Samebike RS-A08 II Fat Tire Mountain Electric Bike

The RS-A08 II in Black: a fork up front and a shock under the top tube, a round headlight, a seven-speed derailleur, and Kenda 26 × 4.0 tires on spoked wheels.
Full suspension on 26-inch fat tires: a 1000 W hub that peaks at 1500 W, hydraulic discs on 180 mm rotors and a removable 816 Wh pack, for $1,399.
The Samebike RS-A08 II is a $1,399 full-suspension mountain e-bike on 26 × 4.0 Kenda tires, with a 1000 W rear hub (1500 W peak), a removable 816 Wh battery and hydraulic disc brakes on 180 mm rotors. On level pavement at a steady 15 mph on the throttle, our review computes about 48 miles for a 180 lb rider.

Why the RS-A08 II

A 100 mm fork and a rear shock
The specification table lists an "Adjustable front fork & rear suspension", and Samebike's suspension panel calls the fork 100mm. The shock works through a rocker link below the top tube, and Samebike says the fat tires "perform more smooth riding".

1000 W rated, 1500 W at peak
The rear hub is rated at 1000 W and peaks at 1500 W, and Samebike's motor panel credits its "80+Nm torque" with letting you "cruise almost effortlessly in assist mode". Seven Shimano gears and five assist levels decide how much of each climb is yours.

About 74 miles at 15 mph, pedaling lightly
Forty-eight volts at 17 Ah stores 816 watt-hours in a pack that locks into the down tube. Add about 75 W of easy pedaling at 15 mph and our review's model carries a 180 lb rider about 74 miles on level pavement; turn the key and the pack lifts out for charging indoors.

Throttle, five levels and a color display
The thumb throttle moves the bike with no pedaling, and the color LCD shows your speed, trip and total distance, the battery and the assist level. Hold the minus key for two seconds and push assist walks the bike beside you at under 6 km/h.

Black or Gray, both $1,399
Both colors share one frame, one parts list and one price, so the finish is the only thing to choose. Gray is pictured here; the Black one heads this page.
What stands out on the spec sheet
- Hydraulic disc brakes on 180 mm rotors at both wheels, with a motor cut-off Samebike says it "added for added safety".
- "Super bright LED headlights, taillight and reflective strip" in Samebike's words, plus an electric horn and a 5 V 1 A USB port, all fitted as standard.
- Kenda Krusade tires in 26 × 4.0, which Samebike describes as "Puncture-resistant".
- An IP54 rating for the whole bike in the manual, and a pack you can charge on the bike or off it.

Who the RS-A08 II fits
Samebike recommends the RS-A08 II for riders from 5'3" to 6'3". On the seat post Samebike draws, the saddle reaches the fit formula's height for 61 of every 100 riders at 5'6", 85 at 5'8" and 70 at 5'10"; at Samebike's listed seat heights the same riders score 97, 94 and 70, and 96 of 100 riders at 5'7" clear the top tube barefoot.
It’s your bike if
- You want a fork, a rear shock and hydraulic discs on 26 × 4.0 tires, in a frame that does not fold
- Your rides leave the pavement for gravel, sand or snow, the ground Samebike's gallery shows these tires on
- You stand about 5'8" to 5'10", where both readings of the seat post suit 70 to 94 of every 100 riders and 99 or more clear the top tube
- You want the throttle and pedal assist on one bike, with 816 Wh you can charge on the bike or indoors
Want something different? We stock it
- If you are under about 5'6" and want both feet flat at a stop, the RS-A02 Plus has the same 816 Wh and hydraulic discs for $1,199, and its frame's lowest top edge is 26.7 inches up, low enough for 95 of every 100 riders at 5'0" to straddle barefoot.
- If you stand 6'0" or taller, the RS-A02 Pro has a drawn seat post that reaches the formula saddle height for 85 of every 100 riders at 6'0", on 20 × 4.0 tires with a 720 Wh pack, for $999.
- If you want the biggest pack on 26 × 4.0 tires, the CREST carries 48 V 20 Ah (960 Wh) and hydraulic disc brakes on the same tire size for $1,599.
Our RS-A08 II review measures every height from 5'0" to 6'4" against Samebike's drawing of this frame: both readings of the seat post, the top tube at a stop, the lean to the grips and the weight on your hands.

Owning it in your state
Samebike's US page gives the RS-A08 II no e-bike class, which leaves your state's definition to decide where you may ride it.
Those definitions test figures Samebike publishes for this bike: 1000 W rated with a 1500 W peak, 45 km/h (28.0 mph) on the specification table, and a thumb throttle that drives it without pedaling. As of September 28, 2026, no CPSC recall names Samebike.
The rules for where you ride are in our state-by-state e-bike law guide.

Every figure is Samebike’s own, from each model’s US specification table as read on October 2, 2026; prices are ours, matched to Samebike’s the same day. Every column heading links to that bike.

