Why the RS-A02 Plus

Hydraulic disc brakes, at $1,199
Samebike lists hydraulic disc brakes on the specification table, the stat strip and the description, and its brake panel says hydraulic brakes "provide a better braking effect in any condition, ride rain or shine." Samebike's brake photograph shows the hose at the lever and the caliper on its rotor.

816 Wh, the biggest pack on our Samebike folders
Forty-eight volts at 17 Ah makes 816 watt-hours. Turn the key and lift the pack out to charge it indoors, or plug the charger into the bike. Pedal easily at 15 mph on level pavement and our review's model carries a 180 lb rider 73 miles.

Sprung front and rear, on 4-inch tires
The specification table lists an "Adjustable front fork+rear suspension", and Samebike's fork panel says to lock the fork on flat surfaces for a stable ride and release it on bumpy roads. Its tire panel sends the 20 × 4.0 tires onto "snow, beach, road, or flat mud". Seven Shimano gears, five assist levels and a thumb throttle split the work between you and the motor.

Folds at a hinge in the main beam
Open the buckles and swing the front half back beside the rear wheel, and the bike measures 37.8 × 29.1 × 39.8 inches (960 × 740 × 1010 mm) by Samebike's figures. Its FAQ calls it a "double folding design (front and body folded)" that "can be stored in the trunk of a car"; measure your trunk opening, height included, before you order.

Five colors, all at $1,199
Black, White, Navy, Dark Green and Gray share one specification table and one price, so the paint is the whole decision. Navy is shown here.
What stands out on the spec sheet
- Hydraulic disc brakes, a lockout fork, a rear shock, a rear rack, lights at both ends and an electric horn, all standard at $1,199.
- Samebike's motor panel gives "the maximum torque (N.M) > 100" and a 20-degree climbing angle, and the manual prints the same 20 degrees.
- Samebike's FAQ rates the whole bike IP54 and the motor, battery and display IP64.
- Samebike's manual lists a 5 V 1 A USB charging port and a push-assist mode that moves the bike at under 6 km/h while you walk beside it.

Who the RS-A02 Plus fits
Samebike prints 5'3" to 6'3" as the recommended rider height for the RS-A02 Plus. On the seat post Samebike draws, the saddle reaches the fit formula's height for 94 of every 100 riders at 5'6" and 91 at 5'8"; read at Samebike's listed seat heights, the post suits 97 at 5'8", 100 at 5'10" and 94 at 6'0".
It’s your bike if
- You want hydraulic disc brakes and 4-inch fat tires on a bike that folds
- Your rides cross snow, beach, road or flat mud, the ground Samebike's tire panel names
- You are about 5'6" to 5'8", where both readings of Samebike's seat post reach the standard saddle height for 76 to 97 of every 100 riders
- You want the biggest battery of the Samebike folders we sell, 816 Wh, with a thumb throttle and a rear rack
Want something different? We stock it
- If you are under about 5'4", the CY20 Pro is drawn for riders from 150 cm (4'11") and charted from 4'9", and its drawn seat post reaches the formula saddle height for 99 of every 100 riders at 5'4"; it is $599.
- If you want a lower fold, or a $999 price on the same 4-inch tires, the RS-A02 Pro folds to 31.1 inches tall on 20 × 4.0 tires with a 720 Wh battery for $999, and its drawn seat post reaches the formula saddle height for 85 of every 100 riders at 6'0".
- If you want hydraulic brakes for $999 and 3-inch tires suit your rides, the LO26 Plus folds on 26 × 3.0 tires with hydraulic disc brakes and a 720 Wh battery, and weighs 30.5 kg (67.2 lb), less than any other Samebike we sell.
Our RS-A02 Plus review sets out, for heights from 5'0" to 6'4", both readings of the seat post, whether both feet reach the ground, how far you lean and how much weight your hands carry, on Samebike's drawing of this frame.

Owning it in your state
Samebike's US page assigns the RS-A02 Plus no e-bike class, so the definition in your state settles where and how you ride it.
The figures a state definition tests are all published: 1200 W rated with an 1800 W peak, a top speed of 45 km/h (28.0 mph), and a thumb throttle that moves the bike without pedaling. As of September 27, 2026, no CPSC recall names Samebike.
The rules for where you ride are in our state-by-state e-bike law guide.

