What you get with the Reindeer 2.0

400 lb, on a frame you step through
VTUVIA rates total capacity at 400 lb — 70 lb more than either folding model. The step-through frame means getting that capacity does not cost you a high top tube to swing a leg over, which is the trade most heavy-duty fat bikes ask you to make.

Sized for taller riders
5'5" to 6'5" in VTUVIA's sizing, the tallest window in the range alongside the SN100 and Gemini. Riders who find a commuter frame cramped at 6'2" have four more inches here.

Torque sensing on a fat bike
A torque sensor rather than a cadence sensor, feeding a 750 W hub rated to 1,200 W peak and 85 N·m. On 4-inch tires that matters more than on asphalt: assist that scales with effort keeps the bike settled on loose ground instead of spinning the rear wheel.

Both UL certifications published
UL 2271 on the battery and UL 2849 on the e-bike system, in VTUVIA's own specification, with dual LOGAN hydraulic discs on 180 mm rotors.
Why buy the Reindeer 2.0 from Redtail
$1,599, against VTUVIA's own $1,699
VTUVIA lists the Reindeer 2.0 at $1,699. It is $1,599 here, a $100 difference, and the price was read from VTUVIA on September 19, 2026.

Warranty and damage claims
VTUVIA writes its warranty for bikes bought from its own website and sends a retailer purchase back to the retailer for after-sales service — that retailer is us. Power, charging and component faults are covered under the manufacturer warranty where it applies, and our US support desk coordinates the repair or replacement remotely, so you are not the one writing to a factory.
If it arrives damaged, note it with the carrier and send us photos within 48 hours: we file the claim with the carrier and arrange a replacement or repair.
US support, before and after

Who the Reindeer 2.0 step-through fat tire ebike is for
Get the Reindeer 2.0 if you want fat-tire capability with a low step-over, you are nearer 6'5" than 5'5", or you need the 400 lb capacity that the lighter commuters do not offer.
Two things to check before you order
- Your height. 5'5" to 6'5". Below 5'5", VTUVIA's SX20 starts at 5'0" and keeps the fat tires.
- Where you park it. 26 × 4.0-inch tires and a rigid frame — this one does not fold, so it needs a bike-shaped space. The SF20H folds if that is the constraint.

How the Reindeer 2.0 compares with what else we sell
Against the fat-tire bikes we stock, the Reindeer 2.0's edge is the combination of 400 lb, a torque sensor and both UL certifications at $1,599. The Himiway D5 Zebra is $100 less, the Eunorau Defender is the same price with full suspension and a mid-drive, and VTUVIA's own SN100 matches the running gear in camo on a step-over frame.

Riding the Reindeer 2.0 legally
Federal law defines a low-speed electric bicycle at 15 U.S.C. § 2085(b): a "low-speed electric bicycle" is a two- or three-wheeled vehicle with fully operable pedals, a motor of less than 750 watts, and a maximum motor-powered speed on a paved level surface of less than 20 miles per hour when ridden by an operator weighing 170 pounds.
The Reindeer 2.0's published figures are 750 W and a Class 2, 20 mph cap.
On its own page VTUVIA writes: “It is UL2849 certified for safety, and due to UL certification requirements, the default maximum speed is set to 20 MPH, which can be adjusted according to user preferences.” “The Reindeer 2.0 can reach speeds of up to 28 mph with pedal assist or throttle.”
As shipped it is a 20 mph bike. Ridden faster than 20 mph on motor power alone it is outside the federal low-speed definition and outside Class 2 in the states that use the class system, so check your state's line before you change that setting.
States then set their own rules on top of that, and most use a three-class system that decides where you can ride, whether a helmet is required and whether there is a minimum age. Our state-by-state guide sets out what each one says.
Frequently asked questions
What is the top speed of the Reindeer 2.0?
VTUVIA prints two figures for the Reindeer 2.0. Its UL note says the “default maximum speed is set to 20 MPH, which can be adjusted according to user preferences”, and the FAQ on the same page says “The Reindeer 2.0 can reach speeds of up to 28 mph with pedal assist or throttle.” It ships as a 20 mph, Class 2 bike; above 20 mph on motor power it is outside the federal low-speed definition.
Is the Reindeer 2.0 suitable for tall riders?
5'5" to 6'5" in VTUVIA's sizing, which is the top of its range.
How far can the Reindeer 2.0 go on one charge?
Up to 70 miles on pedal assist, 40 on the throttle, from a 48 V 14 Ah LG pack — 672 Wh.
What is the maximum payload for the Reindeer 2.0?
400 lb total, rider and cargo together, in VTUVIA's rating.
Does the Reindeer 2.0 have a torque sensor or a cadence sensor?
A torque sensor, so assist scales with how hard you pedal rather than switching on at a set level.
What makes the Reindeer 2.0 a hunting electric bike?
It shares its 750 W hub, 85 N·m, 672 Wh pack and 400 lb rating with the SN100, which is the one VTUVIA builds for it — same running gear, camo finish, step-over frame.
Can the Reindeer 2.0 handle rough terrain and snow?
26 × 4.0-inch tires on an EXSHO suspension fork, with hydraulic discs. That is the specification for loose surfaces; VTUVIA lists its ideal use as All Terrain.
Does the Reindeer 2.0 have a step-through frame?
Yes — a step-through frame, which is unusual at this capacity.
Does the Reindeer 2.0 have UL 2849 certification?
Yes. VTUVIA publishes UL 2271 for the battery and UL 2849 for the complete e-bike system.
Do I need a license to ride the Reindeer 2.0?
VTUVIA rates it 750 W and Class 2. The 20 mph cap is inside the federal speed limb; the 750 W rating sits at its motor limb rather than under it.
