Quick answer

The Velotric Triker is Velotric's electric trike: a 48V, 750W rear hub (1,300W peak, 90 Nm), a 48V 16.75Ah battery and a 500 lb load rating that includes the rear basket. Velotric sets it at 12 mph out of the box, adjustable from 8 to 20 mph, and lists it as Class 1/2. $2,499, with free shipping in the lower 48.

Who the Triker is for

Buy it if

  • Riders who want three wheels — the Triker is the only trike in Velotric's range
  • Anyone who wants a low, steady speed: Velotric ships it at 12 mph and lets you set anything from 8 to 20
  • Errands with a load: Velotric rates it for 500 lb, rear basket included

Skip it if

  • You want to ride faster than 20 mph — the Discover 3 can be set to 28
  • You want two wheels for less — the Discover 2 is $1,699
  • You need to carry the bike upstairs — the Fold 1 Plus folds and weighs 63 lb

The Triker in detail

Velotric Triker — Three wheels, one size for 4'10
Stability

Three wheels, one size for 4'10" to 6'5"

Velotric builds the Triker in one size for riders from 4'10" to 6'5", with a foldable, adjustable stem and a seat with an adjustable backrest. Three wheels mean no balancing at a stop, which is the point of a trike.

Velotric Triker — 750W, 1,300W peak, 90 Nm
Power

750W, 1,300W peak, 90 Nm

A 48V, 750W rear hub with a 1,300W peak and 90 Nm, per Velotric, through a seven-speed Shimano drivetrain, with a removable trigger throttle.

Velotric Triker — 8 to 20 mph, set by you
Control

8 to 20 mph, set by you

Velotric ships the Triker at 12 mph and lets you set the limit anywhere from 8 to 20 mph. Hydraulic disc brakes with 180 mm rotors do the stopping, and the parking brake in the levers holds it on a slope.

Velotric Triker — UL 2849 and UL 2271, as Velotric states
Certification

UL 2849 and UL 2271, as Velotric states

Velotric's specification for the Triker states UL 2849 for the electrical system, UL 2271 for the battery, UL 2580 for its 18650 cells and ISO 4210. If your building or insurer asks for the certificate document, ask us and we will request it from Velotric in writing.

Velotric Triker — 60 miles on assist, 50 on the throttle
Range

60 miles on assist, 50 on the throttle

Velotric quotes 60 miles on pedal assist and 50 on the throttle from the 48V 16.75Ah pack, charged by a 3A charger. Plan on less with a full basket and hills.

The honest ledger

Green flags

  • Velotric states UL 2849 certification for the complete electrical system, UL 2271 for the battery and UL 2580 for the cells, in this model's own spec sheet.
  • Velotric publishes real geometry for this frame — stack, reach, stand-over and top-tube — not just a rider-height range.
  • Velotric publishes throttle range and pedal-assist range separately — 50 Miles on throttle, 60 Miles on assist — instead of one blended number that flatters the bike.
  • Sensor: Torque and Cadence Sensor. A torque sensor responds to how hard you push rather than merely that you are pedalling.

Red flags

  • At 85.8 lb it is a heavy machine to lift into a car or up a step — plan on storing it where you can roll it in

What Velotric states about certification

Class, speed and where you can ride

See below

The motor is specified at 750W. The federal low-speed electric bicycle definition at 15 U.S.C. § 2085 tops out at 750W, so this sits at that ceiling rather than above it.

What the classes mean in practice: Class 1 is pedal-assist only up to 20 mph; Class 2 adds a throttle up to 20 mph; Class 3 is pedal-assist to 28 mph and is the class most often restricted on shared-use paths. Which classes are allowed where is set by your state and often by your city or park district.

We are not going to tell you this bike “is” a Class 3 e-bike, because that depends on how it is set and where you ride it. Tell us your state and we will put the answer in an email you can keep.

We publish a state-by-state e-bike law hub, and if you want your own state answered in writing before you order, ask us and we will put it in an email you can keep.

How to read this spec sheet

Nominal and peak are different numbers

Velotric publishes a nominal motor rating and, on several models, a peak figure alongside it (“750W (1300W Peak Power)”). Nominal is the continuous rating that the federal low-speed electric bicycle definition and state statutes are written against; peak is a short-burst ceiling. When you compare against a brand that quotes only peak, you are not comparing like with like.

Two range figures, not one

Velotric quotes throttle range and pedal-assist range separately rather than blending them into a single flattering number. The assist figure is the higher of the two and assumes you are contributing. Plan around the throttle figure if you intend to use one.

Class is a setting, not a fact about the bike

These bikes ship at a default speed limit and can be adjusted within a stated range. What is legal where you ride depends on that setting and on your state and city — which is why we will not print a class badge and call it done.

Size and fit

Velotric quotes a rider-height range of 4'10''-6'5'' for the Triker. If you are near either end of it, send us your inseam and we will tell you honestly whether it will work rather than sell you the wrong frame.

