, two sit below 100 lb and five are rated at 220 lb (census file). Bakcou prints a range for both of its trailers, "150 lbs to 200 lbs capacity depending on trail", so the table compares its lower end.
The 300 lb figure on Rambo's cart is its hand-cart rating. Rambo's own words are "Carrying Capacity: 300lbs *when using as a hand cart. Max 70Lb load when hooked up to a bike" (Rambo). Hitched to your e-bike, it is the lowest-rated product in the census.
The five sold here are the three picks below and two more Eunorau trailers, all in our Eunorau accessories collection and every accessory we sell.
Every trailer here ships free in the lower 48, with US support and Shop Pay installments at checkout.
See the 3 trailer picksWhich ebike deer cart or trailer should you buy?
Match the rating to your heaviest deer, and match the hitch to your bike before anything else. A trailer that fits the deer but not your axle stays in the box. So the three picks below split by the bike you ride and the deer you take: the only fit lists printed by the makers we sell are Tesway's and Eunorau's, and VTUVIA's trailer carries no list.
Whole buck, Tesway bike: Tesway Cargo Trailer, $299
Tesway's photograph of its Cargo Trailer: two spoked wheels, a flat bed inside side rails, and the hitch arm that mounts it to a Tesway.
Who it is for. You ride a Tesway and take whole deer out of the woods. Tesway rates it at "Maximum load: 100 kg (220 lbs)", which carries Ohio's average buck (129.69 lb) with 90 lb to spare, and a mule deer buck at the top of Wyoming's 190 lb range (Tesway).
What decides it. The top rating in the census, and a fit list Tesway prints by model: the C5 AWD, X9 AWD and X9 Ultra, and the X7 PRO, X5 AWD and X7 AWD "(Available for 2026 batch orders only)". Tesway adds: "Compatible with original TESWAY electric bikes only."
Five of those six are on our shelf, each with a full review: the C5 AWD, X9 Ultra, X7 AWD, X5 AWD and X7 PRO. For an X7 PRO, X5 AWD or X7 AWD, send us your order date and we confirm the batch before the trailer ships (Tesway's fit list).
Who it is wrong for. Anyone on a bike from another maker, because Tesway lists its own models only. Read the VTUVIA trailer next.
Rated 220 lb, for the six Tesway bikes Tesway lists. Tesway's own price, shipped free in the lower 48, and we file the carrier claim if it arrives damaged. Full specification and photos.
Add the Tesway trailer, $299Whole buck, most bikes: VTUVIA Cargo Bike Trailer, $259
VTUVIA's photograph of its Bike Cargo Trailer from the side: a steel frame on a 16-inch wheel, with the hitch arm to the left.
Who it is for. You ride another maker's bike and want a light trailer for whitetail. VTUVIA rates it at "Maximum Load: 60 kg (~132 lbs)" with a net weight of 22 lb, the lightest trailer in the census with a printed weight (VTUVIA).
What decides it. Price and weight. At $259 it is the lowest price on a trailer rated above 100 lb that anyone in the census had in stock on September 28, 2026, and it covers Ohio's average buck (129.69 lb) with 2.3 lb to spare. That margin is thin, so plan on a doe, a smaller buck, or a buck with your gear on the bike.
VTUVIA prints no model list for this trailer (VTUVIA). Tell us your bike and we check its rear axle against the hitch before the order ships: support@redtailebikes.com.
Who it is wrong for. Hunters whose deer run heavier than Ohio's average buck, and Tesway riders, who have the 220 lb Tesway trailer above.
Rated 132 lb at 22 lb. VTUVIA's own price, shipped free in the lower 48, with US support if the hitch needs a second look. Full specification and photos.
Add the VTUVIA trailer, $259Narrow trails, a Eunorau: Eunorau Cargo Trailer, 1 Wheel, $329
Eunorau's photograph of its one-wheel Cargo Trailer: a mesh bed on a single 20 × 4 inch fat tire with a coil shock.
Who it is for. You ride a Eunorau hunting bike on trails too narrow for a two-wheel trailer. Eunorau rates it at "Maximum Load: 100 lbs / 45 kgs", on one 20 × 4 inch fat tire with suspension, and says it "follows closely to your bike" on "narrower trails" (Eunorau).
