Quick answer

The Velotric T1 is a 36 lb road e-bike that Velotric lists as Class 1: a 350W hub (600W peak, 45 Nm) with a two-sided torque sensor, a 36V 352.8Wh battery on Samsung 21700 cells and up to 70 miles of assist, per Velotric. No colorway is orderable at Velotric today, so none is orderable here; the T1ST is in stock at $1,399.

  • 350WMotor · 45 Nm
  • 353 WhBattery
  • Up to 70 miMfr. PAS range
  • 330lbsMax load

Every figure above is Velotric's own published specification for the T1, read from www.velotricbike.com/products/velotric-t1-ebike?country=US on 2026-08-24. Manufacturer claims, not Redtail test results — we label them that way rather than dress them up.

Stock matched

Every colorway is out of stock right now — all 2 of them (Frozen Blue, Crystal Black). That mirrors Velotric's own availability rather than hiding it: we would rather show you an honest zero than take an order we cannot fill. Email us and we will tell you what we know about the next run.

Who the T1 is for

Buy it if

  • Riders who want a light, pedal-first road bike: 36 lb with a two-sided torque sensor
  • Anyone who wants the T1 specifically and will wait for it to return

Skip it if

  • You want to buy today — the T1ST is in stock at $1,399
  • You want a throttle — Velotric lists the T1 as Class 1
  • You carry more than 330 lb in total — Velotric rates the T1 at 330 lb; the GoMad is rated to 500 lb

The T1 in detail

Velotric T1 — 36 lb
Weight

36 lb

Velotric puts the T1 at 36 lb on a triple-butted 6061 aluminum frame with the battery inside it, light enough to carry up a flight of stairs.

Velotric T1 — A two-sided torque sensor
Feel

A two-sided torque sensor

Velotric specifies a two-sided torque sensor, so the assist follows how hard you push on either pedal: the feel of a road bike with help rather than a motor that switches on.

Velotric T1 — 350W, 600W peak, 45 Nm
Power

350W, 600W peak, 45 Nm

A 350W hub with a 600W peak and 45 Nm, per Velotric, held to 20 mph, which Velotric lists as Class 1, with five assist levels and Tektro HD-R280 hydraulic disc brakes.

Velotric T1 — 352.8Wh on Samsung 21700 cells
Battery

352.8Wh on Samsung 21700 cells

A 36V 9.8Ah pack on Samsung 21700 cells, which Velotric rates at up to 70 miles of assist and charges to 80% in 4 hours, with an optional 176.4Wh range extender.

Velotric T1 — GPS tracking and fingerprint unlock
Security

GPS tracking and fingerprint unlock

Velotric lists theft alerts, GPS tracking and fingerprint and Bluetooth unlock on the T1, with a light-sensing headlight that switches itself on.

The honest ledger

Green flags

  • Velotric publishes real geometry for this frame — stack, reach, stand-over and top-tube — not just a rider-height range.
  • Sensor: 2-Side Torque sensor. A torque sensor responds to how hard you push rather than merely that you are pedalling.

Red flags

  • No colorway is buyable at Velotric today, so none is buyable here.

What Velotric states about certification

If certification matters to your purchase, ask us and we will confirm this model's certification with Velotric in writing before you order.

Class, speed and where you can ride

See below

The motor is specified at 350W. The federal low-speed electric bicycle definition at 15 U.S.C. § 2085 tops out at 750W, so this sits below it.

What the classes mean in practice: Class 1 is pedal-assist only up to 20 mph; Class 2 adds a throttle up to 20 mph; Class 3 is pedal-assist to 28 mph and is the class most often restricted on shared-use paths. Which classes are allowed where is set by your state and often by your city or park district.

We are not going to tell you this bike “is” a Class 3 e-bike, because that depends on how it is set and where you ride it. Tell us your state and we will put the answer in an email you can keep.

We publish a state-by-state e-bike law hub, and if you want your own state answered in writing before you order, ask us and we will put it in an email you can keep.

How to read this spec sheet

Nominal and peak are different numbers

Velotric publishes a nominal motor rating and, on several models, a peak figure alongside it (“750W (1300W Peak Power)”). Nominal is the continuous rating that the federal low-speed electric bicycle definition and state statutes are written against; peak is a short-burst ceiling. When you compare against a brand that quotes only peak, you are not comparing like with like.

Two range figures, not one

Velotric quotes throttle range and pedal-assist range separately rather than blending them into a single flattering number. The assist figure is the higher of the two and assumes you are contributing. Plan around the throttle figure if you intend to use one.

Class is a setting, not a fact about the bike

These bikes ship at a default speed limit and can be adjusted within a stated range. What is legal where you ride depends on that setting and on your state and city — which is why we will not print a class badge and call it done.

Size and fit

M
Height 5'6'' ~ 6'0'' Seat Tube Length 480mm Head Tube Length 115mm
Stack 546mm Reach 438mm Stand-Over Height 757mm
Top-Tube Length (horizontal) 600mm Min Saddle Height 810mm Max Saddle Height 982mm

Velotric publishes stack, reach, stand-over and top-tube figures for this frame — the numbers that actually decide fit. Most brands at this price publish a height range and stop.