Samebike’s figures, from its US product page and specification table (us.samebike.com/products/rs-a02-plus-off-road-peak-1800w-fat-tire-foldable-electric-bike) and its owner’s manual, read September 27, 2026. Metric-to-US conversions are ours.
What we counted. Of the five Samebike bikes we sell that fold, the RS-A02 Plus carries the biggest battery, 816 Wh, and it is the only one whose specification table pairs hydraulic disc brakes with 4.0-inch tires.
Counted on October 2, 2026 across the eleven Samebike models we sell, from each one's US specification table.
Where Samebike prints two figures
Samebike prints a few RS-A02 Plus figures two ways. Each pair is below, with the value the table above uses.
- Charge time: 4–6 hours on the specification table and 6–8 hours in the manual. The table above prints both, and an overnight charge covers either.
- Range: 130 km at pedal-assist level 1 and 65 km on pure electric on the product page; 56–72 miles with pedal assist and 31–34 miles on pure electric in the manual. The table above prints both sets.
- Unfolded size: 1.7 × 0.66 × 1.1 m on the specification table; 1710 × 660 × 1100 mm in the manual and the FAQ. The table above uses the millimeter figures.
- Weight: 33 kg on the specification table, 72 lb in the manual and 72.7 lb on the gallery's size chart. The table above uses 33 kg (72.8 lb).
- Wheelbase: 44.4 in on the size-and-fit list and 1130 mm on the gallery's size chart. The table above uses 44.4 in.
- Rider height: 5'3"–6'3" on the size-and-fit drawing and the gallery's size chart, whose height scale reads 158 and 192 cm; the FAQ calls the bike "suitable for people of all heights".
- Warranty: the warranty policy lists 3 years on the frame and 1 year on batteries, motors and other accessories; the product page's policy block reads "12 Months Warranty" and its FAQ says "1-3 year". The warranty section below quotes the policy page.
- Rear shock: a black damper in Samebike's photographs and a "Hydraulic Shock Absorber" in its European comparison; the size-and-fit drawing sketches a coil spring. The table above says rear shock.
Straight answers before you order
At 6'0", the two readings of the seat post part: on the post Samebike draws, 17 of every 100 riders reach the formula saddle height, and on its listed seat heights, 94.
Send us your inseam and we will get the post's top height from Samebike in writing before you order. Riders of 5'6" to 5'8" fit on both readings. Read both saddle tables.
Folded, it measures 37.8 × 29.1 × 39.8 inches, Samebike's figure.
Measure the trunk or closet before you order, the 39.8-inch height first. Where that height will not go in, the RS-A02 Pro folds to 31.1 inches tall on the same 20 × 4.0 tires. See the RS-A02 Pro's folded size.
Samebike quotes its 130 km (81 miles) for pedal-assist level 1.
Plan with the manual's bands, 56–72 miles pedaling and 31–34 on the throttle alone, or with the range tables in our review for your speed, effort, climb, weight and temperature. See the range tables.
The bike is 33 kg (72.8 lb) out of the box, and the box itself 38 kg (83 lb).
Plan two people for the delivery, then lift the battery out before each carry and roll the bike wherever you can. The LO26 Plus weighs 30.5 kg (67.2 lb), the least of any Samebike we sell. See the LO26 Plus.
It costs $200 more than the RS-A02 Pro.
The $200 buys hydraulic discs where the Pro's specification table lists mechanical ones, 1200 W against 1000 W, and 816 Wh against 720 Wh. If $999 is your ceiling, the RS-A02 Pro folds on the same 20 × 4.0 tires. See the RS-A02 Pro.
Manuals and assembly
The RS-A02 Plus manual walks through five steps before the first ride: the handlebar and stem, the headlight, the front fender, the front wheel (take out the disc brake gasket, seat the caliper on the rotor and close the quick-release clamp), and the pedals, marked R and L, the right one tightened clockwise and the left counterclockwise. The box holds the charger, two large wrenches and six Allen wrenches. Stuck on a step? Send us its number and we will walk you through it.
Warranty cover, and who files the claim
A fault is our job
If the bike will not power on, will not charge, shows an error code or has a faulty component, send photos or video and your order number. We open the claim with Samebike and coordinate the repair or replacement remotely, start to finish.