Samebike’s figures, from its US product page and specification table (us.samebike.com/products/samebike-rsa08-off-road-electric-bike) and its owner’s manual, read September 28, 2026. Metric-to-US conversions are ours.
What we counted. Of the three Samebike bikes we sell on 26 × 4.0 tires, the RS-A08 II is the only one whose specification table lists a rear suspension, and at 36 kg it is the lightest of the six that do not fold.
Counted across the eleven Samebike models we sell on October 2, 2026, each read from its own US specification table.
Where Samebike prints two figures
Some RS-A08 II figures appear one way on Samebike's product page and another in its manual, FAQ or gallery. Each pair is here, with the figure the table above uses.
- Weight: 36 kg (79.4 lb) on the specification table, 79.3 lb on the size-and-fit drawing, "about 77lb" in the FAQ, 74.9 lb on the gallery's size chart and 73.8 lb (33.5 kg) in the manual. The table above uses 36 kg.
- Load: 150 kg (330 lb) on the drawing, the gallery's size chart, the manual and the page's stat strip; "Payload 180kg" on the specification table. Plan on 150 kg.
- Motor: 1000 W rated and 1500 W peak on the specification table, the product title and the motor panel; one FAQ answer on the same page reads "a powerful 750W motor". The table above uses 1000 W.
- Top speed: 45 km/h on the specification table and the motor panel, 25 km/h on the manual's specification page. The table above prints both.
- Climb: "Climb slope 40°" on the specification table, "Max Angle of Climb 25 degrees" in the manual.
- Charge time: 4–6 hours on the specification table, 4–8 hours in the manual.
- Range: 130 km at pedal-assist level 1 and 65 km on pure electric on the product page; "up to 60km on pure electric mode and a whopping 74miles with pedal assist" in the FAQ; the manual's two bands as printed above. The table above prints the product page's and the manual's figures.
- Size and wheelbase: 2.05 × 0.67 × 1.16 m on the specification table and 1990 × 670 × 1150 mm in the manual; a 50.4-inch wheelbase on the size-and-fit list and 1260 mm on the gallery's size chart.
- Rider height: 5'3" to 6'3" on the size-and-fit drawing; the gallery's size chart marks 170 and 192 cm, about 5'7" and 6'4".
- Fork: Samebike's suspension panel describes "an effective 100mm double-crown front fork", and its feature photographs show fork legs rising beside the head tube; its studio photographs, the ones on this page among them, show a crown below the head tube. Ask us and we confirm which fork your bike carries before it ships.
- Rear shock: "a 1000-pound hydraulic rear suspension" on the suspension panel and "The rear air suspension is enhanced" on the rear-suspension panel; Samebike's photographs show a black HLT-100 shock. The table above says rear shock.
- Water: IP54 in the manual; the FAQ calls the bike "built for all weather conditions, including rainy days".
- Warranty: the warranty policy lists 3 years on the frame and 1 year on batteries, motors and other accessories; the product page's policy block reads "12 Months Warranty". The warranty section below quotes the policy page.
- Model name: RS-A08-II on the product page and in the manual's file name; the manual's English section names the model RS-A08.
Straight answers before you order
The top tube's lowest edge sits 30.7 inches off the ground on Samebike's drawing: 96 of every 100 riders at 5'7" clear it barefoot, and 43 at 5'4".
Send us your inseam and we will check it against the drawing before you order. Under about 5'6", the RS-A02 Plus gives you the same 816 Wh and hydraulic discs on a frame that dips to 26.7 inches. See the RS-A02 Plus. Read the standover table.
At 6'0", the seat post reaches the standard saddle height for 23 of every 100 riders on either reading, and at 6'2" for 3.
Email us your inseam and we will ask Samebike in writing for the post's top setting before you buy. From 6'0" up, the RS-A02 Pro's drawn post reaches that height for 85 of every 100 riders. See the RS-A02 Pro. Read the saddle tables.
Samebike's headline 130 km (81 miles) comes from pedal-assist level 1, the lowest of its five power levels.
Plan with steady-speed figures instead: about 48 miles on the throttle at 15 mph and 74 pedaling lightly, for a 180 lb rider on level pavement, with a quarter of the pack kept in reserve. For a bigger pack on 26 × 4.0 tires, the CREST carries 960 Wh. See the CREST. See the range tables.
The frame does not fold, and the bike is about 80 inches long and 45.6 inches tall.
Measure the doorway, stairwell or rack before it ships, since it stores and travels full length. If it has to fit a car trunk or a closet, the RS-A02 Plus folds to 37.8 × 29.1 × 39.8 inches around the same 816 Wh pack. See how the RS-A02 Plus folds.
It weighs 36 kg (79.4 lb) on the specification table, and its carton 38 kg (83.7 lb).
Plan two people at the curb, lift the battery out before any carry, and roll the bike wherever you can. At 30.5 kg (67.2 lb), the LO26 Plus is the lightest Samebike on our shelf. See the LO26 Plus.
Manuals and assembly
The RS-A08-II manual's assembly section runs in four steps: turn the stem and fix the handlebar with its four screws, fit the front wheel with its disc in the caliper and lock the quick-release, set the seat post at your height with its quick-release lever, then fit the headlight and the fenders the manual shows. The box holds the charger, two large wrenches, four Allen wrenches and a screwdriver. Hit a snag on one of them? Tell us which step, and we will guide you through it by email.