What decides it. Eunorau lists a hitch part for twelve of its models, by model: a quick-release skewer, an M12 thru-axle adapter or an M12 motor-axle adapter, with its fat-tire bikes on the list. The trailer's listing names the part for each model, and all three parts are sold here.
Who it is wrong for. Anyone hauling a whole buck: at 100 lb it takes Ohio's average doe (92.27 lb) or a buck's boned meat (62.51 lb). Behind one of the six Eunorau models its fit list names, Eunorau's two-wheel hunting trailer carries the whole animal at 200 lb; behind any other Eunorau, bone the buck first.
Rated 100 lb on one fat tire. Eunorau's own price, shipped free in the lower 48, and your hitch part checked against your model before it ships. Full specification and photos.
Add the Eunorau trailer, $329Why three picks. A pick has to fit your bike by the maker's own list, be in stock and be sold here. Eunorau's other two trailers are rated higher, but the 220 lb one names no Eunorau model, and the 200 lb two-wheeler is listed as not compatible with six Eunorau models, three of its fat-tire bikes among them. Both are on the census above, and both are in our Eunorau accessories.
What a loaded trailer costs in power, battery and brakes
Towing an average buck needs about 45 to 56% more power than riding alone, cuts battery range by about 31 to 36%, and can lengthen your stop by up to 57%. Those figures are computed for a 200 lb rider on an 80 lb bike with a 30 lb trailer at 8 mph on a dirt road, and the table shows every grade.
| Road grade | Power alone | Power with a buck | Battery per mile with a buck | Range with a buck |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Flat | 84 W | 122 W | 19.1 Wh | 31.2% less |
| 3% | 218 W | 332 W | 51.8 Wh | 34.4% less |
| 6% | 351 W | 541 W | 84.5 Wh | 35.2% less |
| 10% | 527 W | 818 W | 127.8 Wh | 35.6% less |
| 15% | 744 W | 1,159 W | 181.0 Wh | 35.8% less |
Watts at the wheel at 8 mph on packed dirt, from the towing file. Computed with the road-load model below.
Power. The road-load model is Martin and colleagues': the power to lift the whole mass up the grade, plus rolling resistance, plus air drag. Air drag uses 0.614 m², measured on e-bikes in use by Tengattini and Bigazzi (2018). A loaded trailer adds mass, so the grade term grows with it, and the model leaves the trailer's own drag out: read the loaded figures as floors.
Battery. Energy per mile rises with the same mass. Holding 8 mph with an average buck in tow uses 19.1 Wh a mile on a flat dirt road against 13.1 Wh alone, and 127.8 Wh against 82.3 Wh up 10%, at 80% battery-to-wheel efficiency. An average doe costs about 26 to 30% of range; an empty trailer costs about 8 to 10%.
Brakes. None of the 15 trailers in the census lists a brake, so your bike's two tires stop the trailer too. At the same speed and grip, stopping distance grows with the total mass moving over the mass on the bike's wheels: 1.11 times with an empty trailer, 1.44 times with a doe and 1.57 times with a buck. Take descents slower than you would ride them alone.
Motor. 750 W delivered at the wheel holds 8 mph up 15.1% alone and 9.0% with a buck in tow. Hub or mid-drive? At a crawl a hub motor's pull is capped by its torque, while a mid-drive works through your gears, and our hunting e-bike guide models both, forest by forest.
On the climb: with an average buck in tow, 750 W at the wheel holds 8 mph up a 9.0% grade instead of 15.1%, and your stop runs 1.57 times as long. Take the loaded descent slower than you would ride it alone.
Can you tow a trailer with an e-bike?
Yes, with a hitch that fits your bike. QuietKat, Bakcou and Eunorau describe their hitches by the rear axle they mount on, and the axle decides the fit: its thread and size, whether it is a solid axle, a thru axle or a quick release, and on a hub-motor bike, the motor's own axle nut.