Source: Velotric's published specification for the T1 at www.velotricbike.com/products/velotric-t1-ebike?country=US, read 2026-08-24. A field Velotric does not publish is left out rather than estimated.

What we counted

Measured by Redtail

We pulled Velotric's entire published catalog on 2026-08-24 — all 125 products and every variant — and counted what could actually be bought that day. Velotric could sell 80 of its own 102 published bike configurations on the pull date — 78%. 6 of its 20 bike models had no buyable colorway at all.

Across the accessory and parts range, 152 of 166 variants were buyable. We mirror that availability daily rather than list a color nobody can ship — which is why some options on this page may be greyed out today and back tomorrow.

Warranty

Buy the bike from Redtail and Redtail handles the claim. Send photos or video of the issue with your order number and we take it from there — we file and manage it rather than sending you to a manufacturer inbox. Velotric also keeps its own customer-service line open to every owner for troubleshooting, for the life of the bike, whoever sold it.

Who covers you

Velotric's warranty states: “Only applicable to United States e-bike purchases from velotricbike.com. Bikes purchased outside the Velotric official website shall contact their original dealer for after-sale service.” Redtail is a dealer, so after-sale service on this bike is Redtail's and the claim comes to us. Velotric adds that “All Velotric bike owners are entitled to contact the Velotric CS Team for troubleshooting service throughout the lifetime of bikes.” — that part is open to every owner, whoever sold the bike.

What Velotric stands behind, on a direct purchase

  • 5 years — Structure — frame, and the rigid fork on T1, T1ST, T1ST Plus, Breeze and Tempo
  • 2 years — Electrical — motor, throttle, PAS panel, controller, wiring harness, lights, IOT module, sensor, fingerprint module, FindMy module, charger, display
  • 2 years — Battery — designed to retain up to 75% of original capacity over the period
  • 1 year — Other essential components — suspension forks, stem, handlebar, headset, brakes (excluding pads), bottom bracket, crankset, pedals, kickstand, rims, hub, freewheel, cassette, derailleur, shifter
  • Runs from the date of delivery of the original purchase.

Velotric publishes three warranty documents, and they disagree

  • velotricbike.com/pages/warranty: 5-year structure row naming T1, T1ST, T1ST Plus, Breeze and Tempo; battery 2 years, designed to retain up to 75% of original capacity.
  • Velotric support-center policy (updated 2026-08-21): the same structure row narrowed to 'T1 & T1ST only'; battery expressed as 2 years or 'up to 300 charging cycles, whichever occurs first'.
  • Velotric owner's manual, p.100 (PDF deposit copy held): a flat 2-year term whose Covered Components include frame, forks and brake — no 5-year tier at all.

We quote all three and present none as governing, because Velotric has not said which one wins. It matters less than it looks here — your cover is Redtail's — but you should know the manufacturer's own documents are not consistent.

What is excluded

  • Consumables and wear parts — tires, tubes, brake pads, cables and housing, grips, chain, spokes, bearings, free hub bodies, sprockets
  • Paint and graphics; suspension forks and suspension parts are excluded from the frame definition
  • Third-party components such as drivetrain, brakes or suspension — refer to that manufacturer
  • Improper assembly, crash, neglect, improper repair or maintenance, corrosion

Velotric's warranty terms as published at www.velotricbike.com/pages/warranty, read 2026-08-24. Reproduced as context for what the manufacturer stands behind on a direct purchase; your cover is Redtail's. First owner / original purchaser only. Subsequent owners are not covered, though Velotric invites them to contact its CS team.

Frequently asked questions

What are the specifications of the Velotric T1?

Velotric's specification: a 350W hub (600W peak, 45 Nm); a two-sided torque sensor; a 36V 9.8Ah, 352.8Wh battery on Samsung 21700 cells; up to 70 miles; 20 mph as a Class 1 e-bike; 36 lb; a 330 lb load rating; 700 × 38c tires; Tektro HD-R280 hydraulic disc brakes.

Has the Velotric T1 been discontinued?

Velotric still lists the T1 with its full specification, and we will tell you when a colorway is orderable again if you ask us.

Is the Velotric T1 UL certified?

Velotric's certification page says most of its e-bikes are UL 2271 Recognized and UL 2849 Certified. For the T1 specifically, ask us and we will confirm with Velotric in writing before you order.

What class of e-bike is the T1?

Velotric lists the T1 as Class 1 with a 20 mph top speed: assist only while you pedal.

Can I still buy the Velotric T1?

Not today: no colorway is orderable at Velotric, so none is orderable here. The T1ST is in stock at $1,399.

The bottom line

The T1 is Velotric's light road e-bike: 36 lb, a two-sided torque sensor and up to 70 miles of assist. It is not orderable today, so the T1ST at $1,399 is the one to buy now.
