Why the Rocket ST201F
We rode the Rocket ST201F on a snowy trail
Watch our gray Rocket ST201F, the 1500W build, ride a snow-covered trail, pass under an overpass and run through a tunnel, filmed from the rider's helmet camera. 6 minutes 31 seconds, published September 29, 2026 on our YouTube channel; what the rider says on it, set against Smartravel's specification, is in our Rocket ST201F review.
Where the rider's words and Smartravel's documents differ, go by the documents: a 350 lb limit for rider and cargo (0:25 says 400), Smartravel's 12-month warranty (0:46 says 2 years) and an LG battery (0:22 says Samsung).
Add the 1500W Rocket to cart The build in the video: 1500W peak, 1,228.8 Wh, $1,099.99, shipped free.

Pick your battery size at checkout
Choose the 1200W build with a 48V, 18.2Ah pack (873.6 Wh) at $799.99, or the 1500W-peak build with a 48V, 25.6Ah pack (1,228.8 Wh) at $1,099.99, the configuration Smartravel's spec table rates at 32 mph.

Hydraulic disc brakes, front and rear
You stop on hydraulic disc brakes at both wheels and ride on a hydraulic front fork and a rear shock, over 20" x 4" fat tires. Both builds share this hardware.

Arrives roughly 90% assembled
It ships about 90% pre-assembled, Smartravel says, with the LCD display, USB port and LED lighting already wired in: you secure the handlebars with a few screws and ride.
What stands out on the spec sheet
- Two battery sizes in one listing, from 873.6 Wh up to 1,228.8 Wh
- Hydraulic disc brakes front and rear on both configurations
- Front hydraulic suspension, not a basic spring fork
- Arrives roughly 90% pre-assembled

Who the Rocket ST201F fits
If you want a retro, motorcycle-style fat-tire e-bike with hydraulic brakes and a battery you choose at checkout, the Rocket ST201F is the pick at $799.99, or $1,099.99 for the 1,228.8 Wh pack and its published 32 mph top speed.
It’s your bike if
- You want a retro, motorcycle-style fat-tire bike, with the bigger battery offered in the same listing
- You ride longer distances and want the 1,228.8 Wh pack and its published 32 mph top speed for $300 more
- You are happy to secure the handlebars yourself: it arrives about 90% assembled
Want something different? We stock it
- If you want a lower-priced fat-tire bike — the DK400 is $665, with the same 873.6 Wh battery capacity as the Rocket's base pack.
- If you want GPS tracking and app control included — the Raptor ST202 is built with GPS and app control from the spec sheet up.

What Smartravel’s warranty does not cover:
- Wear parts: tires, inner tubes, spokes and brake pads
- Accessories, including free gifts (Smartravel's product pages say the warranty service does not include free accessories)
- Damage from abuse, neglect, misuse, an accident, stunt riding or ramp jumping
- Damage from water, from improper charging or from a charger Smartravel or its dealers did not supply
- Third-party parts, and any part that has been modified or tampered with
- Lost or damaged keys or NFC card
- Electrical parts repaired or modified by someone Smartravel has not authorized (that voids the warranty)
Owning it in your state
Federal law defines a “low-speed electric bicycle” as a vehicle with a motor under 750 watts and a maximum motor-powered speed under 20 mph (15 U.S.C. § 2085(b)). The Rocket ST201F is published at 1200–1500W with up to a 32 mph top speed, above that federal threshold, so state law — not the federal low-speed-bicycle carve-out — governs where and how you can ride it.
The detail for where you ride is in our state-by-state e-bike law guide.

