The FM001 2-Seater Fat Tire Electric Bike is named in no regulator's notice as of September 11, 2026. It was built by the company that is. Everything below is quoted from the regulators and the courts, and it is on this page because a buyer choosing this bike deserves to know who made it and how that company answered a federal safety agency.
The March 19, 2026 warning covers the "Ridstar Q20 and Q20 Pro e-bikes": "The e-bikes' batteries and wires can ignite, posing a fire hazard to consumers." The Commission "is aware of 11 reports of fire, including one burn injury, five reports of smoke inhalation, and two reports of property damage totaling over $40,000." Its instruction: "remove the battery from the e-bike immediately and dispose of the battery following local hazardous waste disposal procedures. Do not sell or give away these hazardous batteries."
The June 25, 2026 warning covers the "Ridstar Q20 and Q20 Lite e-bikes": "The front wheel can detach without warning, posing a crash hazard to consumers." The Commission "is aware of 32 reports of the front wheel detaching, including 31 reports of injuries such as concussions, broken bones, cuts, scrapes, and bruises." Its instruction: "stop using the e-bikes immediately and dispose of them. Do not sell or give away these hazardous e-bikes."
Neither notice is a recall, and there is no repair, refund or replacement program. The March notice states that "the manufacturer, Huizhou Xingqishi Sporting Goods Co., Ltd., of China, has refused to agree to an acceptable recall"; the June notice states that it "has been unresponsive to CPSC's requests for information about these products or a recall."
Before either US notice, the UK Office for Product Safety and Standards published Product Safety Report 2506-0011 on 19 June 2025 for the "Ridstar E-Bikes Q20-Plus, Q20-Mini, E26 Pro and Chargers", risk level "Serious": "the charger has poor quality soldering, and the transformer does not meet the minimum requirements for creepage and clearance distances." Its corrective measure: "The import has been rejected at the border."
Two product-liability suits over a detached Ridstar front wheel were filed in 2026 and are undecided: Cunanan v. Amazon.com Services LLC (D. Or., filed April 7, 2026) alleges a Ridstar Q20 caused "numerous facial fractures"; L.E. v. Walmart Inc. (Palm Beach County, filed July 30, 2026, removed to S.D. Fla.) alleges a Walmart-bought Ridstar's front wheel "unexpectedly detached during normal operation" and injured a minor. Both are allegations, not findings.

A one-year limited warranty issued by Ridstar Bikes, beginning from the original owner's receipt or purchase date, whichever is later, as verified by Ridstar, as published on its warranty page and retrieved 2026-08-26. One caveat worth knowing: Ridstar's own product listings print a bullet headed "ONE-YEAR WARRANTY" that then states a warranty on the motor, battery and charger — on some models one year, on others two — while its warranty page states one year for the whole bike. Every page states the figure from that model's own listing and says the page disagrees.

We pulled Ridstar's entire live catalog on 2026-08-26 — all 93 published listings — and worked out what is actually on the shelf: 26 bike listings, 11 scooters and 41 accessories. Among the bikes we found 4 pairs of listings that are the same machine listed twice, counted only where the descriptions are byte-identical or the two listings share most of the same image files. The widest gap is the Q30 Pro 4000W, which appears at $899.00 and $1269.00 on the same storefront. That is why the price on this page is matched to a named listing rather than to “the manufacturer”.
Redtail original analysis, counted from Ridstar's public storefront feed and collection endpoints on 2026-08-26; every price cross-checked against a second, independently fetched endpoint. Method: Two listings are called the same bike only where their description text is byte-identical after markup is stripped, or they share 60% or more of the same image FILES. Shared boilerplate paragraphs alone were not enough — an earlier pass that keyed on the first 400 characters produced four false pairs and was discarded.

The FM001 is a short-haul two-seat fat bike, built for local trips on quiet roads, tracks and private land.
Ridstar publishes the motor as 1000W and the top speed as 28 mph. Federal law defines the low-speed electric bicycle category this way:
the term “low-speed electric bicycle” means a two- or three-wheeled vehicle with fully operable pedals and an electric motor of less than 750 watts (1 h.p.), whose maximum speed on a paved level surface, when powered solely by such a motor while ridden by an operator who weighs 170 pounds, is less than 20 mph.

Set those two published numbers against that threshold and this bike sits outside the federal low-speed electric bicycle definition. What that means where you live is decided by your state: some apply moped, motor-driven cycle or off-highway vehicle rules above the federal line, and those can reach registration, insurance, licensing, helmets and which paths and trails are open to you. Some states set their own wattage ceiling instead. Check yours before you ride on any public road, bike path or trail.

Straight answers on the FM001
Four things buyers ask before ordering this one, and what each actually means for the ride you are planning.
Is 330 lb enough for two adults?
330 lb is the total: both riders plus anything carried. Two adults at average US weights leave very little of it, and Ridstar markets the bike on the second seat rather than on that ceiling.
Read the bike for what the number describes, which is an adult plus a child, or an adult plus a shop run, over short distances. That is a real job and this bike does it cheaply. Two adults regularly is a different purchase, and the honest answer on our shelf is the Q50: same 330 lb ceiling, far more battery to move it, in stock at $799.
The range claim appears twice, differently.
Ridstar's page says 30 miles in one sentence and 50 in another, with no rider count, terrain or assist level attached to either. The table here carries 30, the lower figure.
Neither figure was measured with two people on board, so plan from the pack: 720 watt-hours, and expect a loaded bike to spend it faster. For local two-up trips that is the right size. For distance, the Q50 carries 1,200.
No bike weight, gear count or suspension is published.
Ridstar publishes none of the three for the FM001. Those rows read “not published” rather than borrowing figures from a bike that shares the wheel size.
