Who the Raptor ST202 fits

The Raptor ST202 suits a rider who wants to know where the bike is: GPS positioning, geo-fence alerts and remote motor control come built in, on a fat-tire frame with a 1,296 Wh battery and hydraulic brakes, at $1,249.99.

It’s your bike if

  • Riders who want GPS tracking and app control on a fat-tire bike without buying a separate tracker
  • Riders who want an all-terrain bike with a published 32+ mph top speed
  • Riders who want geo-fencing alerts and remote motor control from their phone

Want something different? We stock it

  • If you want more range and a dual-motor layout instead of GPS tracking — the Raptor ST202 Pro is the dual-motor, dual-battery version of this same platform.
  • If you want a lower-priced fat-tire commuter without GPS — the DK400 is $699.99 with the same fat-tire core.

Owning it in your state

Federal law defines a “low-speed electric bicycle” as a vehicle with a motor under 750 watts and a maximum motor-powered speed under 20 mph (15 U.S.C. § 2085(b)). The Raptor ST202 is published at 1200W sustained and 1500W peak with a stated 32+ mph top speed, above that federal threshold, so state law — not the federal low-speed-bicycle carve-out — governs where and how you can ride it.

The detail for where you ride is in our state-by-state e-bike law guide.

How to read this spec sheet

Smartravel’s pages give more than one figure for some specs on this model; the list below gives both, and the one the table above uses.

  • Motor and battery: every figure on Smartravel's page for this bike gives 1500W peak (1200W sustained) and a 48V 27Ah (1,296 Wh) battery; the page's web address still reads 1200W and 48V 20Ah.
  • Range: Smartravel's feature copy gives up to 60 miles on the motor alone and over 80 miles with pedal assist; its FAQ gives 60–80 miles on a charge.
  • Charge time: 5 hours in one of Smartravel's FAQ answers, 5–6 hours in another.
  • Weight: Smartravel's spec list gives 113.9 lbs (51.6 kg); the listing's shipping details give 47 kg.
  • Warranty: Smartravel's warranty section states a 12-month warranty, and a help block on the same page mentions a 2-year warranty for each e-bike. 12 months is the term this page uses.

Straight answers before you order

Smartravel lists the Raptor ST202 at 113.9 lb (51.6 kg).

That weight is a 1,296 Wh pack, a hydraulic fork and rear shock, and 20 x 4.0 inch fat tires, so you roll it on its kickstand rather than lift it. If you need a bike you can lift onto a car rack, the ZOONLAI UrbanX is 58.37 lb. See the ZOONLAI UrbanX.

At $1,249.99 the Raptor ST202 costs $500 more than the Rocket ST201F's $749.99 base build.

The difference is the real-time GPS tracker and app control built into the ST202, on a 1,296 Wh pack. If tracking is not what you are paying for, the Rocket ST201F starts at $749.99. See the Rocket ST201F.

Manuals & assembly

Smartravel publishes an owner’s manual and an assembly video for its models on Smartravel's owner's-manual and assembly-video page. Email us and we will send you the current file for your bike directly, along with a plain answer on what is left to put together out of the box — worth asking before you order if that is what decides it.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Raptor ST202's real motor and battery size?

Smartravel gives the Raptor ST202 a rear geared hub motor rated 1500W peak and 1200W sustained, with 86 N·m of torque, and a 48V 27Ah battery (1,296 Wh). The page's web address still reads 1200W and 48V 20Ah; every figure on the page itself is 1500W and 27Ah.

How does the GPS tracking and app control work?

Smartravel's app shows the bike's position in real time and lets you set a geo-fence that alerts you if the bike leaves a preset area. From your phone you can control the motor remotely, set alarms for overspeed or movement, see battery level, speed, mileage and riding time, and review up to 7 days of ride history. For the app's name or any data-plan terms, email us and we will confirm them with Smartravel before you order.

How is the Raptor ST202 different from the Rocket ST201F?

The ST202 is the one with the tracker: Smartravel builds real-time GPS positioning and app control into it and credits the Rocket ST201F with neither. Power and pace are close: 1500W peak and 32+ mph here, up to 1500W peak and 32 mph on the Rocket's upgraded build. This one is $1,249.99; the Rocket ST201F starts at $749.99 for its 1200W build. If tracking is not what you are paying for, read the Rocket ST201F page.

Is the Raptor ST202 UL certified?

Smartravel states on its product page that the Raptor ST202 is safety certified in accordance with UL 2849. If you need the certificate details before you order, email us and we will get them from Smartravel in writing.

Is the Raptor ST202 legal to ride on the street?

Smartravel publishes a 32+ mph top speed and a motor rated 1200W sustained and 1500W peak, above the federal low-speed-bicycle threshold (motors under 750W, speeds under 20 mph, 15 U.S.C. § 2085(b)). State law governs where and how you can ride it — check the rules where you live before you order.
