Eahora FT-01 Max Single-Speed Moped-Style Electric Bike

Half again the motor and half again the battery of the FT-01, on the same short frame — and fenders that actually fit fat tires.

Quick answer

The FT-01 Max is the bigger FT-01: a 1,500W hub motor and a 1,440Wh 48V 30Ah pack against the FT-01's 1,000W and 960Wh, on the same 68-inch single-speed moped frame, with a 330 lb load rating instead of 265 lb. It is one of only four Eahora models that states a class on its own page. Eahora publishes no compare-at price for it. Black was in stock at Eahora on 2026-08-24; the other four colorways were not. $1,799 to match their price.

Who the FT-01 Max is for

Buy it if

  • Riders choosing between the two FT-01s who want the bigger motor and battery — 1,500W and 1,440Wh against 1,000W and 960Wh, for $300
  • Anyone who wants the higher load rating: 330 lb here against the FT-01's 265 lb, on the same frame and geometry
  • Urban riders who want nothing to maintain: single-speed drive, no derailleur, no shifter, no cassette
  • Buyers who want a stated class on the page: this is one of four Eahora models that publishes one

Or one of these instead

  • You want one published top-speed number — Eahora gives a 25-to-28 mph band for pedal assist and throttle together, plus a class statement, rather than a single figure
  • You wanted a color other than Black: four of Eahora's five colorways were unavailable on 2026-08-24
  • Your inseam is short. This shares the FT-01's fixed motorcycle-style saddle with no seatpost
Eahora FT-01 Max Single-Speed Moped-Style Electric Bike — 1,500 watts through a cassette hub
Power

1,500 watts through a cassette hub

A 1,500W DC hub motor with cassette drive, run by a 48V 40 ± 1A, 12-MOSFET controller — the highest controller current Eahora publishes for anything. Against the FT-01's 1,000W that is half again the power on the same chassis, which is most of what the $300 buys.

Eahora FT-01 Max Single-Speed Moped-Style Electric Bike — 1,440 watt-hours
Battery

1,440 watt-hours

A 48V 30Ah pack with a claimed 43 miles in pedal-assist mode and 28 on throttle alone. Half again the FT-01's 960Wh, and the reason this bike can carry a heavier rider further on the same frame. Eahora publishes neither the cell format nor a cycle life for this pack, where the cheaper FT-01 names its 21700 cells.

Eahora FT-01 Max Single-Speed Moped-Style Electric Bike — Sixty-five more pounds of headroom
Load

Sixty-five more pounds of headroom

Rated to 330 lb where the FT-01 on the same geometry is rated to 265 lb — rider and cargo together. Eahora does not explain what changed to allow it, but the higher figure is the one it publishes for this model and it is the practical reason to choose the Max if you are a larger rider.

Eahora FT-01 Max Single-Speed Moped-Style Electric Bike — Fenders that fit fat tires
Weatherproofing

Fenders that fit fat tires

Custom fat-tire fenders with a bracket arm, front and rear, included as standard — not the generic plastic pair fitted across most of the range, and not the 'None' the P5 family gets. Paired with IP65 protection on the motor, battery, display and wiring, and a brake-signalling tail light with a driving light.

Eahora FT-01 Max Single-Speed Moped-Style Electric Bike — Four-inch landscape color display
Cockpit

Four-inch landscape color display

A YL-90T-H 4-inch landscape color display rated IP65 at 120 cd/m², with a twist throttle and three pedal-assist levels. Eahora publishes the display's model number and its brightness, which is more detail than most of its range gives and enough to source a replacement.

The honest ledger

Green flags

  • 48V × 30Ah = 1,440Wh, exactly as printed, and all 25 watt-hour claims across Eahora's catalog recompute correctly
  • A 330 lb load rating on the same frame and geometry the FT-01 rates at 265 lb — a meaningful 65 lb of extra headroom for $300
  • Custom fat-tire fenders with a bracket arm, front and rear, included. Most of Eahora's range ships plastic fenders or none at all
  • A powered tail light with a brake signal and a driving light, where the P5 family gets a reflector
  • Eahora publishes "25 - 28 MPH for PAS & throttle" for this model