Rambo's cart is the exception: on a Rambo without a rear rack, Rambo says its R150 G2 rack "is required to allow installation" (Rambo).
| Your rear axle | What the makers list | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Solid axle with nuts | A hitch plate on the axle nut, 3/8 in, 10 mm or 12 mm | QuietKat game trailer |
| Hub motor, M12 nut | An adapter on the motor's axle nut | Eunorau motor-axle adapter |
| Thru axle | A replacement thru axle with a hitch point | Eunorau M12 thru-axle adapter |
| Quick release | A quick-release skewer with a hitch point | Eunorau 190 mm skewer |
| A maker's own hitch | Only that maker's bikes | Tesway Cargo Trailer |
QuietKat's game trailer attaches "to any standard or electric bike with the included 3/8" threaded rear axle or 12mm rear axle" (QuietKat). Bakcou's Ultralight hitch "connects to both 3/8" and 10mm axle bolts", and "For use with hub motor eBikes, purchase the optional 12mm hitch" (Bakcou).
On a hub-motor bike, mind the motor cable. Eunorau's M12-to-M10 adapter note says that on whichever side you mount it, "your hub motor cable cannot be located at the shaft center" on that side (Eunorau). Check where your cable leaves the axle before you order.
If the fit is not printed for your bike, ask before you buy: tell us your bike and we check it against the hitch the maker supplies.
Fit first: name your rear axle (a solid axle with nuts, a hub motor's M12 nut, a thru axle or a quick release), then buy the hitch your trailer's maker lists for it.
How do you legally tow a trailer with an electric bike?
On a national forest, a trailer goes only where the e-bike may go, because the e-bike is a motor vehicle there. That means the roads and trails your forest's Motor Vehicle Use Map opens to motor vehicles, and nowhere else. The one exception for game is a strip along certain routes that a forest may open for retrieving a legally taken big game animal.
The rule. Once a forest publishes its map, 36 CFR § 261.13 makes it "prohibited to possess or operate a motor vehicle on National Forest System lands in that administrative unit or Ranger District other than in accordance with those designations."
The authority. Under 36 CFR § 212.51(b), the forest may include "the limited use of motor vehicles within a specified distance of certain forest roads or trails where motor vehicle use is allowed ... solely for the purposes of dispersed camping or retrieval of a downed big game animal by an individual who has legally taken that animal."
How forests apply it. Some print that allowance on the map: the 2026 map for the Kisatchie Ranger District lists routes "designated for the motor vehicle use under 36 CFR 212.51 ... solely for the purpose of dispersed camping and/or game retrieval" and refers riders to its own table (Kisatchie MVUM).
Others close it to e-bikes outright. The Rio Grande National Forest's reminder reads: "electric bicycles, also called e-bikes are considered motorized vehicles and are not allowed on closed roads or non-motorized trails and cannot be used for off-road game retrieval" (Rio Grande NF).
Enforcement. Riding off the map is a federal misdemeanor under 36 CFR § 261.1b: "imprisonment of not more than six months or a fine in accordance with the applicable provisions of 18 U.S.C. 3571 or both."
On a national forest: tow only on routes your map opens to motor vehicles, and leave a route with a downed animal only where the map allows game retrieval. The Rio Grande National Forest rules e-bikes out of it.
Where it is heading. On August 24, 2026 the Forest Service opened a rewrite of its travel rule (91 FR 54686). Until a final rule is published, the sections above govern.
Where hunters read it differently. A map's game-retrieval allowance and an e-bike are two separate questions, and forests answer the second one differently, as the two maps above show. Read your own forest's map for both before you tow.
On state land the state writes the rule: our 50-state hunting-land table quotes each wildlife agency. For BLM land, national parks, refuges and wilderness, read our public-land guide.
Before you tow on public land, read your state's row: our hunting-land law table quotes each agency's rule, class by class.
Check your state's hunting-land ruleHow do I safely secure a deer to a trailer?
Keep the carcass clean and contained, strap it down, and keep the load inside the rating. The makers build for this: QuietKat's trailer is "perfect for carrying game" on an adjustable rack, Eunorau's hunting trailer carries "A fitted black cover" to keep "your cargo contained and protected", and Bakcou's Folding Cargo trailer has "a removable canvas liner and top" (QuietKat; Eunorau; Bakcou).
Clean meat is more meat. Wyoming Game and Fish says hunters "can increase the yield by making better shots, keeping the carcass clean, and not skinning the animal until it is ready to be processed" (Wyoming Game and Fish).