Warranty cover, and who files the claim
A fault is our job
If the bike will not power on, will not charge, shows an error code or has a faulty component, send photos or video and your order number. We open the claim with Samebike and coordinate the repair or replacement remotely, start to finish.
What Samebike publishes
Samebike’s warranty policy states: “Frame warranty for 3 years, batteries, motors and other accessories warranty for 1 year.” After the first year, a battery earns “a prorated credit, based on months of service,” toward a new one.
Samebike’s terms, from its Samebike Warranty Policy (us.samebike.com/pages/warranty-policy), read September 26, 2026.
Wear items
Samebike’s policy lists brake pads, rotors, spokes, tires and tubes, chains, chain rings, cassettes and the crankset among the parts not typically covered, as ordinary wear and tear.
Frequently asked questions
How far can the Samebike RS-A08 II go on one charge?
Our review's range model puts a 180 lb rider on level pavement at about 48 miles holding 15 mph on the throttle, and about 74 pedaling lightly at that speed. Samebike's product page gives up to 130 km (81 miles) at pedal-assist level 1, and its FAQ 74 miles with pedal assist.
What is the top speed of the Samebike RS-A08 II?
Samebike's specification table and stat strip give 45 km/h (28.0 mph), and the manual's specification page gives 25 km/h. If your state's rule turns on speed, ask us and we will get Samebike's figure for your bike in writing.
Is the RS-A08 II 1000 W or 750 W?
1000 W rated, peaking at 1500 W, on the US specification table, in the product title and on the motor panel. The 750 W figure comes from one answer in the same page's FAQ, and from Samebike's Guangzhou site, which lists the earlier RS-A08 with a "750W Bafang Motor".
What's the difference between the RS-A08 and the RS-A08 II?
The RS-A08-II is the model Samebike's US store sells and the one we stock, at $1,399. Samebike's Guangzhou site describes the earlier RS-A08 with a "750W Bafang Motor with 1000W peak power".
Is the RS-A08 II street legal, and what class is it?
Samebike gives it no class, so your state's definition decides where you ride it. The inputs that definition looks at are the 1000 W rating and 1500 W peak, the 45 km/h (28.0 mph) on Samebike's specification table, and the thumb throttle.
How much does the Samebike RS-A08 II weigh?
36 kg (79.4 lb) on the specification table, the figure we plan on; Samebike's other documents print 73.8 to 79.3 lb, and the carton weighs 38 kg (83.7 lb).
What is the RS-A08 II's weight limit?
Plan on 150 kg (330 lb), the figure on the drawing, the size chart, the manual and the stat strip; the specification table's Payload row reads 180 kg. Near that line with you and your cargo? Email us for Samebike's answer before you buy.
Can you replace the RS-A08 II battery?
Yes. Turn the key clockwise and the pack lifts upward out of the frame. Battery cover under Samebike's warranty policy runs 1 year, after which it offers a prorated credit toward a new pack; when yours is due, send us the order number and we source the same 48 V 17 Ah battery.
How long does the RS-A08 II take to charge?
Samebike's specification table says 4 to 6 hours and its manual 4 to 8; by simple division the 54.6 V 3 A charger fills 17 Ah in about 5.7 hours. The charger's light is red while charging and green when the pack is full.
What does a full charge of the RS-A08 II cost?
About 15 cents at the US average residential price for July 2026, 18.31 cents per kilowatt-hour from the U.S. Energy Information Administration, before the charger's own losses. At 15 mph on the throttle that works out to about a third of a cent a mile.
What rider height fits the RS-A08 II?
Samebike's drawing recommends 5'3" to 6'3". Our review's fit model finds the drawn seat post reaching the formula saddle height for 85 of every 100 riders at 5'8" and for 23 at 6'0", and at 5'4" 43 of 100 clear the top tube barefoot.
Does the Samebike RS-A08 II have a throttle?
Yes, a thumb throttle at the right grip that moves the bike with no pedaling, alongside five pedal-assist levels. Samebike's FAQ lists three modes: full electric power, pedal assist, and manual riding with no motor help.
Is the RS-A08 II good for off-road riding?
It is built for it: Samebike titles it an off-road bike and fits a 100 mm fork, a rear shock and 26 × 4.0 Kenda tires, promising "a smooth riding experience like a flat road on rugged terrain or mountain roads". Each trail's posted rules decide whether a throttle bike may use it.
Can I pay for the RS-A08 II in installments?
Shop Pay's sample plans on September 28, 2026 were $126.27 a month for 12 months at 15% APR, $1,515.24 in total, and $478.04 a month for 3 months at 15% APR, $1,434.12 in total; approval depends on an eligibility check.
Rates from 0-36% APR. Payment options through Shop Pay Installments are subject to an eligibility check and are provided by these lending partners: affirm.com/lenders. Options depend on your purchase amount, and a down payment may be required. State notices to consumers: affirm.com/licenses.