Red flags

  • Four of five colorways — White, Light Blue, Orange and Dark Cyan — were unavailable on 2026-08-24
  • Single-speed with a 48T chainring: no derailleur, no shifter, no freewheel. Pedalling works in one narrow band of speed
  • Eahora gives the speed as a band — 25 to 28 mph for pedal assist and throttle alike — with no single top-speed row. In many states a throttle is capped at 20 mph, so the throttle half of that band can put this outside Class 3 where you live

Speed and the law — read this before you buy

This is one of only four Eahora models that states a class on its own page: its spec row reads 'Class 3 ebike with 3-level pedal assist and throttle.' Two things are worth knowing before you rely on it. First, Eahora gives the speed as a band — 25 to 28 mph, quoted for pedal assist and throttle alike — and never as the single top-speed row, so the 28 mph pedal-assist ceiling that defines Class 3 has only the top of a band to be read against. Second, many states define Class 3 as pedal-assist only, with throttle assistance capped at 20 mph separately, and this bike offers both. Its moped styling may also attract rules its performance does not warrant. A class is a conclusion under your state's statute rather than a manufacturer's label — read your own state's rule in Redtail's law guide, and ask us if it is not clear.

Speed figure as published by Eahora on this model's own page, archived 2026-08-24. Class definitions and the rules that follow from them are state law, not manufacturer copy — check yours in Redtail's state-by-state e-bike law guide before you ride. Not sure how it applies where you live? Email support@redtailebikes.com and we will read the statute with you.

How to read this spec sheet

Manufacturer pages contain marketing, and marketing sometimes disagrees with the spec table an inch below it. Rather than quietly pick numbers, here is every place Eahora's own material disagrees with itself for this model, and which figure we print:

  • Eahora quotes 25 to 28 mph for pedal assist and throttle together, and states a class, but never prints the single top-speed row the class is defined by.
  • Drivetrain: single-speed. No derailleur, shifter or freewheel; 48T chainring.
  • Battery: 48V × 30Ah = 1,440Wh, matching Eahora's printed figure. The arithmetic is ours.
  • Availability: Black read available on both Eahora endpoints on 2026-08-24; White, Light Blue, Orange and Dark Cyan did not, so only Black is listed here.
  • Warranty: Eahora's coverage table (published only as an image) gives 24 months on the frame; the same page states a one-year claims deadline. Both are Eahora's; we print both.

Warranty

Component Coverage
Frame 24 months — covers desoldering and material fracture
Fork 12 months — performance failure
Motor 12 months — quality fault, break down, or performance failure
Battery 12 months — quality fault, or measured capacity below 50% of rated capacity (the battery housing is excluded)
Controller 6 months — performance failure
Charger 3 months — performance failure
Display / dashboard 3 months — performance failure
Tires 3 months — cracking or leaking
Saddle 3 months — cracking or damage
Front / middle axle 3 months — performance failure
All other parts 3 months — damage or performance

What it covers

Manufacturing defects under normal use, for the original owner, on the components and for the periods in the table above. Eahora's stated remedy is free replacement parts shipped within the continental U.S.; only bikes it judges unrepairable (its example is a severely broken frame) go back for inspection, and Eahora provides the label in that case.

What you must do

  • Proof of purchase from Redtail (your order confirmation is enough)
  • Photos or video of the fault with any claim — Eahora requires both before it reviews
  • Report shipping damage within 10 days of delivery on Eahora's terms, and within 48 hours on ours — so work to the 48-hour window and you are inside both
  • Use Eahora-approved parts and chargers; its warranty excludes damage caused by anything else

Not covered

  • Normal wear and tear — tires, brake pads, chains and other consumables (Eahora's own wording)
  • Damage from misuse, accidents, modifications, improper maintenance, or non-original parts
  • Water damage, extreme weather, and force-majeure events
  • Second-hand owners and commercial use
  • Damage from crashes, overloading, stunts, or unauthorized repairs
  • The battery housing (the cells and their measured capacity are covered; the case is not)
  • A second motor replacement — Eahora charges for replacement and freight once a motor has already been replaced under warranty
  • Eahora's warranty page sets a 24-month frame period in its coverage table, then closes with 'Claims deadline: 1 year from purchase date.' The two statements are on the same page and are not reconciled anywhere on it. We print both and treat 12 months as the figure to plan around; if you need the frame claim in year two, tell us and we will put it to Eahora in writing before you order.
  • Eahora's own storefront header advertises '1 Year Warranty', which matches the claims deadline rather than the 24-month frame row.