Your pre-tow checklist
- Weigh the deer against the rating. Use the weight table, or the Pennsylvania chart by chest girth, and keep the load under the trailer's printed rating.
- Fit the hitch at home. Mount it on your axle before the hunt, and on a hub-motor bike, check where the motor cable leaves the axle.
- Check the climb. Find your steepest road in the power table, in the column with a buck in tow.
- Read the map. Your forest's Motor Vehicle Use Map decides where the trailer may go, and whether it allows game retrieval off the route.
- Cover the load. A liner or a fitted cover keeps the carcass clean on the ride out.
- Plan the descent. With a buck in tow, your stop runs about 1.57 times as long, so give yourself the room before every downhill (towing file).
Are bike trailers worth it?
If you take whole deer out of the woods, yes: one trip instead of two or three. A rear rack rated at 55 lb, the rating Eahora and VTUVIA print on their racks, carries Ohio's average doe's boned meat (45.05 lb) in one trip and an average buck's (62.51 lb) in two (haul matrix). A trailer rated 132 lb or more takes that buck whole, before any butchering.
| Carrier | Ohio doe, whole (92 lb) | Ohio buck, whole (130 lb) | Mule deer buck (190 lb) | Elk bull, boned (218 lb) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 55 lb rear rack | Boned: 1 trip | Boned: 2 trips | No | 4 trips |
| 100 lb trailer | One trip | Boned: 1 trip | No | 3 trips |
| 132 lb trailer | One trip | One trip | No | 2 trips |
| 200 lb trailer | One trip | One trip | One trip | 2 trips |
| 220 lb trailer | One trip | One trip | One trip | 1 trip |
A whole carcass goes in one trip or not at all; boned meat splits into trips of the carrier's rating.
A trailer is not worth it on a bike that cannot move it up your hill. Check the power table against your steepest road first.
Carry it on the bike instead: racks and cargo bikes
For boned meat and gear, a rated rear rack or a cargo bike's rear deck does the job without a trailer. The racks we sell that print a rating, Eahora's and VTUVIA's, carry 55 lb; Eunorau's and Tesway's rack sets name the models they fit. Each fits specific bikes, so shop them by model in Eahora accessories, VTUVIA accessories, Eunorau accessories and Tesway accessories.
For a bike that carries the whole load on its own frame, our hunting e-bike guide sorts the hauling bikes by rated load.
What an e-bike trailer can't do
A trailer adds carrying capacity and nothing else: it brings no extra power, no brakes of its own and no new ground to ride. Plan around five limits.
- Take a whole elk. A bull elk dresses at 437 lb, twice the top rating in the census.
- Brake for itself. None of the 15 lists a brake, so the bike stops the whole load.
- Climb for free. With an average buck, 750 W at the wheel holds 8 mph up 9.0%, against 15.1% alone.
- Fit every bike. Only Tesway and Eunorau print fit lists for the trailers we sell; everywhere else, check the axle first.
- Go off the map. On a national forest, the trailer goes only where your e-bike may.
Frequently asked questions
Can an e-bike pull a deer?
Yes, when the trailer is rated above the deer and the bike can move the load up your steepest grade. Ohio's average buck weighs 129.69 lb field dressed (Ohio DNR), and the e-bike trailers we read are rated from 70 lb to 220 lb (census file), so choose one rated above your heaviest deer.
Will an ebike pull a deer uphill?
It depends on the grade and the power. Our computation has 750 W at the wheel holding 8 mph up 9.0% with an average buck in a trailer, against 15.1% with no trailer, for a 200 lb rider on a dirt road (towing file).
What is the best cart for ebikes?
For most bikes, the VTUVIA Cargo Bike Trailer at $259, rated 132 lb. For a Tesway, the Tesway Cargo Trailer at $299, rated 220 lb. For a Eunorau on narrow trails, the Eunorau one-wheel trailer at $329, rated 100 lb (census file).
What is the best deer hauling cart?
The one rated above your deer that fits your bike's axle. Five of the 14 rated products we read carry 220 lb, and three of those five were in stock on September 28, 2026, the Tesway Cargo Trailer among them (census file).
