The Velotric Packer 1 is a cargo e-bike: a 750W hub with 75 Nm, a 691.2Wh battery with up to 52 miles on assist, a 440 lb load rating with a 176 lb rear rack, and four-piston hydraulic brakes, which Velotric lists as a Class 2 at its 20 mph default. No colorway is orderable at Velotric today, so none is orderable here; the GoMad is in stock at $1,999.

Every figure above is Velotric's own published specification for the Packer 1, read from www.velotricbike.com/products/velotric-packer-1-e-bike?country=US on 2026-08-24. Manufacturer claims, not Redtail test results — we label them that way rather than dress them up.
Price and availability
Price matched
$2,199 against a $2,199 list price. Re-checked against Velotric in USD every day.
Stock matched
Every colorway is out of stock right now — all 2 of them (Sky Blue, Indigo Gray). That mirrors Velotric's own availability rather than hiding it: we would rather show you an honest zero than take an order we cannot fill. Email us and we will tell you what we know about the next run.

Who the Packer 1 is for
Buy it if
- Riders who want the Packer 1 specifically and will wait for it to return

The Packer 1 in detail

440 lb total, 176 lb on the rack
Velotric rates the Packer 1 for 440 lb in total and 176 lb on the rear rack, with full fenders and a lockable down-tube battery.

26 in up front, 20 in behind
A CST 26 × 2.4 in front tire and a 20 × 3.0 in rear, per Velotric.

750W and 75 Nm
A 750W hub with 75 Nm, per Velotric, with four-piston hydraulic disc brakes and an 80 mm hydraulic fork with lockout.

20 mph as a Class 2
Velotric lists the Packer 1 as a Class 2 at its 20 mph default, and 25 mph when unlocked. Check the rule where you ride before you raise it.

A 3A charger for any US outlet
Velotric's 48V, 3A charger runs on 100 to 240V AC, and the battery locks into the down tube when it is on the bike.
The honest ledger
Green flags
- Velotric publishes throttle range and pedal-assist range separately — Up to 45 miles on throttle, Up to 52 miles on assist — instead of one blended number that flatters the bike.
Red flags
- No colorway is buyable at Velotric today, so none is buyable here.
What Velotric states about certification
If certification matters to your purchase, ask us and we will confirm this model's certification with Velotric in writing before you order.
Source: this model's own specification sheet on velotricbike.com, read 2026-08-24.
Class, speed and where you can ride
See below
The motor is specified at 750W. The federal low-speed electric bicycle definition at 15 U.S.C. § 2085 tops out at 750W, so this sits at that ceiling rather than above it.
What the classes mean in practice: Class 1 is pedal-assist only up to 20 mph; Class 2 adds a throttle up to 20 mph; Class 3 is pedal-assist to 28 mph and is the class most often restricted on shared-use paths. Which classes are allowed where is set by your state and often by your city or park district.
We are not going to tell you this bike “is” a Class 3 e-bike, because that depends on how it is set and where you ride it. Tell us your state and we will put the answer in an email you can keep.
We publish a state-by-state e-bike law hub, and if you want your own state answered in writing before you order, ask us and we will put it in an email you can keep.
How to read this spec sheet
Nominal and peak are different numbers
Velotric publishes a nominal motor rating and, on several models, a peak figure alongside it (“750W (1300W Peak Power)”). Nominal is the continuous rating that the federal low-speed electric bicycle definition and state statutes are written against; peak is a short-burst ceiling. When you compare against a brand that quotes only peak, you are not comparing like with like.
Two range figures, not one
Velotric quotes throttle range and pedal-assist range separately rather than blending them into a single flattering number. The assist figure is the higher of the two and assumes you are contributing. Plan around the throttle figure if you intend to use one.
Class is a setting, not a fact about the bike
These bikes ship at a default speed limit and can be adjusted within a stated range. What is legal where you ride depends on that setting and on your state and city — which is why we will not print a class badge and call it done.