Eahora Limited Warranty issued by Eahora, as published on its warranty page — where the coverage table is posted as an image rather than as text, so every row above was read off that image on 2026-08-24 and kept on file. Send photos or video of the issue with your order number and we take it from there — Redtail files and manages the claim with Eahora on your behalf.

Returns

Change-of-mind returns accepted only on unopened, factory-sealed items requested within 72 hours (3 days) of delivery, with a 15% restocking fee plus return shipping. Once a box is opened or a bike is ridden, it is no longer eligible.

Once an eligible return arrives we take up to 5 business days to inspect it; approved refunds issue within 14 days of completed inspection, and your bank may take a further 2–15 business days to post it.

Order cancellations carry a 3% transaction fee, because card-processing fees are non-recoverable.

Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. territories, P.O. boxes, and remote areas may incur extra charges or be excluded — contact us before ordering. Full terms: Redtail Shipping Policy · Redtail Refund & Return Policy. Eahora publishes its own shipping and return terms, which govern orders placed directly with Eahora — not orders placed here. Buying from Redtail means Redtail's terms apply and Redtail handles the manufacturer relationship on your behalf.

Frequently asked questions

How fast does the FT-01 Max go?

Eahora puts the FT-01 Max at 25 to 28 mph, one band for pedal assist and throttle alike, and its spec sheet reads 'Class 3 ebike with 3-level pedal assist and throttle'. That matters because Class 3 is defined by a 28 mph pedal-assist ceiling, while many states cap a throttle at 20 mph. If the number matters for your state, ask us and we will get it from Eahora in writing before you order.

Is it a Class 3 e-bike?

Eahora says so on this model's own page, which puts it among only four of its 26 bikes that state a class at all. Whether that holds where you live is a different question: many states define Class 3 as pedal-assist only with throttle capped at 20 mph, and this bike offers both. A class is a conclusion under your state's statute rather than a label a manufacturer applies. Check Redtail's law guide and ask us if it is unclear.

FT-01 or FT-01 Max?

The Max gives you half again the motor (1,500W against 1,000W), half again the battery (1,440Wh against 960Wh), 65 lb more load rating (330 against 265), proper fat-tire fenders and a powered tail light — for $300. What the cheaper FT-01 keeps is a published cycle life and named 21700 cells, neither of which the Max discloses; on speed the Max quotes 25–28 mph against the FT-01's 23–26, and on torque 70 N·m against the FT-01's 95. On stock, the Max's Black was buyable on our pull date and neither FT-01 colorway was.

Which colors can I actually get?

Black. Eahora publishes five colorways — Black, White, Light Blue, Orange and Dark Cyan — but only Black read available on both endpoints we checked on 2026-08-24, so it is the only one listed here. We list what Eahora can actually supply rather than take your money for a color that is not in a warehouse. Email support@redtailebikes.com and we will tell you whether the others have come back.

Single-speed — can I pedal it?

In one narrow band of speed. Eahora specifies no derailleur, no shifter and no freewheel, with a 48T chainring: there is one gear, and it will feel right at roughly one cadence. On a 90 lb moped-shaped bike that runs mostly on throttle, dropping the shifting hardware removes the parts most likely to need adjustment — but the pedals are there for the law and for emergencies, not for exercise.

Is the battery UL certified?

Eahora states that its batteries are 'fully compliant with the rigorous UL certification standards'. It does not name a standard number or a testing laboratory for this model, so if your building, landlord or insurer asks for a certificate document, ask us before you order and we will request it from Eahora in writing.

What warranty applies, and who handles a claim?

Eahora's published terms: 24 months on the frame, 12 on the fork, motor and battery, 6 on the controller, 3 on the charger, display, tires, saddle and other parts. Its page also states a one-year claims deadline, which is the figure to plan around. Claims on a bike bought here run through Redtail — send photos or video with your order number to support@redtailebikes.com and we deal with Eahora. Inspect the box within 48 hours of delivery.