One Size
Height 4'10'' ~ 6'5'' Reach 350mm Handlebar Height 1180-1150mm
Wheelbase 1090mm Stand-Over Height 370mm Min Saddle Height 590mm
Max Saddle Height 983mm Rear Track Width 725mm Total Length 1647mm

Velotric publishes stack, reach, stand-over and top-tube figures for this frame — the numbers that actually decide fit. Most brands at this price publish a height range and stop.

What we counted

Measured by Redtail

We pulled Velotric's entire published catalog on 2026-08-24 — all 125 products and every variant — and counted what could actually be bought that day. Velotric could sell 80 of its own 102 published bike configurations on the pull date — 78%. 6 of its 20 bike models had no buyable colorway at all.

Across the accessory and parts range, 152 of 166 variants were buyable. We mirror that availability daily rather than list a color nobody can ship — which is why some options on this page may be greyed out today and back tomorrow.

Warranty

Buy the bike from Redtail and Redtail handles the claim. Send photos or video of the issue with your order number and we take it from there — we file and manage it rather than sending you to a manufacturer inbox. Velotric also keeps its own customer-service line open to every owner for troubleshooting, for the life of the bike, whoever sold it.

Who covers you

Velotric's warranty states: “Only applicable to United States e-bike purchases from velotricbike.com. Bikes purchased outside the Velotric official website shall contact their original dealer for after-sale service.” Redtail is a dealer, so after-sale service on this bike is Redtail's and the claim comes to us. Velotric adds that “All Velotric bike owners are entitled to contact the Velotric CS Team for troubleshooting service throughout the lifetime of bikes.” — that part is open to every owner, whoever sold the bike.

What Velotric stands behind, on a direct purchase

  • 2 years — Electrical — motor, throttle, PAS panel, controller, wiring harness, lights, IOT module, sensor, fingerprint module, FindMy module, charger, display
  • 2 years — Battery — designed to retain up to 75% of original capacity over the period
  • 1 year — Other essential components — suspension forks, stem, handlebar, headset, brakes (excluding pads), bottom bracket, crankset, pedals, kickstand, rims, hub, freewheel, cassette, derailleur, shifter
  • 1 year — Accessories
  • Runs from the date of delivery of the original purchase.

The five-year structure tier names T1, T1ST, T1ST Plus, Breeze, Tempo. The Triker is not among them.

Velotric publishes three warranty documents, and they disagree

  • velotricbike.com/pages/warranty: 5-year structure row naming T1, T1ST, T1ST Plus, Breeze and Tempo; battery 2 years, designed to retain up to 75% of original capacity.
  • Velotric support-center policy (updated 2026-08-21): the same structure row narrowed to 'T1 & T1ST only'; battery expressed as 2 years or 'up to 300 charging cycles, whichever occurs first'.
  • Velotric owner's manual, p.100 (PDF deposit copy held): a flat 2-year term whose Covered Components include frame, forks and brake — no 5-year tier at all.

We quote all three and present none as governing, because Velotric has not said which one wins. It matters less than it looks here — your cover is Redtail's — but you should know the manufacturer's own documents are not consistent.

What is excluded

  • Consumables and wear parts — tires, tubes, brake pads, cables and housing, grips, chain, spokes, bearings, free hub bodies, sprockets
  • Paint and graphics; suspension forks and suspension parts are excluded from the frame definition
  • Third-party components such as drivetrain, brakes or suspension — refer to that manufacturer
  • Improper assembly, crash, neglect, improper repair or maintenance, corrosion

Velotric's warranty terms as published at www.velotricbike.com/pages/warranty, read 2026-08-24. Reproduced as context for what the manufacturer stands behind on a direct purchase; your cover is Redtail's. First owner / original purchaser only. Subsequent owners are not covered, though Velotric invites them to contact its CS team.

Has the Velotric Triker been discontinued?

Velotric still lists the Triker with its full specification, and all three colorways are in stock here as of September 24, 2026.

Is the Velotric Triker UL certified?

Velotric's specification states UL 2849 for the Triker's electrical system and UL 2271 for its battery. If your building or insurer asks for the certificate document, ask us and we will request it from Velotric in writing.

Is the Velotric Triker a three-wheeler?

Yes. It is the only trike in Velotric's range, built in one size for riders from 4'10" to 6'5".

What class of e-bike is the Triker?

Velotric lists it as Class 1/2 with a speed limit you set from 8 to 20 mph. How a trike is classed, and where it may ride, is set by your state, so check your state's rule before you ride it on a path.

Can I still buy the Velotric Triker?

Yes. All three colorways are in stock as of September 24, 2026, and it ships free in the lower 48.

The bottom line

Buy the Triker if three wheels are the point: a 750W motor with 90 Nm, a 500 lb rating that includes the basket, and a speed you can set as low as 8 mph. If you need to lift the bike often, the Fold 1 Plus fits better; if you want a limit you can set to 28 mph, the Discover 3.