What we counted
Measured by Redtail
We pulled Velotric's entire published catalog on 2026-08-24 — all 125 products and every variant — and counted what could actually be bought that day. Velotric could sell 80 of its own 102 published bike configurations on the pull date — 78%. 6 of its 20 bike models had no buyable colorway at all.
Across the accessory and parts range, 152 of 166 variants were buyable. We mirror that availability daily rather than list a color nobody can ship — which is why some options on this page may be greyed out today and back tomorrow.
Warranty
Buy the bike from Redtail and Redtail handles the claim. Send photos or video of the issue with your order number and we take it from there — we file and manage it rather than sending you to a manufacturer inbox. Velotric also keeps its own customer-service line open to every owner for troubleshooting, for the life of the bike, whoever sold it.
Who covers you
Velotric's warranty states: “Only applicable to United States e-bike purchases from velotricbike.com. Bikes purchased outside the Velotric official website shall contact their original dealer for after-sale service.” Redtail is a dealer, so after-sale service on this bike is Redtail's and the claim comes to us. Velotric adds that “All Velotric bike owners are entitled to contact the Velotric CS Team for troubleshooting service throughout the lifetime of bikes.” — that part is open to every owner, whoever sold the bike.
What Velotric stands behind, on a direct purchase
- 2 years — Electrical — motor, throttle, PAS panel, controller, wiring harness, lights, IOT module, sensor, fingerprint module, FindMy module, charger, display
- 2 years — Battery — designed to retain up to 75% of original capacity over the period
- 1 year — Other essential components — suspension forks, stem, handlebar, headset, brakes (excluding pads), bottom bracket, crankset, pedals, kickstand, rims, hub, freewheel, cassette, derailleur, shifter
- 1 year — Accessories
- Runs from the date of delivery of the original purchase.
The five-year structure tier names T1, T1ST, T1ST Plus, Breeze, Tempo. The Packer 1 is not among them.
Velotric publishes three warranty documents, and they disagree
- velotricbike.com/pages/warranty: 5-year structure row naming T1, T1ST, T1ST Plus, Breeze and Tempo; battery 2 years, designed to retain up to 75% of original capacity.
- Velotric support-center policy (updated 2026-08-21): the same structure row narrowed to 'T1 & T1ST only'; battery expressed as 2 years or 'up to 300 charging cycles, whichever occurs first'.
- Velotric owner's manual, p.100 (PDF deposit copy held): a flat 2-year term whose Covered Components include frame, forks and brake — no 5-year tier at all.
We quote all three and present none as governing, because Velotric has not said which one wins. It matters less than it looks here — your cover is Redtail's — but you should know the manufacturer's own documents are not consistent.
What is excluded
- Consumables and wear parts — tires, tubes, brake pads, cables and housing, grips, chain, spokes, bearings, free hub bodies, sprockets
- Paint and graphics; suspension forks and suspension parts are excluded from the frame definition
- Third-party components such as drivetrain, brakes or suspension — refer to that manufacturer
- Improper assembly, crash, neglect, improper repair or maintenance, corrosion
Velotric's warranty terms as published at www.velotricbike.com/pages/warranty, read 2026-08-24. Reproduced as context for what the manufacturer stands behind on a direct purchase; your cover is Redtail's. First owner / original purchaser only. Subsequent owners are not covered, though Velotric invites them to contact its CS team.

Frequently asked questions
What are the specifications of the Velotric Packer 1?
Velotric's specification: a 750W hub with 75 Nm; a 48V 14.4Ah, 691.2Wh battery on LG 21700 cells; up to 52 miles on pedal assist and 45 on throttle; 75 lb; a 440 lb load rating with a 176 lb rear rack; a 26 × 2.4 in front and 20 × 3.0 in rear tire; four-piston hydraulic disc brakes; 20 mph as a Class 2, 25 mph unlocked.
Has the Velotric Packer 1 been discontinued?
Velotric still lists the Packer 1 with its full specification, and we will tell you when a colorway is orderable again if you ask us.
Is the Velotric Packer 1 UL certified?
Velotric's certification page says most of its e-bikes are UL 2271 Recognized and UL 2849 Certified. For the Packer 1 specifically, ask us and we will confirm with Velotric in writing before you order.
What class of e-bike is the Packer 1?
Velotric lists it as a Class 2 at its 20 mph default, and 25 mph unlocked. Above 20 mph it no longer rides as a Class 2, so check the rule where you ride before you unlock it.
Can I still buy the Velotric Packer 1?
Not today: no colorway is orderable at Velotric, so none is orderable here. The GoMad is in stock at $1,999.
The bottom line
The Packer 1 is a cargo bike with a 176 lb rack rating and four-piston brakes, and it is not orderable today. The GoMad at $1,999 carries the same 176 lb on its rack and 500 lb in total, and it is in stock.
