Two batteries, 1,092 Wh, and a 90-mile rating — the longest VTUVIA publishes.

What you get with the Gemini

Two batteries, described by VTUVIA as one system
VTUVIA's own page puts it plainly: “Two batteries. One unified system. More range, less worry for your longest adventures.” The specification gives the combined figure as 52 V 21 Ah — 1,092 Wh, which is 62% more energy than the 672 Wh packs across most of the range.

100 N·m, the most torque from any VTUVIA hub motor
A 52 V, 1,000 W rear hub rated to a 1,500 W peak, on a 52 V 28 A controller. Every other hub in the range makes 85 N·m or less; only the mid-drive CMB, which gears its torque through the cassette, publishes a higher number. That is the torque you have when a loaded climb turns steep.

90 miles on assist, 60 on the throttle alone
VTUVIA's rating, and the only 90 in the range. The throttle-only figure of 60 miles is higher than most of these bikes manage on pedal assist. If you ride on the throttle more than you pedal, that is the number that matters to you.

A torque sensor and 400 lb of capacity
Torque sensing rather than cadence, 26 × 4.0-inch tires on an EXSHO fork, dual LOGAN hydraulic discs, and a 400 lb total rating. At 98 lb it is the heaviest bike VTUVIA builds — the second battery is most of the difference. If you lift it onto a car rack, plan for that weight.
VTUVIA lists fenders, a rear rack and a suspension seatpost in the Gemini's box, a $307 set by its own count on September 19, 2026, and our order ships with the same contents.
Why buy the Gemini from Redtail

VTUVIA lists the Gemini at $2,199. It is $1,899 here, a $300 difference, and the price was read from VTUVIA on September 19, 2026.

Warranty and damage claims
VTUVIA writes its warranty for bikes bought from its own website and sends a retailer purchase back to the retailer for after-sales service — that retailer is us. Power, charging and component faults are covered under the manufacturer warranty where it applies, and our US support desk coordinates the repair or replacement remotely, so you are not the one writing to a factory.
If it arrives damaged, note it with the carrier and send us photos within 48 hours: we file the claim with the carrier and arrange a replacement or repair.

Who the Gemini dual battery ebike is for
Get the Gemini if range is the thing that decides it — day trips, back roads and all-day riding where the nearest outlet is a long way from where you turn around.
Two things to check before you order
- Your height. 5'8" to 6'5" in VTUVIA's sizing, with a 30–36 inch inseam.
- Handling 98 lb. This is the heaviest machine in the range. On the road that weight is carried by the motor; off it, moving the bike by hand is a genuine two-person job on stairs. The 62 lb Zeal LT7 is the other end of that scale.

How the Gemini compares with what else we sell
Nothing else in VTUVIA's range comes close on energy: 1,092 Wh against 672 Wh almost everywhere else, and 90 miles against 70. On our wider shelf the Eahora Juliet is $400 less with a 120-mile claim on a single pack, and the Zeal XT8 is $100 less and 33 lb lighter if 80 miles is enough.

Riding the Gemini legally
Federal law defines a low-speed electric bicycle at 15 U.S.C. § 2085(b): a "low-speed electric bicycle" is a two- or three-wheeled vehicle with fully operable pedals, a motor of less than 750 watts, and a maximum motor-powered speed on a paved level surface of less than 20 miles per hour when ridden by an operator weighing 170 pounds.
The Gemini's published figures are a 1,000 W rated motor and a Class 2, 20 mph cap. The speed is inside the federal definition; the rated wattage is above its 750 W limb.
On its own page VTUVIA writes: “The VTUVIA Gemini comes with a factory-limited top speed of 20 mph for safety, but it can reach up to 32 mph under full power.”
As shipped it is a 20 mph bike. Ridden faster than 20 mph on motor power alone it is outside the federal low-speed definition and outside Class 2 in the states that use the class system, so check your state's line before you change that setting.
States then set their own rules on top of that, and most use a three-class system that decides where you can ride, whether a helmet is required and whether there is a minimum age. Our state-by-state guide sets out what each one says.
Frequently asked questions
Does the Gemini really have two batteries?
Yes. VTUVIA describes it as “Two batteries. One unified system” and gives the combined capacity as 52 V 21 Ah — 1,092 Wh of LG cells.
How far can the Gemini go on one charge?
VTUVIA rates it to 90 miles on pedal assist and 60 on the throttle alone, the longest figures it publishes for any of these bikes.
What is the top speed of the Gemini?
VTUVIA's own answer: “The VTUVIA Gemini comes with a factory-limited top speed of 20 mph for safety, but it can reach up to 32 mph under full power.” As shipped it is a 20 mph, Class 2 bike in VTUVIA's rating. Unlocked past 20 mph on motor power it is outside the federal low-speed definition and outside Class 2 where your state uses the class system, so check your state's line before you touch that setting.
Does the Gemini have a torque sensor or a cadence sensor?
A torque sensor, so assist rises with pedal effort rather than switching on at a set level.
Can the Gemini handle steep hills?
100 N·m from a 1,000 W hub rated to a 1,500 W peak — the most torque of any VTUVIA hub motor.
Is the Gemini suitable for off-road riding?
26 × 4.0-inch tires, an EXSHO suspension fork and dual LOGAN hydraulic discs, on the torque sensor that keeps a heavy bike hooked up on loose ground.
What is the maximum payload for the Gemini?
400 lb total, rider and cargo together.
What is the weight limit of the Gemini?
98 lb with rack and fenders — the heaviest VTUVIA builds, and the second battery accounts for most of the gap to the 87 lb SN100.
How long does the Gemini take to charge?
About 7 hours, from a charger VTUVIA states operates on 100–240 V AC.
Is the Gemini any good as a commuter bike?
It will, though it is built for distance rather than for carrying up a step. For a daily commute the Zeal LT7 is 36 lb lighter and $600 less.
Do I need a license to ride the Gemini?
1,000 W with a Class 2, 20 mph cap in VTUVIA's rating. The rated wattage sits above the federal definition's 750 W limb, so read the class and the wattage as two separate facts.
