The Swift Horse Ultra X-6E in detail
A Bafang, and why the name matters
Every other bike in this range is specified as a generic brushless hub. This one is a 4,000W peak Bafang. Bafang is the largest e-bike motor manufacturer in the world, which means a named part with a documented service history and parts you can actually source in three years — the thing that decides whether a bike is repairable or disposable.
48V 35Ah of LG cells
An LG-celled 35Ah pack rated 87–140 miles and charged in 4–6 hours. The cell brand is stated, which is not true everywhere in this range, and the certificate matches it exactly: TÜV SÜD U10 128702 0001 covers battery FP4835R0 at 35Ah — the precise pack fitted here.
The best-documented bike Freesky sells
UL 2849 certificate U14 128702 0006 names X-6E on its face, alone, rather than sharing a certificate with three stablemates. The UL 2271 battery certificate matches the pack capacity to the decimal. Nothing here is inherited from another model, which is more than can be said for parts of this range.
120 mm double-shoulder downhill fork
A downhill double-shoulder suspension fork with 120 mm travel, 180 mm four-piston hydraulic brakes, and 26.0" × 4.0" fat tires on an EMTB frame. Double-shoulder means the fork is braced above and below the crown — stiffer under braking, which is what you want with four-piston calipers.
83 lb with 35Ah aboard
Carrying ten more amp-hours than the Ranger Air, it still weighs twelve pounds less. Single motor, mountain frame and no rear hub assembly is where that goes. Among bikes that will genuinely do a hundred miles, this is the light one.

Green flags
- Brakes are the real thing: 180MM 4-piston Hydraulic Brakes. Four-piston hydraulics on a bike this heavy is not a given at this price.
- Suspension: Front and Rear Suspension, with a Downhill Double Shoulder Suspension Fork 120 MM Travel.
- The complete-system UL 2849 certificate exists, names this model on its face, and we link the PDF — not a badge image.
- Rated to carry 400 lbs.
- Charging time: 4–6 hours.
Red flags
- At 38 mph assisted, this is outside every US e-bike class. Off-road and private land, not bike paths.
- Freesky publishes peak wattage only — no rated figure. Under our own rating system an undisclosed specification scores zero, and we do not guess at it.
- Cadence (speed) sensor rather than a torque sensor — assist comes on with pedal rotation, not with how hard you push.

All 3 UL 2271 battery certificates in this range — certificate no. U10 128702 0001 Rev. 00, U10 128702 0003 Rev. 00, U10 128702 0009 Rev. 00 — carry the same remark on their face: “The battery is used for off-road LEVs.” That is the certifying body describing the intended use, not our characterisation of it.
Speed and the law
Outside the federal and state e-bike definitions — off-road and private land
Freesky rates this bike at 38 mph under pedal assist. The federal low-speed electric bicycle definition (15 U.S.C. § 2085) and every state three-class framework stop at 28 mph, so this machine sits outside them on speed alone — before wattage is even reached. It is not a Class 1, 2 or 3 e-bike, and we will not sell it as one.
Freesky does not publish a rated (nominal) motor wattage for any bike in this range; the figures they publish are peak. The statutory tests are written against the rated figure, so the wattage limb of those tests cannot be run on published data. We say that rather than substitute the peak number, which would be the wrong number.
Freesky's own manual puts it this way: “laws regulating the use of battery-operated bicycles on public roads, parks, and other open areas may vary by state and locality. It is important to consult with your local authorities before riding your e-bike in public areas.” Buy it for private land, OHV areas, and anywhere motor-vehicle rules allow. Check your own state and city before you ride it anywhere public — and ask us, we will put the answer in writing.

How to read this spec sheet
Peak, not rated
Freesky publishes peak motor wattage on every model and a rated (nominal) figure on none of them — not on the product pages, not in the comparison table, not in any of the seven user manuals. Peak is the short-burst ceiling; rated is the continuous figure that statutes are written against. A Freesky peak number and another brand's rated number are two different quantities, and comparing them directly will mislead you.
Range is a range for a reason
Every range figure here is Freesky's, quoted as a span. Plan around the bottom of it. Rider weight, terrain, temperature, tyre pressure and throttle use all take from the top.
Top speed is unloaded
Manufacturer top speeds are measured under favourable conditions. They are useful for comparing models within a range and much less useful as a promise about your commute.
Size and fit
Freesky quotes a rider-height range of 5'3"–6'5" for the Swift Horse Ultra X-6E, on a 30.9*300MM Alloy Seatpost. That is the manufacturer's fit window, not a guarantee — if you are near either end of it, tell us your inseam and we will tell you honestly whether it will work.

We pulled Freesky's entire published catalogue on 2026-08-24 — all 60 products and every variant — and counted what could actually be bought that day. Freesky could sell 30 of its own 38 published bike configurations on the pull date — 79%. 0 of its 10 bike models had no buyable colourway at all.

Warranty
Buy the bike from Redtail and Redtail handles the claim. Send photos or video of the issue with your order number and we take it from there — we file and manage the claim with Freesky on your behalf, and we do not send you to the manufacturer to argue it yourself.
Who covers you
Freesky's published warranty says, in its own words: “This warranty applies only to products purchased directly from the official FREESKY website (www.freeskycycle.com).” and directs buyers from authorised dealers to “their respective warranty policies”. Redtail is a dealer — so the cover on your bike is Redtail's, and the claim comes to us.
What Freesky stands behind

- All other components: 12 months
- The applicable warranty period begins on the original purchase date.

- Consumables and wear parts — tyres, tubes, brake pads, cables and housing, grips, chain, spokes

Shipping
Free shipping on every electric bike within the contiguous United States (lower 48). Orders are prepared and dispatched within 1–3 business days of confirmation. Most e-bikes arrive within 5–10 business days after dispatch, depending on location.
On delivery
Inspect your shipment at delivery. Damage, defects, or incorrect items must be reported with photos within 48 hours; claims submitted after this window are not accepted.
Returns
Change-of-mind returns accepted only on unopened, factory-sealed items requested within 72 hours (3 days) of delivery, with a 15% restocking fee plus return shipping. Once a box is opened or a bike is ridden, it is no longer eligible.
If something is wrong
Bikes with power, charging, or component issues are covered under the manufacturer warranty; Redtail coordinates repair or replacement remotely at no cost to the customer.
