What you get with the Zeal LT7

62 lb, and that is the headline
It is 62 lb with its rack and fenders — 36 lb under the Gemini and 8 lb under the SX20. On a bike you walk up a step, park in a hallway or lift onto a rack, weight is the spec you live with every single day, and this is the one that asks least of you.

V-Adapt torque sensing at the bottom of the range
VTUVIA fits its V-Adapt torque sensor here, not just on the expensive models. Assist scales with how hard you push rather than switching on at a fixed level, which is what makes a commuter feel like a bicycle instead of a scooter.

350 lb of capacity on a 500 W bike
VTUVIA rates total capacity at 350 lb — more than the 330 lb of either folder and more than the 300 lb CMB, on a 62 lb frame. Dual Logan hydraulic discs do the stopping.

City tires, not fat tires
27.5 × 2.6 inches rolls faster on asphalt than a 4-inch fat tire and takes less effort to hold at speed, on an EXSHO suspension fork that takes the edge off broken surfaces.
In the box with the Zeal LT7, per VTUVIA's listing read September 19, 2026: fenders, a rear rack, a rear basket and a phone holder, which VTUVIA values at $283.99. An order from us ships the same way.

Who the Zeal LT7 step-through commuter ebike is for
Get the Zeal LT7 if the ride is paved road, the distance is a commute rather than an expedition, and you would rather have a smooth torque sensor than a bigger motor you will not use.
Two things to check before you order
- Your height. VTUVIA sizes the Zeal LT7 from 5'3" to 6'2".
- Your route. 2.6-inch tires are a city tire. If the commute includes sand, deep gravel or snow, the 4-inch Reindeer 2.0 is the one that suits it.

Riding the Zeal LT7 legally
Federal law defines a low-speed electric bicycle at 15 U.S.C. § 2085(b): a "low-speed electric bicycle" is a two- or three-wheeled vehicle with fully operable pedals, a motor of less than 750 watts, and a maximum motor-powered speed on a paved level surface of less than 20 miles per hour when ridden by an operator weighing 170 pounds.
The Zeal LT7's published figures are 500 W and a Class 2, 20 mph cap — under both federal limbs.
States then set their own rules on top of that, and most use a three-class system that decides where you can ride, whether a helmet is required and whether there is a minimum age. Our state-by-state guide sets out what each one says.
Frequently asked questions
Is the Zeal LT7 any good as a commuter bike?
27.5 × 2.6-inch tires, 62 lb, a torque sensor and hydraulic discs: it is built for paved-road distance rather than trail. VTUVIA's own listed use is City Commuter.
How far can the Zeal LT7 go on one charge?
Up to 70 miles on pedal assist and 38 on the throttle, in VTUVIA's rating, from a 48 V 13 Ah pack — 624 Wh.
Does the Zeal LT7 have pedal assist?
Three modes across five levels, fed by VTUVIA's V-Adapt torque sensor, so assist rises with pedal effort rather than arriving in fixed steps.
Is the Zeal LT7 a good electric bike for heavy riders?
VTUVIA rates total capacity at 350 lb — rider and cargo together, and the highest figure on any VTUVIA two-wheeler except the 400 lb Reindeer 2.0, SN100 and Gemini.
Can the Zeal LT7 handle steep hills?
65 N·m from a 500 W hub rated to a 750 W peak. For steep daily gradients the Zeal XT8 makes 85 N·m and the CMB 8-Speed 175 N·m.
Is the Zeal LT7 suitable for seniors?
The frame is a step-through and, at 62 lb, not a heavy bike to handle off the bike. Brakes are hydraulic, so stopping takes little hand force.
What is the top speed of the Zeal LT7?
Class 2 in VTUVIA's rating: assistance up to 20 mph.
How long does the Zeal LT7 take to charge?
About 7 hours from the 48 V 20 A system's charger.
Do I need a license to ride the Zeal LT7?
No. VTUVIA rates the Zeal LT7 at 500 W and Class 2, which sits under both limbs of the federal low-speed electric bicycle definition, and no state licenses a bike at those figures.