What is the maximum weight limit for e-bike trailers?
The 14 printed ratings we read run from 70 lb to 220 lb, with a median of 150 lb (census file). The rating is the maker's, so load to the figure printed on your own trailer's listing.
Can you tow a trailer with an e-bike?
Yes, with a hitch that fits your bike. Makers list hitches for 3/8 in, 10 mm and 12 mm axles, motor-axle adapters for hub motors and replacement thru axles; check your bike against the trailer's own fit list first (QuietKat; Bakcou; Eunorau).
How much weight can an e-bike pull?
As much as the trailer's rating allows and the motor can move up your hill. With an average buck in tow, power at the wheel rises 45 to 56% and range falls 31 to 36% in our computation for a 200 lb rider at 8 mph on dirt (towing file).
How do you legally tow a trailer with an electric bike?
On a national forest, only where the Motor Vehicle Use Map opens the route to motor vehicles, plus any game-retrieval strip the map allows for e-bikes (36 CFR § 261.13). On state land, the state agency's rule governs; check your state's row before you ride.
How do I safely secure a deer to a trailer?
Strap it down under the trailer's cover or liner, keep the load inside the rating, and keep the carcass clean. Brake early: a buck in tow can lengthen your stopping distance up to 1.57 times in our computation (towing file).
Are bike trailers worth it?
For whole deer, yes. A 55 lb rack carries an average buck's boned meat in two trips; a trailer rated 132 lb or more takes that buck whole in one (haul matrix).
Which hitch do I need for an e-bike trailer?
The one your trailer's maker lists for your bike. Eunorau lists a quick-release skewer, a thru-axle adapter or a motor-axle adapter by model; Tesway's trailer fits Tesway bikes only; VTUVIA prints no list, so send us your bike and we check it (Eunorau's adapter list).
The bottom line
Buy the trailer that fits your bike's axle and carries your heaviest deer. On one of the six Tesway bikes Tesway lists, the Tesway Cargo Trailer takes a 220 lb load. On most other bikes, the VTUVIA Cargo Bike Trailer takes an average buck at 132 lb for $259. On a Eunorau on narrow trails, the Eunorau one-wheel trailer takes a doe or a buck's boned meat, with a hitch part for your model.

If it arrives damaged, send us photos within 48 hours and we file the claim with the carrier. Not sure it fits? Tell us your bike first, and order when it is confirmed.
Most bikes: the VTUVIA Cargo Bike Trailer, rated 132 lb, $259, shipped free in the lower 48.
Order the VTUVIA trailerBefore you tow: weigh your heaviest deer against the trailer's rating, match the hitch to your axle, check your steepest road against the power table, and read your forest's Motor Vehicle Use Map.

Limitations
- Ratings are the makers'. Every rated load is the maker's own figure, read on September 28, 2026. Where a maker prints a range, the tables compare its lower end.
- Two ratings are converted. Eunorau's ebike hunting trailer is rated 100 kg; its 220 lb is our conversion (1 kg = 2.20462 lb). Eunorau's two-wheel hunting trailer prints both 200 lb and 100 kg on one line, and the page uses the lower, 200 lb.
- Freesky's pre-order trailer prints no rating on its listing or its four photographs as read on September 28, 2026, so it has none in the tables.
- Deer weights are averages. Ohio's are the means of 115 deer from one gun season (2017); your deer may run heavier or lighter.
- The towing figures are computed. They assume a 200 lb rider, an 80 lb bike and a 30 lb trailer (round figures inside the published ranges), 8 mph, packed dirt with a rolling-resistance coefficient of 0.015, and 80% battery-to-wheel efficiency. The trailer's own drag is left out, so power and energy are floors; its tongue load is left out, so the stopping ratios are ceilings.
- The census is a snapshot. It covers every trailer and game cart Google showed for these searches on September 23, 2026 and every trailer sold by a brand we carry; stock and prices were read on September 28, 2026.
- The land rules are federal only here. State wildlife land, BLM, parks and refuges have their own rules, on the pages linked above.
This guide expires on March 28, 2027, and sooner if a maker changes a rating or a final Forest Service travel rule takes effect; we re-check every rating and price at each review.
