Who the Raptor ST202 Pro fits

The Raptor ST202 Pro suits a rider who carries weight or climbs: a motor in each wheel, 150 N·m of combined torque and a 2,600 Wh dual pack, rated to 350 lb of rider and cargo, with the same GPS tracker as the standard ST202.

It’s your bike if

  • Riders who want the biggest battery of the Smartravel bikes we carry (2,600 Wh) and a motor in each wheel
  • Riders who want GPS tracking built in rather than buying a separate tracker
  • Riders who can use the payload and range from a 2,600 Wh dual pack

Want something different? We stock it

  • If you want GPS tracking without the dual-motor price step-up — the Raptor ST202 is the single-motor version of this same GPS platform, from $1,249.99.
  • If you want the lowest price of the Smartravel fat-tire bikes we carry — the DK400 is $699.99, with front and rear shock absorbers on 20 x 4.0 inch fat tires.

Owning it in your state

Federal law defines a “low-speed electric bicycle” as a vehicle with a motor under 750 watts and a maximum motor-powered speed under 20 mph (15 U.S.C. § 2085(b)). The Raptor ST202 Pro is published at up to 3,000W peak combined power with a 35 mph top speed, well above that federal threshold, so state law — not the federal low-speed-bicycle carve-out — governs where and how you can ride it.

The detail for where you ride is in our state-by-state e-bike law guide.

How to read this spec sheet

Smartravel’s pages give more than one figure for some specs on this model; the list below gives both, and the one the table above uses.

  • Range: Smartravel's headline figures give 80 miles and its feature copy up to 100 miles with pedal assist; its FAQ gives 80–100 miles on a charge; its battery image gives up to 55 miles and a 70–92-mile maximum, and its riding-modes image 92 miles with pedal assist. The table prints the 80 to 100-mile figure.
  • Charge time: 5 hours in one of Smartravel's FAQ answers, 5–6 hours in another, and 6–7 hours in its battery image.
  • Torque: 150 N·m combined in Smartravel's product image; its spec list rates each hub motor at 86 N·m.
  • Warranty: Smartravel's warranty section states a 12-month warranty, and a help block on the same page mentions a 2-year warranty for each e-bike. 12 months is the term this page uses.

Straight answers before you order

The Raptor ST202 Pro is the most expensive of the six Smartravel bikes Redtail carries — $1,699.99, or $450 above the standard Raptor ST202.

What the $450 buys is the second hub motor — 2,400W combined continuous against a single motor — and roughly double the battery, 2,600 Wh against 1,296 Wh. If one motor covers your ride, the standard Raptor ST202 carries the same GPS tracking and app control at $1,249.99. See the standard Raptor ST202.

Smartravel lists the Raptor ST202 Pro at 123.7 lb (56.2 kg).

Two hub motors and a 2,600 Wh dual pack are most of that weight, so you roll it on its kickstand rather than lift it. If you need a bike you can lift onto a car rack, the ZOONLAI UrbanX is 58.37 lb. See the ZOONLAI UrbanX.

Manuals & assembly

Smartravel publishes an owner’s manual and an assembly video for its models on Smartravel's owner's-manual and assembly-video page. Email us and we will send you the current file for your bike directly, along with a plain answer on what is left to put together out of the box — worth asking before you order if that is what decides it.

Frequently asked questions

How is the Raptor ST202 Pro different from the standard Raptor ST202?

The Pro adds a second hub motor (2,400W combined continuous and 3,000W peak, against a single motor at 1,500W peak) and a larger dual battery pack (2,600 Wh against 1,296 Wh), at $1,699.99 against the standard model's $1,249.99.

Is the Raptor ST202 Pro UL certified?

Smartravel states on its product page that the Raptor ST202 Pro is safety certified in accordance with UL 2849. If you need the certificate details before you order, email us and we will get them from Smartravel in writing.

Should I buy the Raptor ST202 Pro or the standard Raptor ST202?

Take the Pro if you ride loaded, steep or loose. Smartravel fits it with a hub motor front and rear, so both wheels drive, and gives it the bigger 2,600 Wh pack. Take the standard Raptor ST202 if the tracker was the reason you came looking: both bikes carry the GPS tracker and the app, both run a Shimano 7-speed, and the standard model is $450 less. Neither choice costs you the tracking.

How far can the Raptor ST202 Pro go on one charge?

Smartravel states 80 to 100 miles of range from its 2,600 Wh dual battery, with an 80% capacity rating after 800 charge cycles and a 5–6 hour fast-charge time.

Is the Raptor ST202 Pro legal to ride on the street?

Smartravel publishes up to a 3,000W peak combined motor rating and a 35 mph top speed, well above the federal low-speed-bicycle threshold (motors under 750W, speeds under 20 mph, 15 U.S.C. § 2085(b)). State law governs where and how you can ride it — check the rules where you live before you order.