How to read this spec sheet
Smartravel’s pages give more than one figure for some specs on this model; the list below gives both, and the one the table above uses.
- Torque: Smartravel's spec list gives 86 N·m, the figure in the table; another passage of its product copy gives 80 N·m for the 1200W motor.
- Battery: Smartravel's headline figures and spec list give 48V 18.2Ah for the base build and 48V 25.6Ah for the upgrade; its FAQ describes a 48V 15Ah battery.
- Range: Smartravel's figures give 60 miles on the motor alone and 80+ miles with pedal assist; its FAQ gives 60–80 miles on a charge.
- Charge time: one answer in Smartravel's FAQ gives 5–6 hours and another gives 5 hours; the table uses 5–6 hours.
- Gears: Smartravel's own comparison table of the ST201F Rocket and the ST202 Raptor marks the Rocket with no Shimano gears and the Raptor with seven.
- Smartravel's Warranty & Return Policy sets 12 months for every component and the battery. Its product pages also print '1-year all-inclusive' (with batteries and free accessories outside 'the warranty service'), 'a 2-year warranty for each ebike', and, on the Rocket ST201F and DK400, 18 months. We plan to the policy's 12 months; if a longer term matters to you, tell us and we will put the question to Smartravel in writing before you order.
Straight answers before you order
The Rocket ST201F has one speed: Smartravel's comparison table lists it with no Shimano gears.
You set the pace with the throttle and five pedal-assist levels, which is how a motorcycle-style bike is ridden. If you want gears for pedaling up hills, the Raptor ST202 shifts through seven Shimano gears. See the Raptor ST202.
Smartravel lists the Rocket ST201F at 104.1 lb (47.3 kg).
That is a fat-tire frame with front and rear suspension and a pack up to 1,228.8 Wh, so it is a bike you roll, not one you lift. If you need a bike you can lift onto a car rack, the ZOONLAI UrbanX is 58.37 lb. See the ZOONLAI UrbanX.
Manuals & assembly
Smartravel publishes an owner’s manual and an assembly video for its models on Smartravel's owner's-manual and assembly-video page. Email us and we will send you the current file for your bike directly, along with a plain answer on what is left to put together out of the box — worth asking before you order if that is what decides it.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the two Rocket ST201F configurations?
The 1200W build is $799.99 with a 48V, 18.2Ah battery (873.6 Wh). The 1500W build is $1,099.99 with a 1500W-peak, 1200W-sustained motor, a 48V, 25.6Ah battery (1,228.8 Wh) and a published 32 mph top speed; it is the build in our snow ride video. Both share the hydraulic disc brakes, the suspension and the 20 x 4-inch tires.
Is the Rocket ST201F worth it?
At $799.99 you get a 1200W motor, an 873.6 Wh battery, hydraulic disc brakes at both wheels, front and rear suspension, 20 x 4-inch fat tires and LED lighting, delivered about 90% assembled with free shipping in the lower 48, and Redtail handles any warranty claim. The $1,099.99 build adds the 1,228.8 Wh pack, 1500W peak and a published 32 mph. It has one speed, so it suits riding on the motor more than pedaling hard.
How fast does the Rocket ST201F go?
Smartravel publishes a 32 mph top speed, the figure its spec table gives for the 1500W build. You set your pace with the throttle and five pedal-assist levels. 32 mph is above the 20 mph federal line for a low-speed electric bicycle, so your state's law decides where you may ride at that speed.
How far does the Rocket ST201F go on a charge, and how long does it take to charge?
Smartravel rates the 1,228.8 Wh pack at up to 60 miles on the motor alone and more than 80 miles with pedal assist, and gives 5 to 6 hours for a full charge. Your miles depend on your weight, your speed, the hills and the temperature: our Rocket ST201F review computes the range for each, with the formula and every input shown.
Is the Rocket ST201F legal to ride on the street?
Smartravel publishes a 32 mph top speed and a 1200–1500W motor rating, above the federal low-speed electric bicycle line (motors under 750W and speeds under 20 mph, 15 U.S.C. § 2085(b)). So your state's law, not the federal e-bike definition, decides where you can ride it: check your state in our e-bike law guide before you order.
Is this the Rocket ST201F Pro?
No. Smartravel's Rocket ST201F Pro is a different bike, a dual-motor model. This listing is the single-motor Rocket ST201F in its 1200W and 1500W-peak builds, so specifications quoted for the Pro do not apply to it.
Can the Rocket ST201F handle snow and cold weather?
We rode the 1500W build along a snow-covered trail on camera; the ride is in the video above. For ice, our rider's advice is studded tires in the stock 20 x 4.0 size. Cold shortens range, as our rider notes at 2:40, so plan winter rides shorter: our Rocket ST201F review has a cold-weather range table for this bike.
What warranty comes with the Rocket ST201F?
Smartravel's 12-month limited warranty, counted from delivery, covering the frame, motor, controller, charger, electronics and components, and the battery to 75% of its capacity through 300 cycles. You claim through us: send photos and your order number and we open and manage the claim with Smartravel. Its product copy also prints 18 months and 2 years; 12 months is the term its warranty policy sets.
Does the Rocket ST201F arrive fully assembled?
Smartravel says it arrives about 90% assembled: you secure the handlebars with a few screws. We can walk you through it after delivery.
What is the seat height on the Rocket ST201F?
33 inches, per Smartravel. Whether it fits you depends on your inseam and reach more than your height: our Rocket ST201F review works out the saddle height against your inseam, the reach to the grips and the load on your wrists for riders from 5'0" to 6'3".
Is the Rocket ST201F UL certified?
Smartravel states on its product page that the Rocket ST201F is safety certified in accordance with UL 2849. If you need the certificate details before you order, email us and we will get them from Smartravel in writing.

How we verified this page. Every specification above was read from an archived copy of Smartravel’s own product page (www.smartravelor.com/products/electric-bike), retrieved September 24, 2026 and re-checked against the live page on October 18, 2026. The price was matched to Smartravel’s own on October 18, 2026, read from its product page and its official catalog feed, and the gifts and warranty terms were read from its buy box and its Warranty & Return Policy the same day.
Every figure is the manufacturer’s own rating, verified against its pages; where those pages give two figures for one spec, the "How to read this spec sheet" section prints both. UL/TUV statements are reported as Smartravel’s own claim, never asserted as independently verified. Prices are USD, current at the date shown.