What Samebike publishes
Samebike’s warranty policy states: “Frame warranty for 3 years, batteries, motors and other accessories warranty for 1 year.” After the first year, a battery earns “a prorated credit, based on months of service,” toward a new one.
Samebike’s terms, from its Samebike Warranty Policy (us.samebike.com/pages/warranty-policy), read September 26, 2026.
Wear items
Samebike’s policy lists brake pads, rotors, spokes, tires and tubes, chains, chain rings, cassettes and the crankset among the parts not typically covered, as ordinary wear and tear.
Frequently asked questions
How far can the Samebike RS-A02 Plus go on one charge?
For a 180 lb rider on level pavement, our review's range model gives about 48 miles holding 15 mph on the throttle and 73 pedaling easily at that speed. Samebike's product page gives up to 130 km (81 miles) at pedal-assist level 1, and its manual 56 to 72 miles with pedal assist and 31 to 34 on pure electric.
What is the top speed of the Samebike RS-A02 Plus?
Samebike's specification table and stat strip list 45 km/h (28.0 mph), and the manual 28 mph. Where speed matters under your state's rules, we will get Samebike's written figure for your unit.
Is the RS-A02 Plus 1200 W or 750 W?
Samebike's US specification table and product title give 1200 W rated and an 1800 W peak. The 750W figure is from the description on Samebike's European store, and 1000 W is the RS-A02 Pro's rating.
Is the RS-A02 Plus street legal, and what class is it?
Samebike assigns it no class, so your state's definition decides. What that definition tests is the motor's 1200 W rating and 1800 W peak, the 45 km/h (28.0 mph) top speed on Samebike's specification table, and the thumb throttle.
How much does the Samebike RS-A02 Plus weigh?
33 kg (72.8 lb) on the specification table, 72 lb in the manual and 72.7 lb on the gallery's size chart. It is rated to carry 150 kg (330 lb), and its delivery box weighs 38 kg (83 lb).
Does the RS-A02 Plus have hydraulic brakes?
Yes. Samebike's specification table, stat strip, brake panel and description all name hydraulic disc brakes, and its brake photograph shows the hose running to the lever.
Does the Samebike RS-A02 Plus have a throttle?
Yes: a thumb throttle at the right grip moves the bike without pedaling, beside five pedal-assist levels.
How long does the RS-A02 Plus battery take to charge?
4 to 6 hours on Samebike's specification table and 6 to 8 in the manual; the 54.6 V 3 A charger fills the 17 Ah pack in about 5.7 hours by plain division. Charge on the bike or with the pack out.
Can you replace the RS-A02 Plus battery?
Yes: turn the key and the pack slides out of the frame. Samebike's warranty policy covers batteries for 1 year, then applies a prorated credit toward a new one; send us your order number and we will find the matching 48 V 17 Ah pack.
How do you fold the Samebike RS-A02 Plus?
Samebike's manual shows it in three moves: open the buckles one at a time, bend the bike so the two halves meet side by side, and finish the fold. Folded, it measures 37.8 × 29.1 × 39.8 inches (960 × 740 × 1010 mm).
What rider height fits the RS-A02 Plus?
Samebike prints 5'3" to 6'3" on its size-and-fit drawing and calls the bike "suitable for people of all heights". On the post it draws, the saddle reaches the formula height for 94 of every 100 riders at 5'6" and 91 at 5'8"; at its listed seat heights, 97 at 5'8" and 94 at 6'0".
How is the RS-A02 Plus different from the RS-A02 Pro?
The Plus is the $1,199 one, with 1200 W rated and 1800 W peak, 48 V 17 Ah (816 Wh), hydraulic discs and 45 km/h. The RS-A02 Pro is $999, with 1000 W and a 1500 W peak, 48 V 15 Ah, mechanical discs on its specification table and 40 km/h; both fold on 20 × 4.0 tires and weigh 33 kg.
Can I pay for the RS-A02 Plus in installments?
Yes, through Shop Pay, subject to an eligibility check: $108.22 a month for 12 months at 15% APR, $1,298.64 in total, or $409.70 a month for 3 months at 15% APR, $1,229.10 in total, in the sample plans read September 27, 2026.
Rates from 0-36% APR. Payment options through Shop Pay Installments are subject to an eligibility check and are provided by these lending partners: affirm.com/lenders. Options depend on your purchase amount, and a down payment may be required. State notices to consumers: affirm.com/licenses.
