Samebike CY20 Pro Folding Commuter Electric Bike, Spoked Wheel

Spot the difference: classic spokes, and a 48V pack hiding a third more energy than its cast-wheel twin carries for the same money.
The spoked-wheel Samebike CY20 Pro is the quiet value pick of the whole range: the same $599, same fold and same 500W (800W peak) motor as its solid-wheel twin, but on a 48V 13Ah battery — 624Wh against the solid version's 468Wh, a third more energy for identical money. Black or White, matched to Samebike's price, free lower-48 shipping.
- 624Wh48V battery — 33% more than its twin
- $599Same price as the 36V version
- 800WPeak motor power
- 20 mphTop speed
- 68 lbCurb weight
Who the CY20 Pro (Spoked Wheel) is for
Buy it if
- Value maximizers: 624Wh at $599 is the cheapest battery energy of any single-pack Samebike — across the whole range, only the $1,499 dual-battery M20-III carries more watt-hours per dollar
- Longer commutes at commuter speeds — Samebike claims up to 100 km (62 mi) at low assist, a real 10% bump over the solid-wheel version
- Riders who trust spoked wheels: easier pothole forgiveness, standard parts, any bike shop can true one
- Apartment and trunk storage — the same published 34.6 × 19.3 × 33.5 in fold and 68 lb weight as its twin
Look elsewhere if
- You wanted the cast-wheel look or the Navy colorway — both belong to the solid-wheel version; this one comes in Black or White
- Hills and cargo dominate your route: 800W peak is still commuter spec — step to the RS-A02 Pro before asking a 20-inch commuter to be a mule
- You ride singletrack — mechanical 160mm discs and 20×3.0 street-tread rubber are built for pavement and light gravel
- A UL-listed battery is a requirement; Samebike publishes no certification for this model

The same $599 buying more
Samebike prices both CY20 Pro wheels identically and gives this one the bigger battery: 48V 13Ah, 624Wh, against 36V 13Ah (468Wh) on the cast-wheel twin. We computed watt-hours per dollar across all ten current Samebikes: this bike leads every single-battery model, beaten only by the $1,499 dual-pack M20-III.

Spokes, on purpose
Spoked wheels flex enough to soften small impacts, weigh less at the rim, and can be trued or repaired by any bike shop with parts from anywhere. The cast-wheel version answers with zero spoke maintenance — a fair trade both ways, priced at zero either way.

Trunk math, unchanged
The published fold is 34.6 × 19.3 × 33.5 in at 68 lb — same as its twin, sized for sedan trunks and hallway corners. The frame hinge and folding stem drop it in under a minute once the latches are familiar.

Commuter equipment as standard
Front basket mounting, extended rear seat pad, reflective-striped 20×3.0 tires, front and rear LED lights, five assist levels through a Shimano 7-speed, and a thumb throttle for pull-aways. The 624Wh pack recharges in 4–6 hours.
The honest ledger
Green flags
- The best energy-per-dollar of any single-battery model in the range, computed from Samebike's own specs (1.04 Wh per dollar; only the dual-pack M20-III's 1.15 beats it, at $900 more)
- A 48V electrical system at the entry price — stronger under load than the 36V twin, with the same 20 mph ceiling
- Published fold dimensions and IP64-rated electronics — the two facts a commuter actually needs, both in print
- Twenty units of Black showing in Samebike's own inventory feed at our 2026-08-23 pull — the deepest stock figure displayed on any current Samebike product page
Red flags
- Samebike's marketing calls this battery '824Wh'; its own spec table says 48V 13Ah, which computes to 624Wh. We print 624Wh — still the best single-battery value in the range, no inflation required
- Torque is quoted as both '55+ N·m' (title banner) and '50+ N·m' (feature panel); we print the lower
- The 100 km (62 mi) headline is lowest-assist; the throttle-only claim is 50 km (31 mi) — plan around the smaller number
- No UL 2849 / UL 2271 certification published

How to read this spec sheet
Manufacturer spec pages contain marketing, and marketing sometimes disagrees with the spec table an inch below it. Rather than quietly pick numbers, here is every place Samebike's own page disagrees with itself for this model, and which figure we print:
- Battery energy: 48V × 13Ah = 624Wh. Samebike's marketing panel says '824Wh' — arithmetic that doesn't follow from its own spec table. We print the computed figure; even corrected, it's the best Wh-per-dollar of any single-battery model in the range (the dual-pack M20-III leads overall).
- Between Samebike's 2026-08-16 and 2026-08-23 catalogs this product's own URL changed from 'peak-1000w' to 'peak-800w' wording (both archived) — the maker revised its peak-power claim downward. Our page reflects the current 800W peak, and our stable URL means Samebike's next rename won't break your bookmark.
- Torque: '55+Nm' in the title banner vs '50+Nm' in the feature copy; we print 50+ N·m.
- Samebike's commuter boilerplate mentions USB phone charging; the spec table says USB Charger: No. We follow the spec table.
What we counted
We pulled Samebike US's entire live catalog on 2026-08-23 and counted what was actually buyable: 29 of 32 bike variants across 10 models. The three unbuyable variants are all one model's colorways (M20: Black, LightSteelBlue, DarkGreen); every other bike was buyable in every published colorway on the pull date. This listing mirrors that feed — we only sell configurations Samebike can actually supply, and we re-sync price and availability against their store rather than guessing.
Redtail original analysis, counted from Samebike US's public storefront feed on 2026-08-23 (one shipping-surcharge SKU excluded). Availability moves; email support@redtailebikes.com for a combination not shown here.

Frequently asked questions
Why would the bigger battery cost the same as the smaller one?
Ask Samebike — but the pricing is real and archived: both CY20 Pro versions list at $599 (from $899) on their US store, one with 468Wh and this one with 624Wh. Our job is to point at the arithmetic. Unless the cast-wheel look or the Navy color decides it for you, this is the version the math recommends.
Does the 48V system change how it rides?
At the same 500W rating and 20 mph cap, higher voltage mostly shows up under load: pull-aways with a full basket, the last third of a hill, cold mornings. Voltage sag bites a 36V system earlier than a 48V one. It's not a different class of bike — it's the same bike with deeper reserves.
How far will it go between charges?
Samebike's claims: 50 km (31 mi) throttle-only, up to 100 km (62 mi) at the lowest assist level. Plan a commute around the 31-mile figure and charge every few days; the 4–6 hour charge fits any overnight. Range scales with the honest 624Wh — see our spec note on Samebike's '824Wh' marketing figure.
Can any bike shop service it?
The mechanical parts, yes — and that's a genuine spoked-wheel advantage: wheels, spokes, brakes, chain and the Shimano 7-speed cluster are standard bicycle hardware any shop can handle. Motor, battery and display faults route through us instead: email support@redtailebikes.com and Redtail manages the claim under Samebike's 1-year electronics coverage.
Is it bike-lane legal?
Its published numbers — 500W rated, 20 mph, pedal assist with throttle — match the Class 2 template most states use, making the CY20 Pro pair the most rules-friendly bikes Samebike sells. No class label is printed by Samebike, so check your state's specifics; our state-by-state law guides on the Redtail journal exist for exactly this question.
What's covered if something fails?
Samebike's published warranty applies in full at $599: 3 years on the frame, 1 year on the battery (prorated after the first year), motor and other components. Redtail files and manages every claim for bikes bought here — order number plus photos to support@redtailebikes.com. Inspect on delivery; both our 48-hour damage window and Samebike's 7-day shipping-claim window are short by design.
