A 1,500W DC hub motor with cassette drive, run by a 48V 40 ± 1A, 12-MOSFET controller — the highest controller current Eahora publishes for anything. Against the FT-01's 1,000W that is half again the power on the same chassis, which is most of what the $300 buys.

A 48V 30Ah pack with a claimed 43 miles in pedal-assist mode and 28 on throttle alone. Half again the FT-01's 960Wh, and the reason this bike can carry a heavier rider further on the same frame. Eahora publishes neither the cell format nor a cycle life for this pack, where the cheaper FT-01 names its 21700 cells.

Sixty-five more pounds of headroom

Rated to 330 lb where the FT-01 on the same geometry is rated to 265 lb — rider and cargo together. Eahora does not explain what changed to allow it, but the higher figure is the one it publishes for this model and it is the practical reason to choose the Max if you are a larger rider.

Speed and the law — read this before you buy

This is one of only four Eahora models that states a class on its own page: its spec row reads 'Class 3 ebike with 3-level pedal assist and throttle.' Two things are worth knowing before you rely on it. First, Eahora publishes no top-speed figure for this model anywhere — not in the spec table, not in the marketing bands — so the 28 mph pedal-assist ceiling that defines Class 3 cannot be checked against a published number; we looked for the row rather than assuming it was absent. Second, many states define Class 3 as pedal-assist only, with throttle assistance capped at 20 mph separately, and this bike offers both. Its moped styling may also attract rules its performance does not warrant. A class is a conclusion under your state's statute rather than a manufacturer's label — read your own state's rule in Redtail's law guide, and ask us if it is not clear.

Eahora's warranty page sets a 24-month frame period in its coverage table, then closes with 'Claims deadline: 1 year from purchase date.' The two statements are on the same page and are not reconciled anywhere on it. We print both and treat 12 months as the figure to plan around; if you need the frame claim in year two, tell us and we will put it to Eahora in writing before you order.
Eahora's own storefront header advertises '1 Year Warranty', which matches the claims deadline rather than the 24-month frame row.

Free shipping on every electric bike within the contiguous United States (lower 48).

Orders are prepared and dispatched within 1–3 business days of confirmation. Most e-bikes arrive within 5–10 business days after dispatch, depending on location.

Ships via trusted parcel and freight carriers — UPS, FedEx, and LTL freight for larger items — with tracking emailed at dispatch. For freight, the carrier may call to schedule and a signature may be required.

On delivery

Inspect your shipment at delivery. Damage, defects, or incorrect items must be reported with photos within 48 hours; claims submitted after this window are not accepted.

Bikes with power, charging, or component issues are covered under the manufacturer warranty; Redtail coordinates repair or replacement remotely at no cost to the customer.

Returns

Change-of-mind returns accepted only on unopened, factory-sealed items requested within 72 hours (3 days) of delivery, with a 15% restocking fee plus return shipping. Once a box is opened or a bike is ridden, it is no longer eligible.

Once an eligible return arrives we take up to 5 business days to inspect it; approved refunds issue within 14 days of completed inspection, and your bank may take a further 2–15 business days to post it.

Order cancellations carry a 3% transaction fee, because card-processing fees are non-recoverable.

Frequently asked questions

How fast does the FT-01 Max go?

Eahora does not publish a figure. Its spec sheet states 'Class 3 ebike with 3-level pedal assist and throttle' and gives no mph number anywhere — we searched the spec table and the marketing bands rather than assuming the row was missing. That is an awkward gap, because Class 3 is defined by a speed. If the number matters for your state, ask us and we will get it from Eahora in writing before you order.

Is it a Class 3 e-bike?

Eahora says so on this model's own page, which puts it among only four of its 26 bikes that state a class at all. Whether that holds where you live is a different question: many states define Class 3 as pedal-assist only with throttle capped at 20 mph, and this bike offers both. A class is a conclusion under your state's statute rather than a label a manufacturer applies. Check Redtail's law guide and ask us if it is unclear.

FT-01 or FT-01 Max?

The Max gives you half again the motor (1,500W against 1,000W), half again the battery (1,440Wh against 960Wh), 65 lb more load rating (330 against 265), proper fat-tire fenders and a powered tail light — for $300. What the cheaper FT-01 keeps is a published top speed of 23–26 mph, named 21700 cells, a published torque figure and a published cycle life, none of which the Max discloses. On stock, the Max's Black was buyable on our pull date and neither FT-01 colorway was.

Which colors can I actually get?

Black. Eahora publishes five colorways — Black, White, Light Blue, Orange and Dark Cyan — but only Black read available on both endpoints we checked on 2026-08-24, so it is the only one listed here. We list what Eahora can actually supply rather than take your money for a color that is not in a warehouse. Email support@redtailebikes.com and we will tell you whether the others have come back.

Single-speed — can I pedal it?

In one narrow band of speed. Eahora specifies no derailleur, no shifter and no freewheel, with a 48T chainring: there is one gear, and it will feel right at roughly one cadence. On a 90 lb moped-shaped bike that runs mostly on throttle, dropping the shifting hardware removes the parts most likely to need adjustment — but the pedals are there for the law and for emergencies, not for exercise.

Is the battery UL certified?

Eahora publishes no certificate, standard number or issuing laboratory for this model or any other. We searched all 162 of its product pages and all eight policy pages on 2026-08-24; the only certification statement anywhere is one FAQ sentence saying its batteries are 'fully compliant with the rigorous UL certification standards'. We will not present that as a certification. If you want documentation before ordering, ask and we will request it from Eahora in writing.

What warranty applies, and who handles a claim?

Eahora's published terms: 24 months on the frame, 12 on the fork, motor and battery, 6 on the controller, 3 on the charger, display, tires, saddle and other parts.
