Why the Greattan L
A bench that expects a person
The rear bench sits over the axle with footrests below and the under-seat basket (21.6 × 14.9 in) keeping cargo capacity alongside. Addmotor rates the arrangement plainly: 350 lb of rider plus 150 lb behind. Grab the published dimension table and seat a real passenger in your head — knee room, step-up height, the 17.3 in standover — before you buy any two-seater, including this one.
The 11.81-inch number
Passenger weight sits high on most adapted trikes; the Greattan L publishes its answer — a center of gravity 11.81 inches off the ground, spread over a 59.1-inch wheelbase and 36.6-inch track, steered through a 725mm-wide bar. Addmotor prints the figure because it's the whole argument: weight aboard, the L stays planted.
1,400 peak watts, torque-metered
Two people need real output: the 750W rear hub publishes a 1,400W peak with Addmotor's upgraded torque sensor scaling assist to actual pedal pressure across seven levels. The motor-cutoff levers kill power the instant braking starts — non-negotiable equipment when someone you love is on the bench.

Built for neighborhoods, paths and errand routes: fully operable pedals, assistance capped at 20 mph, and a 750-watt rated motor — right at the figures the federal low-speed electric bicycle definition (15 U.S.C. § 2085: 'less than 750 watts', less than 20 mph on motor power alone) is written around. How to read this spec sheet
Where Addmotor's own page prints more than one figure for the same spec, the table above carries the one we could verify twice, and this list names every such case and the figure we chose:
- Price: $3,899 is Addmotor's live price for the base configuration; no machine-readable pre-sale price is published, so no compare-at is listed. Dual-battery pricing is set in Addmotor's configurator — ask us for the current dual-pack quote before ordering that version.
- Peak power: the 1,400W figure appears in the L's marketing copy ('750W Brushless Rear Drive Motor with 1400W Peak Power'); the technical table lists the 750W rating. Both quoted.
- Top speed: uniquely in the range, the L's technical table omits a speed row. Its siblings publish 20 mph and the platform is common, but we print only what its page prints — nothing.
- Passenger rules vary by state (some require designated passenger seats, some set age limits). The bench is a designated seat; your state's law is the other half of the answer.

- Abuse, neglect, modification, accidents, or use beyond intended purpose
- Shipping damage not documented promptly with dated photos (and noted on the Bill of Lading for freight)

Frequently asked questions
Greattan L, Greattan D, or M-380 — three big Addmotors?
Three different second-seat philosophies. The L ($3,899) carries a passive passenger on a bench behind you. The D ($3,799) deletes the person for a 29.5-inch cargo flatbed, hydraulic brakes and 7-inch farm tires. The M-380 tandem ($4,099) makes the passenger a co-pilot with their own independent pedals. Who — or what — rides behind you decides the machine.
Can an adult really ride on the back?
The hardware says yes: a purpose-built bench with footrests, a 150 lb rear rating, a 500 lb combined capacity and an 11.81-inch center of gravity. The law says check first: states differ on adult passengers, designated seats and helmet rules — our state law guides on the Redtail journal cover the details. Ride two-up the way the geometry encourages: smooth inputs, wide corners, 20-mph-class speeds.
Single or dual battery?
Buy dual if two-up range matters — passenger loads spend watt-hours roughly a third faster, and the dual build's printed figure is 130 PAS-1 miles against 65. Solo-mostly riders with occasional passengers are fine on one pack. The Dual-Battery version is right on this page at the same $3,899 — pick it in the options above, matching Addmotor's own configurator pricing checked 2026-08-29.
Why is there no top-speed figure on this one?
Addmotor's own technical table for the L simply omits the row — every sibling prints 20 mph, and the L shares the platform, but our rule is to print pages as published rather than fill gaps by inference. Treat it as a 20-mph-class machine for planning, and treat the missing row as what it is: their omission, our disclosure.
How does it handle without a passenger?
Lighter at the rear and otherwise identical — the torque sensor simply meters less assist because you're working less. The extra-low 24-inch fork, wide bar and long wheelbase that make it stable loaded make it calm empty. What never changes is the footprint: 82.7 by 36.6 inches needs the turning space of a small utility vehicle, because that's what it is.
